Never Sever the Dao to Prove the Dao

The emaciated cultivator was so overwhelmed with excitement that he kept repeating, "I've finally seen another person!" more than a dozen times.

Joe Di waited quietly. Although the emaciated cultivator seemed worn and decayed, Joe Di knew he was an absolute powerhouse, no weaker than the portly wanderer he had met before.

Back when he was at the peak of the Dao Integration stage, Joe Di had been utterly powerless against the portly wanderer, which showed just how terrifying that man was. This emaciated cultivator was no less formidable; clearly, he was another peerless powerhouse. If Joe Di were still in the Dao Integration Realm, he would have turned and fled without hesitation.

His only real strength was his escape technique; even the portly wanderer hadn't been able to catch him, which showed just how formidable his technique was.

Just as Joe Di expected, even the most excited person eventually calms down. The emaciated cultivator finally quieted, studying Joe Di from head to toe for a long while before muttering, "You're so young."

Joe Di greeted the cultivator, "Greetings, fellow Daoist. May I ask why you are here, and how should I address you?"

"Joe Di? That's a good name," the emaciated cultivator unexpectedly praised. "My name is Quinn Moten. Why am I here? Haha, I've been here for countless millennia..."

Quinn Moten gave a self-deprecating laugh, his eyes empty as if he was trying to calculate just how many millennia he'd been trapped here.

Quinn Moten? Joe Di felt the name was familiar. Soon, he recalled hearing rumors about this man—a peerless powerhouse said to have died at the hands of Prime Essence Lord Damian Ning.

How could there be another Quinn Moten here? Could it be that the two are not the same person?

"Fellow Daoist Quinn, I lost my way after entering the Chaos Realm and now have no idea how to get out. You've been here much longer—do you have any clues?" Joe Di didn't bother to dwell further on Quinn Moten's past.

Quinn Moten stared at Joe Di for a long time before finally speaking, "Chaos isn't a place you can just enter; the chance of stumbling in is less than one in a billion. Someone must have brought you here. Who was it?"

Joe Di was now at the World-Creation Realm, so he had no need to hide anything. "Someone did bring me in—his name is Gavin Strider. Do you know him, fellow Daoist?"

"Gavin Strider?" Quinn Moten repeated the name, then shook his head. "I don't know him. But what I can tell you is that once you're in here, you might as well settle in. Chaos has no rules, no things, and no directions. Once you've entered, there's no way out."

"Then how did you get in, fellow Daoist?" Joe Di felt a chill at Quinn Moten's words.

"I escaped in," Quinn Moten said with a self-deprecating smile. After talking with Joe Di for a while, his eyes no longer seemed as empty as before.

Joe Di felt it inappropriate to ask further—if someone had escaped here, pressing for details would be rude.

Unable to find any sense of direction, Joe Di still wanted to learn more, no matter what Quinn Moten said. To get closer to him, Joe Di brought up a topic, "Before I came here, I heard of a cultivator named Quinn Moten. He was said to be so powerful he could contend with a realm lord."

"You saw Quinn Moten? Where is he? He must be incredibly strong now, right?" Quinn Moten asked, his tone growing excited and impatient.

Joe Di looked at Quinn Moten in confusion—what was the relationship between the two Quinn Motens?
