A severed finger, covered in purple hair, lay quietly inside the box.
Strong waves of baleful qi radiated from the finger.
The first thing that caught the eye was the finger.
The finger had already started to blacken inside, suggesting countless years had passed.
Yet, it seemed as if there was still blood inside that hadn't dried up.
"Why did Damon Wang give me this thing?"
Evan Lin held the box, still deep in thought.
At some point, Lily Zhao had already appeared beside him, quietly standing there, her gaze fixed on the finger in the box, eyes dazed.
"Do you recognize this thing?"
Evan was slightly surprised to see Lily Zhao appear.
Lily Zhao has been speaking less and less lately, and Evan feels she's becoming increasingly distant.
Sometimes, Evan even feels as if Lily Zhao doesn't exist at all.
Hearing Evan's words, Lily Zhao first shook her head, then nodded slightly, but still didn't say a word. She just stood there, as if lost in thought.
Evan saw she wasn't speaking and didn't intend to press her.
Just as he was about to close the box, he suddenly noticed a note inside.
He opened the note.
On it was a string of phone numbers.
Without hesitation, Evan took out his phone and dialed the number.
After three rings, someone answered.
Damon Wang?
Evan asked a question.
"Yes, it's me."
Damon Wang's voice on the other end was hearty: "You got the item, right?"
"Should I call you Evan Lin, or Master Lin from Seacrest?"
"Or maybe Moonshade's Master Lin from Seacrest?"
Damon Wang spoke without any change in emotion.
"Call me whatever you want."
Evan didn't bother arguing about it. Back when Damon Wang had convinced him to help snatch the blood jade from Medicine King Valley's auction, Evan already knew this guy was pretty reckless.
"What exactly is this thing?"
Evan didn't beat around the bush—this was the real question he wanted answered.
