The Look of Someone Who Wants to Eat a Snake

“Give it to me—ah!” Suddenly, Queenie Zhu raised her hand and let out a miserable scream.

Under the sunlight, the blood was glaringly bright.

On the back of her hand, a large chunk of flesh was gone, exposing bone and pouring blood.

Meanwhile, Grace's Antler Serpent spat out the bloody flesh with a "pfft," looking thoroughly disgusted.

The Antler Serpent was the lowest-ranked spirit beast in the Eastern Wilderness Forest, its spiritual power so weak it shouldn't have been able to harm someone as strong as Queenie Zhu, a peak third-tier spiritualist.

But somehow, this one nearly bit her hand off.

"Beast! You dare bite me!" Queenie Zhu, furious and in pain, drew her sword and slashed at the Antler Serpent.

There was a crisp "snap!"

Queenie Zhu stared blankly, holding half a broken sword in her hand.

It was a top-grade spiritual weapon, sharp enough to slice through iron like mud!

She had begged her father for a long time to get it.

And now... it was bitten in half by the Antler Serpent?

Grace also found it strange.

She looked at the Antler Serpent’s teeth—its two front fangs gleamed, not the slightest bit damaged.

Queenie Zhu froze for a moment, then unleashed her full spiritual power, attacking the Antler Serpent in Grace’s hand with murderous intent.

She really was the most talented girl in the Zhu family’s generation, second only to Wendy Zhu.

With her fire-type Earth Spirit Root, the force of her palm carried a scorching heat—she probably wanted to roast the Antler Serpent and eat it.

Of course, if Grace didn’t dodge, she would definitely get burned.

She was about to dodge when, suddenly, a blue figure dropped from the sky, blocking her.

“Queenie Zhu, you’re bullying Grace again!” a voice rang out, full of righteous indignation.

Grace tilted her head and saw it was Samuel Summers.

His brows were tightly furrowed, radiating righteousness—he really looked like a hero saving the damsel.

They were both children of the Four Great Houses and had grown up together.

So Samuel Summers knew all about the Zhu family’s situation, including how Queenie Zhu and her cousins often bullied Grace.

“Samuel Summers, this is Zhu family business! What’s it to you? Get out of the way!” Queenie Zhu shouted.

“I won’t let you bully her,” Samuel Summers said firmly. “If you’ve got the guts, beat me first!”

“Hmph! Who do you think you are?” Queenie Zhu sneered. “Everyone knows you’re just the loser my aunt dumped!”

Samuel Summers’s face turned ugly.

“Queenie Zhu, did you eat shit for breakfast?” Grace snapped. “Go home and rinse your mouth!”

“You!” Queenie Zhu lunged at Grace.

But Samuel Summers blocked her.

They exchanged a few moves, and Samuel Summers forced Queenie Zhu back several steps, nearly making her fall.

Samuel Summers, like Queenie Zhu, had an Earth Spirit Root. But he was a few years older and much stronger—already at the fourth tier.

“Queenie, let’s go!” Jenny Zhu supported Queenie Zhu. “You’re bleeding so much. Let’s bandage you up—no need to waste time with these losers!”

Queenie Zhu was in real pain, clutching her wound. She glared at the little Antler Serpent as if she wanted to eat it, then left with her servants.

Grace thanked Samuel Summers: “Big Brother Samuel, thank you!”

“No need to thank me,” Samuel Summers replied. “Are you here for the notice too?”

Grace shook her head. “I wanted to buy some medicine for my mom at the pharmacy, but the road was blocked. So I came to check it out.”

Samuel Summers nodded. “I’m free right now. Why don’t I go with you to the pharmacy?”
