Beneath Mirror Lake, There Is a Volcano

Riverdale Experimental High School, Administration Building, fifth floor, midsection.

A deep crimson wooden door labeled 'Principal's Office' stood in the hallway. It was identical to the other wooden doors, but its label made it stand out.

"Principal's Office."

Andrew Han took a deep breath, walked up to the door, and gently knocked.

After a moment, a neatly dressed middle-aged man in a suit opened the door, looking at Andrew Han with suspicion... In an instant, his expression hardened and he said sternly, "Which class are you from?"

There was a hint of displeasure in his words.

A student in a blue-and-white school uniform, coming to knock on the principal's office door? What kind of behavior was this?

Andrew Han spoke softly, "I'm a student from Class 7, Grade 12. I want to transfer to the martial arts track and hope to get the principal's signature."

He knew very well that the middle-aged man who opened the door was not the principal—likely the principal's assistant or an office staff member. What he needed was the principal's signature, specifically Principal Eugene Yu of Riverdale Experimental High School.

The next moment.

The middle-aged man frowned and reprimanded, "Class 7? Your homeroom teacher is Li Ming, right? I'll ask her about this this afternoon. What's going on with you? Go back to class immediately!"

"Martial arts track?"

"Utter nonsense!"

Bang!

He slammed the deep crimson wooden door shut, leaving Andrew Han standing outside.

What?

Andrew Han's expression changed slightly, his heart skipping a beat... He instantly realized he was facing the worst possible outcome.

"From my previous life in the workplace, I learned the hardest people to deal with aren't the real leaders, but the so-called 'petty officials.' These people, armed with a bit of authority, are eager to flaunt their power, judge everything by their own standards, and never allow for any explanation."

"Thankfully, there aren't many of these petty officials."

Andrew Han gritted his teeth, stepped back a few paces, leaned against the cold wall, and took a deep breath. "Yet at such a critical moment, I ran into exactly this kind of situation!"
