"If this demon god statue can revive, then the others are likely to come back to life too! This one was unlucky—its body turned to stone and got teleported here, only to crash its head right into the Imperial Gate Divine Saber. But most of the other statues buried across Everpeace are perfectly intact!"
Quinn Shepherd's heart grew cold. Aside from this unlucky statue, the one beneath Sumeru Mountain at the Great Thunder Sound Temple was also in trouble.
That statue rose straight out of the ground and rammed itself into Sumeru Mountain. The Sumeru Mountain at the Great Thunder Sound Temple is, in essence, the same as the Sumeru Mountain of the Buddhist realm—so crashing into it was like smashing straight into the Buddhist world itself. The results could only be disastrous.
But the other statues didn’t have such misfortune—they emerged all over the world, perfectly intact. Each statue was so massive and heavy it was nearly impossible to move, so Emperor Evan ordered heavy guards stationed around every single one.
But after experiencing this statue’s revival firsthand, Quinn knew just how terrifying these things were. If they all woke up—even without catastrophe divine weapons—it would spell doom for Everpeace!
"If Tanner Shue doesn’t show up soon, I’ll have to go alone..."
Just as the thought crossed his mind, divine light flooded down from the sky. A towering godly figure reached out from the radiance, grasping for the Imperial Gate Divine Saber buried in the earth!
"The Netherworld Heavenly King is here!"
Quinn’s heart leapt with joy. He looked up to see Tanner Shue seizing the Imperial Gate Divine Saber, chanting under his breath. The saber rapidly shrank in his hands—soon, it was only a few dozen yards long.
Tanner Shue stowed the godly blade, careful not to touch its edge. "You two stay here. I’ll go deal with the Netherworld disciples!" With that, he soared skyward, vanishing with the saber in a blaze of radiance.
Quinn was about to call out to stop him, but Tanner was already gone.
Frowning, Quinn shot into the air, leaving the underground chamber. In the distance, he saw a streak of rainbow light racing eastward.
Suddenly, his Glutton Dragon Pouch trembled. A rumble of thunder echoed from within. Startled, Quinn hurriedly dumped out the contents—only to see the Five-Thunder War Gourd sparking with wild lightning. The Celestial Phenomenon Weapon was on the verge of losing control!
"The five great cloud-thunders are about to be triggered."
Cyrus Qi’s face turned grim. He sighed, "Quinn, Everpeace is no longer a place we can survive. Once the Five-Thunder War Gourd erupts, the land will become a sea of lightning. The Firebell Divine Weapon will go berserk in that thunder sea. And besides the Five-Thunder War Gourd, there’s the Quake Cauldron, the Wind-Gourd, and other Celestial Phenomenon Weapons—if they all detonate, Everpeace will be worse than hell! I’m heading to High Heaven to seek refuge. Second Brother, do you want to come with me? I can take you out of this world to High Heaven. There, at least, you’ll be safe."
Bruno the Dragon-Qilin hesitated, glanced at Quinn, then shook his head. "Wherever Cult Master goes, I go. I’ve mooched too many meals over the years—now that you need me, I can’t just walk away."
Cyrus Qi’s expression grew complicated. He sighed, flames swirling around him as he transformed into a nine-headed phoenix and soared westward. His cry echoed behind him: "Take care of yourselves! Second Brother, don’t you dare die! This is a waist token from the Red Empress line of the Southern Heavens. It might just save your life!"
A waist token spun through the air, landing in Quinn’s hand.
Quinn blinked in surprise, then handed the jade token, carved with nine phoenix heads, to Bruno.
The waist token from Cyrus wasn’t meant for him—it was for Bruno the Dragon-Qilin.
