Slaughter All the Madmen Under Heaven

"What happened?" Seeing Lynn Long suddenly cough up blood, Ryan Ling was shaken. Honestly, he hadn’t expected this—by rights, the lingering backlash from Lord Dragon IV should’ve been cleared from her body, and she should’ve been fully recovered. So why was she spitting blood again? Clearly, this had a deeper meaning.

Because Lily was perfectly fine—completely unharmed—she was just as baffled!

"Let’s get inside the city first!" Ryan didn’t overthink it—the situation was way too weird, and now Lynn Long had already passed out from blood loss. Things were getting seriously dire. He had to find a place to settle down, then figure out what was really going on.

Immortal City was less than a meal’s journey away. Ryan powered up, and in no time reached the city’s edge. This place was absolutely massive—way more grand than Dragon City. Sure, Dragon City was one of the four great cities, but compared to Immortal City, it was nothing. There was just no comparison. And the reason it was called Immortal City was obvious: inside, the city was packed with experts. Saint Immortals were everywhere, but even more important, there were the true top dogs—the Immortal Kings. And there weren’t just one or two; judging by the qi swirling overhead, Ryan guessed there were at least a dozen Immortal Kings up there. Their auras shot straight into the sky, so huge they blanketed the city, making everything feel absolutely insane.

And besides those Immortal Kings, Ryan sensed there were even stronger beings inside the city. These were way above Immortal King level—beings whose lifespans matched heaven and earth itself. What does that even mean? Just think about it: if your lifespan is as long as the cosmos, you’re basically one with the universe. That kind of power is just off the charts!

Ryan knew perfectly well: once you hit Immortal King level, you’re already terrifying—basically top of the food chain in the Immortal World. But if you reach the ‘lifespan of heaven and earth’ realm, you’re pretty much the master of the universe. Ryan couldn’t even imagine how strong those monsters were; if he ever had to fight one, he’d have zero chance, not even a hope of escape—he’d be dead before he could blink!

And if Immortal City was this insane, then Earth City and Heaven City had to be on a whole other level—definitely not places regular people could even dream of touching. Ryan wasn’t about to get cocky.

"Let’s get inside the city first!" Ryan didn’t hesitate for a second. The group had already reached the city gate—this thing was gigantic, towering into the clouds. Even if a million people walked in at once, it’d still be roomy. Tons of buildings inside looked like they were floating among the clouds, giving off a super ethereal vibe. And the wildest part? The whole city was filled with a strange fragrance—just breathing it in made your cultivation rise automatically. No effort, no waiting, just instant power-up!

"This is just unreal!" Ryan had never experienced anything like this before. Clearly, the city was packed with mysteries—probably loaded with artifacts that could boost your strength. Of course, getting inside wasn’t easy. Normal people had no chance. Luckily, Ryan had joined the Elysium Sect ahead of time, so he had the credentials to get in. Even with his Saint Immortal cultivation, he wouldn’t have qualified otherwise. If you tried to force your way in, you’d have to cough up a mountain of Immortal World resources—stuff no average person could ever afford.

"Master, I feel some really mysterious auras in this city. Maybe we’ll find a super powerful body part here!" As soon as Lily entered Immortal City, she piped up excitedly.

"Really?" Ryan got excited hearing that—he hadn’t expected there’d be an ultra-powerful body part hidden in this city. It had to be something way beyond just a hand or foot, probably a chunk of his torso. If he could find it, his strength would skyrocket. Right now, Ryan was only at early-stage Saint Immortal. Even if he burned all his energy and used everything he’d built up from the Dragon City war, at best he’d break through to mid-stage Saint Immortal.

That’s a solid realm—sure, it’s strong. But in Immortal City, it’s still way too weak. There’s no way he could fight the real heavyweights out there. Even if he ran into an Immortal King, he’d be totally outclassed. Only if he could leap straight to Saint Immortal peak would he stand a chance against Immortal Kings. At the highest levels, you can’t just punch above your weight anymore—the gap is just too huge!

As soon as they entered the city, Ryan found a secluded spot to rent. He needed to stay super low-key—only by keeping his head down could he shake off Lord Dragon IV’s pursuit for now. What he really needed was time to scope out the whole city and hunt for anything that could boost his strength!

"Water... water..." Near midnight, Lynn Long—who’d been unconscious all this time—suddenly cried out. Her voice was barely a whisper, weak to the extreme. She was hanging by a thread!

"Quick!" Ryan didn’t hesitate—he immediately poured spiritual liquid into her mouth. The moment it hit, Lynn Long’s condition eased up a bit. She slowly opened her eyes, still dazed and unfocused.

"How are you feeling?" Ryan asked with concern. He was genuinely curious—why had Lynn Long suddenly blacked out? Her injuries should’ve been healed, so it made no sense for her to spit blood out of nowhere. And it was so serious she nearly died!

Just as Lynn Long woke up, she suddenly blurted out, "Someone... someone’s trying to kill me—in the Elysium Sect! They want to steal my Saintess seat. I..."

Lynn Long’s words were frantic, her heart racing. The situation was deadly serious—she’d only barely escaped disaster, and if they didn’t fix this soon, she might not survive!

"Don’t panic, just take it slow!" Ryan was seriously startled—he hadn’t expected things to be this bad. Trouble inside the Elysium Sect? He’d counted on the sect as his safety net in Immortal City, maybe even as a source of resources to help him break through. But now, with Lynn Long being targeted for a brutal setup, if he didn’t act fast, she might still end up dead!
