His Scent Is Addictively Intoxicating
"Even divine weapons probably can't break through this..." Lily Bai stared at it. "That's incredible! Could it be... the master Rune Master who made the bracelet under Damian Black's pillow lives here?"
Unconsciously, Lily Bai wandered a few steps toward the manor, stopping by a screen wall.
This screen wall stood outside the main gate, serving to regulate the flow of feng shui.
Purple vines crawled all over the wall.
It was probably another plant unique to the Primeval Demon Wilds—Lily had never seen anything like it.
She didn’t pay it much mind, just stood by the screen wall and reached out to touch it.
She didn’t expect that the vines on the wall seemed to have gained sentience!
Just one touch, and the vines wrapped around her like spirit snakes, binding her tight.
And they started draining her spiritual power.
The spiritual energy in her golden core poured out like sand through an hourglass—she couldn’t stop it at all.
"Ahhhhh!" Lily screamed.
A flash of lightning struck—the purple vines convulsed and finally flung her away.
And then someone caught her.
Damian Black held her by the waist, his face dark.
"Uh... thanks." Lily felt utterly embarrassed.
"I told you not to go near." Damian frowned. "That's a Soulbane Vine. It can drain even the Divine Race dry."
"Oh..." He still hadn’t let go of her.
"Are you alright?"
"I'm fi—" His scent was seriously intoxicating.
"What are you thinking about?"
"Huh? Nothing!" Lily jerked upright.
Damian let go of her and went to check on Azure Flame.
Azure Flame’s sweat had already evaporated—she looked much better now.
"How are you feeling?" Damian asked.
Azure Flame slowly opened her eyes and looked at Lily: "Pretty good! This is even more practical than medicine."
Lily flashed her a smile.
"Come on, let’s have a bonfire party tonight," Azure Flame said as she stood up.
"Bonfire party? Is it some kind of holiday today?" Lily asked.
"Every time we drive off the divine troops, we celebrate a little."
Lily: "...Honestly, if you just stay inside the array, no one can break in. Why bother fighting at all?"
"If people come to our door looking for trouble, what, are we supposed to hide inside like turtles? Of course we fight! We beat them so badly they run off scared and never dare come back," Azure Flame said.
"Oh..."
That night, the Demon Emperor's Palace plaza erupted into a lively bonfire party.
Four huge bonfires blazed on the vast plaza.
Demon beasts in human form gathered around the fires, sitting on the ground and making a raucous crowd.
Lily found a random corner, sat on the steps, and watched from afar.
Since Damian hadn’t sealed her cultivation, she opened her Heaven’s Eye and started scanning everyone.
Checking out what kinds of demons were present.
First up, naturally, was Damian.
She stared for a while... all she saw was a swirling mass of red mist—couldn’t make out anything else.
Even the Heaven’s Eye couldn’t pierce it... Damian really was a monster.
Next was Azure Flame—Lily had already seen her true form, so nothing new there.
Third, she looked at the stunning red-robed youth, Skye.
He was also just a mass of red mist.
He could interfere with the Heaven’s Eye, just like Damian.
These two were seriously weird!
Could they be brothers?
She scanned the rest—sure enough, all sorts of demon beasts had gathered, and it was a spectacular sight.
But honestly, compared to the Divine Race, Lily felt like this was just a ragtag bunch.
Whether it was weapons or cultivation, they were no match for the Divine Race, who were born with divine veins.
Really, they were relying on Damian, Azure Flame, and Baxa to hold things together.
Plus the Wildlands Tribulation Thunder Array, which was like a natural moat keeping all enemy troops out.
"Lily Bai." Azure Flame came over just then and called her.
"Hm?" Lily looked up at her.
"What are you looking at?"
"Just checking out what kinds of demons serve under the Demon Emperor," Lily replied.
