Turned Black

"I gave her the Red Truth Pill and found out a lot—it turns out Sophie Shang was behind all those schemes," Grace said. "She went to great lengths trying to break us up. So I bet the High Priest's prophecy is fake too!"

"The High Priest would never dare lie in his divination. Otherwise, he'd suffer a backlash."

"But what if he risks the backlash just to lie? If marrying his daughter to you as Crown Princess means she'll become Divine Empress, maybe he thinks it's worth it!"

Evan Xiao said nothing.

Grace took out the Divine Crimson Pill and said, "This is the Divine Crimson Pill—it's made for the Divine Race. Give it to Sophie Shang, and you'll know the truth."

But Evan Xiao didn't take it. He just looked at her and said, "So what exactly are you trying to do?"

"Huh? I came to Drake Abyss to expose her schemes!" Grace said angrily. "I won't let her get away with it."

"And then?" Evan Xiao asked.

"Then? Then... I'll just go home!"

Evan Xiao's face darkened. "No need."

"Huh? What do you mean, 'no need'?"

"I trust the High Priest."

"But... even if it's not about their lies, you can't marry a woman you don't love. Are you really going to spend your whole life with her?"

"How do you know I don't love her?"

Grace: "...You don't love her! I know you."

"Love or not, whoever I marry is none of your business! Since you don't want to stay in Drake Abyss, then go! I don't want you bothering my fiancée!"

Grace bit her lip, turned, and started to leave.

She'd only taken a couple of steps when something shattered behind her.

Grace glanced back at him.

There were two porcelain bottles by his side, both broken.

She suddenly remembered the time when he'd been afflicted by the Love Hex, but refused to let her remove it.

All those wounds, the pain again and again...

Grace stopped walking and turned back.

"Still not leaving?"

Grace looked at him, then suddenly stood on tiptoe—and kissed him.

Evan Xiao's heart trembled violently.

It felt just like a dream.

She'd drugged him before kissing him.

He wanted to push her away, but his whole body went numb—he couldn't move at all...

Her soft lips kissed him a few times, then Grace pulled away.

"Chloe Zhu, how many lives do you think you have, daring to assault the Crown Prince?"

Grace gave him a playful smile and placed her small hand on his collar.

Then, she suddenly ripped open his shirt.

On his chest, six bold words appeared: 'Evan Xiao loves Chloe Zhu.'

Those words were originally red.

Now they've turned black.

Grace's lips curled in a sly smile. "Your Highness, do you really want to take those six words into the bridal chamber on your wedding night?"

Evan Xiao stared at the now-black words, his face dark. "So?"

"The Fairy Fruit here is amazing for cultivation! I'm about to reach Spirit Master Grandmaster—give me a month, tops!" Grace said. "When the time comes, you help me, I help you. Isn't that perfect?"

"So that's why you came to Drake Abyss?"

"Yep!" Grace said. "I came here just to sleep with you—so I can ascend!"

"Chloe Zhu, don't even think about it! Tomorrow I'll toss you out!" Evan Xiao waved his hand, and Chloe Zhu was sent flying.

Big Scarlet swooped in to catch her and carried her back to the King's Spirit Tree.

Evan Xiao looked down at the six words on his chest.

He touched his lips, frowning deeply.
