Formulating the Antidote

1/4/2026

Cecilia Gu gazed expectantly into the eyes of the director of the Yun Research Center.

All her hopes rested on him now.

The director thought for a moment and said, "As long as we can analyze the components of this medicine, we can formulate the corresponding antidote. However, the drug has been in the body for over twenty years, so it's likely to have changed inside the body..."

Cecilia immediately took a stack of lab reports from her bag and handed them to the director. "These are the current medical analyses. The patient's bodily functions are beginning to deteriorate rapidly."

The director's brows furrowed immediately. "Why so fast? Normally, the decline shouldn't happen this quickly."

"The patient just underwent a miscarriage procedure," Cecilia added.

The director's brows instantly relaxed. "I see, that explains it. When the body's progesterone and estrogen surge, it can trigger the drug's effects. I know what to do now. Please wait a moment, I'll go to the lab to prepare the medicine."

Hearing that there was still hope, Cecilia finally felt her heart settle down a little.

Mrs. Yun brought Cecilia a cup of hot milk and said, "Don't worry, everything will be fine. The Yun Family's pharmaceuticals never make mistakes."

Cecilia felt a little more at ease, reaching out to take the milk. "Mom, don't worry about me. I'm fine."

Mrs. Yun lovingly stroked Cecilia's head. "Silly child, you're my daughter—and now you're a mother yourself. But in my eyes, you'll always be my little girl."

Cecilia reached out and gently touched her belly, wholeheartedly agreeing with those words.

A few hours later, the director returned with two vials of reagents.

Following behind him were two lab animals—a rabbit and a monkey.

The director placed the vials on the rack, then took two syringes and injected the medicine into the rabbit and the monkey.

"I've simulated the timing and symptoms of the drug's onset, and now I'm using them for the experiment. After all, this medicine was used without any clinical trials when it was first produced, so there's definitely risk involved," the director explained. "For now, we can only use animals to simulate the drug's effects. If you notice anything unusual, Miss Cecilia Yun, please let me know so I can stop the experiment immediately."

With that, the director pushed the cages and rack into the inner laboratory.

Cecilia watched the experiment progress on the large screen outside.

To be honest, she was really nervous.

If the research fails... she truly wouldn't know how to face Jane.

The director and his assistant secured the two animals to the beds and began administering the drug.

On Cecilia's computer, the physiological signs of both animals quickly appeared. She could clearly see their organs rapidly aging.

Mr. Yun compared Jane's declining vital signs on the side, and when the two animals' decline matched Jane's, he immediately made a gesture toward the lab.

The researcher quickly took the reagent and slowly injected it into the two animals with a syringe.

Cecilia immediately noticed that the aging signs in the animals' organs stopped, and their vitality began to return.

What a powerful drug!

It's precise to this degree!

Cecilia was truly amazed today, finally understanding just how formidable the Yun Family's mastery of pharmaceuticals was.

As time passed, the two animals gradually calmed down, and their vital signs returned to normal.

We did it!" Cecilia jumped up in joy. "That's wonderful! We finally succeeded!

In the lab, the director and his assistant researcher also high-fived to celebrate.

Mr. Yun immediately asked the director to prepare a separate dose of the drug for Jane.

After carefully placing it in the fridge, Cecilia didn't linger and was ready to leave.

When the three of them reached the ground level, Cecilia noticed that there was major construction going on the island.

What's going on?

Just two days ago when I came here, the island was barren. Why is there suddenly construction?

Cecilia turned to look at Mr. Yun, who was also puzzled.

As the head of the Yun Family, he didn't even know that his own island was under construction?

That doesn't make sense!

Cecilia frowned. Could it be... a command from Madam Yun?

Before Cecilia could ponder for long, someone quickly approached and said to Cecilia, Mr. Yun, and Mrs. Yun: "Sir, Madam, Miss, Madam Yun is waiting for you up ahead."

The three looked at each other, all showing confusion.

Since Madam Yun was already here, they had no reason not to go over.

Cecilia followed Mr. Yun and Mrs. Yun into a tent, while countless planes unloaded building materials behind them.

As soon as she entered the tent, Cecilia saw Madam Yun standing to the side, directing the servants to arrange furniture.

Is she... planning to live here permanently?

The weather here isn't even that good. Even if it's for vacation, why vacation above the research center?

The three of them were all confused at this moment.

Madam Yun looked up and saw the three of them, her gaze falling on the small box in Cecilia's hand. She immediately said, "Did you get it?"

Cecilia frowned but still answered her question, "Yes, I've got it. Grandma, what does this mean?"

It means exactly what you see," Madam Yun sighed. "Starting today, the Yun Family's belongings will gradually be moved here. Except for the ancestral hall and the house, all important items have already been packed."

Mom, what on earth is going on? Why are we packing up and moving all the Yun Family's things here?" Mr. Yun was still confused. "We're living well in the city. Why move here? We have plenty of businesses at the house..."

Madam Yun set down her teacup and spoke softly, "Let's wait a little longer. Xiaoqing will be back soon. We'll talk when she's here."

It's all gone now." Madam Yun interrupted him. "Xiaoqing is handling the follow-up issues."

Aunt?" Cecilia couldn't help but ask, "What is Aunt handling? What exactly happened? Grandma, are you still going to keep things from us?"

I never intended to hide anything. Once your aunt returns, you'll know everything." Madam Yun said calmly. "Construction here will take half a month to build houses suitable for everyone. The building components are pre-made and delivered by special planes. It's like assembling blocks—very quick. We'll have new homes soon."

Cecilia felt more and more confused.

No one knew what Aunt had been busy with these days. Even with Cecilia's return to the Yun Family, such a big event, she hadn't been able to come back.

Could it be that the issue Aunt brings back this time is what she'll tell everyone about soon?

Luckily, Jane's problem was completely solved, so Cecilia finally felt she hadn't let down her adoptive mother's kindness.

How dramatic could the other issues be?

Thinking this, Cecilia gradually calmed down.

Indonesia is a tropical country, so the temperature on this island is always high.

Fortunately, the tent has a cooling system—otherwise, it would be unbearable.

Didn't you notice the research center is underground?

There are plants on the surface, but compared to the glaring sun, it's much more comfortable underground.

While Cecilia was lost in thought, the sound of airplane engines came from outside.

Madam Yun's expression turned serious. "Finally, they're here! It seems things outside haven't gone smoothly!"

For some reason, a feeling of unease flashed through Cecilia's heart.

Could something really have happened outside?

But what could possibly have happened?

Up to now, Cecilia had no idea that the outside world had been completely turned upside down!

A mysterious company had suddenly risen, relentlessly attacking the Yun Family and causing their stock to plummet!

Yun Xiaoqing had gone specifically to handle this matter.
