Danger of Being Too Handsome

2/14/2026

Inside the canyon, Serena Feng and William are resting and recovering in peace. Outside the canyon, Felix Fuller is miserable, cursing Serena and William half to death in his mind.

He has no idea what kind of trouble Serena Feng and this William she’s searching for have gotten into, or who they’ve managed to offend. The people chasing them are relentless—especially that purple-clad woman, whose unreasonable, spoiled behavior rivals even his own sister, Sufi.

He’s repeated a thousand times that he doesn’t know any William, and he’s not here to look for him, but these people just won’t let him go. They insist on catching him, forcing him to run all over the canyon—he’s half tempted to jump down into the gorge himself…

Storm Cloud Bu is suffering just as much. After receiving Lance’s order to send top experts to protect Serena Feng, he personally set out, racing toward Taroko Grand Canyon without rest, hoping to keep Serena safe, earn merit, and be allowed back into the city. But things didn’t go as planned…

Damn it, can someone tell him where all these pests are coming from? Who exactly did Serena Feng offend? He hasn’t even blinked on this journey—every time he does, he runs into another ambush.

Storm Cloud Bu even suspects Lance is messing with him, using him as a human shield to take all the hits for Serena Feng. Otherwise, how do these people seem to know he’s here to protect her? They’ve tangled him up so badly he hasn’t even caught a glimpse of Serena.

His swordplay remains calm and steady, but his lips are so anxious they’re breaking out. When he reached Easestream City and heard that Serena Feng and a strange man checked into the Prefect’s Manor—and that the manor caught fire that night, killing the prefect’s entire family—he wished he could sprout wings and fly straight to Serena.

Serena Feng, you’d better be all right. If something happens to you, I’m doomed!

“Hyah, hyah, hyah…” Storm Cloud Bu wishes his horse were a Bloodsweat Charger, able to run a thousand miles a day.

...

Who could have guessed that such a trivial incident would land him in mortal danger? On the way back, he ran into that purple-clad girl again.

This time, she was surrounded by a group of adults. As soon as they saw him, they demanded he go with them and marry the purple-clad girl. Their tone was arrogant, their attitude hostile.

William refused, so they tried to snatch him by force. Their martial arts were formidable—if the purple-clad girl hadn’t ordered them not to hurt him, he’d already be dead.

Afterwards, he learned the purple-clad girl’s name was Sienna Skyvault, daughter of the Skyvault Palace Sect’s master.

Skyvault Palace Sect resides atop the highest immortal mountain in the Nine Provinces Realm, always secluded from the world and averse to conflict. In the Former Dynasty, even the Lan royal family and the Phoenixfield kings had to show them respect. Now, the four emperors and the Nine City Lords treat them with even greater courtesy, all because they never meddle in court affairs.

After that, Sienna’s people chased William relentlessly. Though Sienna came from a prestigious background, her temperament was vicious—aloof, spoiled, and cruel. She took pleasure in tormenting others; even though she’d set her sights on William, she enjoyed seeing him humiliated and desperate.

They drove William all the way to Taroko Grand Canyon. During a fight, he slipped and fell into the gorge, and Sienna chased him down. He and his guards hid within the canyon.

When they couldn’t find anyone inside the canyon, Sienna wasn’t angry at all. She simply waited at the rim for them to recover and climb back up, ready to defeat them again.

This happened several times. Sienna treated it like some amusing game, ordering her people not to search the canyon—just wait on top, then catch William and his men when they climbed up.

She refused to believe William could stay down there forever. Her strategy was sound; William’s group truly couldn’t remain in the canyon indefinitely. But...

But who was William? Though he looked like a scholar, his pride was no less than that of a king. How could he tolerate being snatched and dominated by a woman, forced to bend and submit? He’d rather die than compromise.

He couldn’t win, couldn’t escape, and refused to give in. His guards were dead or wounded, and he wasn’t much better off. William knew if this went on, they’d lose for sure. Once captured by Skyvault Palace Sect, those people had plenty of ways to force him into ‘marital consummation’ and make him marry that woman.

So William and his men waited at the bottom of the canyon. In fact, by then they couldn’t climb up anymore—Sienna had overestimated their strength, and his guards were no match for Skyvault Palace’s experts, who showed no mercy.

After their last fall, they never managed to climb up again. Waiting like that, all of them were slowly exhausted to death—until Serena arrived.

‘So it’s beauty that brings disaster—being too handsome is a kind of sin for men too.’ After hearing the whole story, Serena studied William’s face seriously.

Not bad, not bad—even this thin, he still hadn’t lost his charm. He really did have the kind of looks that could drive women crazy. But nearly dying over something like this was just too ridiculous.

Serena couldn’t shake the feeling that things weren’t as simple as William thought...
