Watch How I Deal With You

12/19/2025

Grace really wanted to kick her out.

But she’d only just returned, and in two or three days, once the Old Madam’s birthday was over, she’d have to go back to Moonwater Abbey.

So she couldn’t afford any slip-ups. She just said coolly, "Mrs. Hu, you go out first. I need to change clothes."

"...Oh! Alright!" Mrs. Hu left, looking a little awkward.

Once the door was shut, Mrs. Hu spat viciously on the floor and muttered under her breath, "She gives me attitude the moment she’s back! Not even a smile! Just a useless good-for-nothing! Does she really think she’s something special?"

...

Grace changed into a light pink dress with floral embroidery. It wasn’t plain, but not flashy either—just enough to be pleasing to the eye. Then she headed out again.

She was going to see her mother.

"Hope, Claire, come with me to see my mother," Grace said.

"Yes, miss." The two maids followed her out.

"Miss, let this old servant come with you too!" Mrs. Hu chimed in.

"Mrs. Hu, I haven't had your Four Happiness Meatballs in ages. Why don't you stay and make them for me? We'll have them for lunch," Grace said.

"There's still plenty of time. I can go with you to see Madam and come back to cook!" Mrs. Hu said, already moving to follow her.

Grace glanced at her but didn’t stop her.

If she wants to tag along so badly, then let her!

Grace’s mother lived in a place called Jade Hall.

On the way, they passed through a stunning Lakeside Gallery.

The Lakeside Gallery was beautifully built, winding its way over a clear lake.

Violets grew along the shore, and the lake was full of water lilies. They said, before her mother fell ill, this was her favorite spot.

Grace idly played with a small stone in her hand.

When they reached the Lakeside Gallery, at its narrowest stone bridge, Grace casually tossed the pebble right under Mrs. Hu’s feet—so sneakily that no one noticed.

Mrs. Hu’s foot slipped and she shrieked, flailing her arms wildly as she lost her balance.

There was a low railing here.

Just as she was about to grab the railing, Grace spun around, feigning panic, and reached out to help her. "Careful, that’s dangerous!"

But somehow, with that "help," Mrs. Hu went "splash" right into the water.

The water was deep—deep enough to drown someone.

Hope and Claire immediately started panicking.

One was yelling for help, the other was just screaming.

There was no one else around—just the three of them, and none of them could swim.

Luckily, Mrs. Hu knew just enough to keep afloat.

She soon popped up, struggling to the edge of the gallery, calling out, "Claire, Hope, hurry and pull me up!"

The two girls helped her out, and Mrs. Hu just kept gasping, "Oh! Oh!"

Seeing her so bedraggled, Grace secretly chuckled.

Then she put on a sour face and said, "Mrs. Hu, you’re getting old. You can’t even walk straight anymore! I told you not to tag along, but you just had to come! Now you’ve fallen in the water—if anything had happened to you, what would we do?"

"No, that’s not—" Mrs. Hu wanted to say she was fine, but Grace had grabbed her too hard and actually pushed her in.

"No ‘but’s!" Grace cut her off, her tone firm. "Go back! Take the side path, and don’t let anyone see you! If Grandmother finds out you almost drowned on her birthday, she’ll say I’m bad luck! If that happens, just wait and see how I deal with you!"
