Did you think clearing the room was the end of it?
Heh, how naive.
Joe and Sean both shook their heads and went to the restroom to wash their hands.
Cecilia Gu turned her head and looked at Charles Yin with a hint of grievance.
"This is a crucial time for the baby's development. Food from outside isn't clean enough—it's safer to have our own chefs," Charles Yin explained calmly.
Cecilia shot him a glare. They were still in the cold war after their argument, so she ignored him!
Soon enough, the chefs wheeled in beautifully prepared dishes.
Except for the tables and chairs, everything else—the tablecloths, cutlery, and napkins—was brought in by themselves.
With just a raise of her hand, someone immediately brought over a disinfected towel for Cecilia to wipe her hands.
Luckily, Cecilia was already used to all this and didn’t find it strange. She went through the motions smoothly.
When Cecilia looked up, she saw Qiao Qi's face twisted in disbelief.
"What is it?" Cecilia couldn't help but ask.
Joe saw Cecilia hesitate, so he reached for another shrimp, but before his chopsticks got close, Charles knocked them away.
Cecilia looked genuinely confused. "You guys don't do this?"
Joe glared silently at Charles, but Charles didn’t even bother to look at him.
Sean sighed, "You’ll get used to it, Joe. If Cecilia likes something, don’t expect to get even a bite."
Damn, all this time, she actually thought all rich people acted like this!
Turns out, it was only Charles Yin who had this particular habit!
Exactly!
Before every meal, he insists on using three towels to wipe his hands—and each towel gets thrown away after a single use!
What a waste!
No, wait, what a hassle!
Joe Qi and Sean Kerr both shook their heads and headed to the restroom to wash their hands.
Charles Yin kept arguing, "Those cheap hand soaps will ruin your skin..."
Cecilia Gu ranted in her mind: Are you serious? I almost believed all rich people do this! Turns out, it’s just you!
Still, Cecilia had to admit her hands were really well taken care of.
She was starting to like her own hands now.
Charles peeled a big shrimp and placed it in front of Cecilia.
Cecilia froze.
Weren’t we supposed to be fighting?
Weren’t we supposed to be giving each other the silent treatment?
Should I eat this shrimp or not?
Joe Qi saw Cecilia hesitate, so he reached for another shrimp, but before his chopsticks got close, Charles knocked them away.
"That’s Cecilia’s. She only likes Russian Magadan deep-sea shrimp," Charles said bluntly.
Joe Qi glared silently at Charles, but Charles didn’t even bother to look at him.
Sean Kerr sighed, "You’ll get used to it, Joe. If Cecilia likes something, don’t expect to get even a bite."
Cecilia wished she could just disappear into a hole!
Weren’t we supposed to be fighting and ignoring each other?
Oh well, I’ll eat it. I am kind of hungry anyway.
Charles watched Cecilia eat the shrimp he peeled for her, and couldn’t hide the smile in his eyes.
