Chapter 792: Damn Rats
The Black Dragon Warlord was missing an arm and a leg, his chest caved in. As for Duncan, both his legs had vanished, his lower body shrouded in thick black smoke.
"Damn rat! I failed to kill you last time, and now you dare show up again, dare to pit me against this lunatic in a deathmatch? You're dying today!"
In Duncan's eyes, black flames roared like a cave, and his furious howl made Leon's ears ring.
Hearing Duncan's words, the Black Dragon Warlord—now somewhat sane—instantly flew into a rage.
"Damn! Damn! You're dead! You dared use me—Guridan wouldn't even dare! Today, no one can save you!"
As he spoke, the Black Dragon Warlord was lifted into the air by a mass of black smoke. Missing an arm and a leg, even with his chest bones broken in who knows how many places, he still hadn't lost his fighting spirit.
On the other side, Duncan also rose into the air. Both his legs below the thighs were gone, the wounds covered in black smoke as if constantly repairing themselves.
The two stopped attacking each other, instead flying into the air, facing Leon.
Seeing this, cold sweat began to drip down Leon's face.
Damn, this is bad. Really, really bad...
Before Leon could react, the Black Dragon Warlord struck first. Billowing black smoke behind him shot up like a beacon, and in midair, a massive black cloud—hundreds of meters wide—appeared.
In an instant, countless lava meteors, each over ten meters wide and trailing long tails of black smoke, came crashing down toward Leon, blotting out the sky.
Flames erupted all over Leon, and he instantly transformed into his elemental avatar. But as he stepped back, using his Mana Harness to analyze the attack, he realized all those massive lava meteors were targeting the space behind him!
Hundreds of lava meteors formed a zone of indiscriminate destruction, completely cutting off any chance for Leon to escape backward.
Leon cast Sea of Flames, and instantly, the area hundreds of meters ahead turned into a blazing inferno. He used Flame Blink to dart forward at high speed.
Just then, seven or eight massive ice spikes, each over eight meters long, came crashing down from the sky in a row.
A series of loud thuds echoed as eight huge black ice spikes landed ahead, forming a cage-like blockade.
Seeing those eight ice spikes—each separated by dozens of meters—Leon’s face changed dramatically. Without thinking, he retreated, not even considering squeezing through the gaps.
Leon had just Flame Blinked back over twenty meters when runes suddenly appeared on the ice spikes. Instantly, everything within dozens of meters was frozen solid. Even the flames from Sea of Flames were instantly sealed away as the icy shockwave swept through.
Those ordinary flames didn’t even have a chance to go out!
Cold sweat kept streaming down Leon’s forehead, only to be evaporated by the flames around him before it could even fall.
The worst-case scenario had arrived...
The Black Dragon Warlord, once mad, had regained his senses. Even if he was still a bit deranged, he could now tell right from wrong...
Duncan’s wanted to kill me for ages. Now that the Black Dragon Warlord is lucid, he’s calmed down from his rampage. This is seriously bad news...
Leon turned into a flame elemental, constantly flickering from place to place, never staying in one spot for even a second.
Even though the Black Dragon Warlord and Duncan were both badly wounded and their power had dropped sharply, a dying camel is still bigger than a horse. After a thousand years of accumulation, Duncan would’ve broken through to Sky Rank long ago—if not for that enormous heart holding him back. Now, he’s got one foot in the Sky Rank.
The Black Dragon Warlord, possessed by evil, had already reached Sky Rank. Even if his grasp of supernatural power was far inferior to Guridan’s, he could still use that berserk strength to fight Guridan to a standstill.
If he weren’t so crazy and out of his mind, Guridan would never have been able to suppress the Black Dragon Warlord with a magic artifact!
Even after being suppressed, the Black Dragon Warlord could still maintain the strongest power below Sky Rank.
The two fought, both suffering heavy injuries, but in the end, all they got was being seriously wounded.
Now, seeing the power they could still muster, Leon realized that even with their strength drastically reduced, they were still on par with ordinary Ninth-Rank Title Archmages!
And with their understanding of power, they could wield the same strength far better than other Ninth-Rank Title Archmages!
The Black Dragon Warlord’s spells were much weaker than before, but still more than Leon could handle.
With just one spell—lava meteor—the Black Dragon Warlord sent massive meteors raining down from the sky. It looked like a curtain of molten rock behind Leon, impossible to break through.
If Leon got even a little closer, that curtain of lava meteors would close in, forcing him into submission.
Ahead, Duncan kept casting Sky-Splitting Ice Spike—black ice spikes several meters long fell from the sky. There weren’t many at once, maybe a dozen, each spaced dozens of meters apart.
But Leon didn’t dare gamble. Duncan’s mastery of abyssal ice magic had far surpassed the Title Archmage level. Especially since he could condense Arctic Freeze Rune into a symbol and imprint it on the Sky-Splitting Ice Spike. That was terrifying.
Because if Duncan wanted, no one could tell if a Sky-Splitting Ice Spike had an Arctic Freeze Rune secretly infused within.
The power of that rune was completely hidden—there was no way to detect it before it exploded.
Compared to the visible danger behind, the unpredictable threat ahead was far more terrifying.
Leon’s expression was grim—if he got hit by Arctic Freeze Rune, even for half a second, the Black Dragon Warlord and Duncan could drown him in a hundred spells during that time!

Thirty seconds passed, but neither the Black Dragon Warlord nor Duncan launched a direct assault. Instead, they worked together to close in from both sides, tightening the encirclement.
The Black Dragon Warlord’s face twisted with malice, his gaze toward Leon full of venomous hatred.
"Damn rat, you dare play tricks on me? Let’s see what you’ve got left—today, you’ll learn that against absolute power, every little scheme is worthless!"
Floating in midair, the Black Dragon Warlord clenched his teeth so hard they creaked. Ever since arriving at the Dark Elf enclave, his mind had been clouded. Especially after fighting Guridan, he’d lost all reason. Now, with his senses mostly returned, he finally understood what had happened.
Leon had lured him here with a flimsy excuse, tricking him more than once along the way, and now he’d ended up in a fight with that Ashen Orc, both sides left crippled and missing limbs.
Guridan was right there in the Dark Elf enclave—if not for sensing Guridan’s presence, he’d never have flown into a rage and lost control...
Thinking of all this, the Black Dragon Warlord wanted to tear Leon to pieces. Now he was determined—not knowing what other tricks Leon might have, he’d use the safest method: brute force.
On the other side, Duncan was grinding his teeth so hard his skeletal jaw trembled, the sound of bone scraping on bone echoing harshly.
"Damn rat, you’re too cunning. You got away last time—let’s see you escape now!
You dared use me, made me pay such a heavy price—today, you’ll find out what true despair feels like!"
Black flames flickered madly in Duncan’s eyes. If he still had a body, he’d probably be coughing up blood from sheer anger.
Both Duncan and the Black Dragon Warlord chose to play it safe. With their injuries, they couldn’t completely overwhelm Leon, even though they still had a huge advantage. But Duncan was wary—who knew what tricks this human might still have up his sleeve?
Their cautious approach was making Leon miserable.
Deep within Nightfall Gorge, the width wasn’t huge—at its widest, just a few kilometers. Everywhere, above and below, were the branches of the Tree of Wisdom. With their strength, there was no way to force a way out.
With the Black Dragon Warlord and Duncan closing in from both sides, it was like a shrinking cage. Unless Leon could break through with absolute force, there was no lucky escape.
Leon’s face was cold, his brows furrowed. Seeing the situation, he knew there was no way out except to force his way through. If this kept up, he’d be driven to death.
A light flared on the Doombringer Staff, and the Violet Dragon Avatar appeared with a piercing roar. A noble violet dragon’s phantom rose behind Leon.
In an instant, Leon’s spellcasting soared to the level of a Five-Colored Dragon—his spell power nearly jumped a whole tier!
His left hand’s Death Tome flipped to the Elemental Chapter. Leon poured immense magic into the tome, and the black earth ahead quickly turned to sand. For several meters, the ground became a swirling sand vortex, ready to swallow anything on it.
Roar!
A deep dragon’s roar echoed from the sand vortex as the earth trembled—a massive brown Earth Elemental Dragon, seemingly made of stone, emerged from the swirling sands.
Summoning the Earth Elemental Dragon, Leon instantly cast Flame Blink and leapt onto its back.
Among elemental creatures, earth elementals have the strongest defense. The Earth Elemental Dragon was the mightiest of them all—slowest, weakest in attack, but with an unrivaled innate ability.
Earth Barrier!
This innate earth-type defense spell was said to withstand even spatial rifts. Leon knew that, at its highest level, this ability would evolve into the Crystal Barrier—absolute defense, strong enough to endure the collapse of entire planes.
