Following the Heart

Evan Lin wore a broad smile on his face.

Jack Zhang's expression kept shifting.

The face that had been full of sneers was now gradually twisting in pain.

Jack Zhang felt like he was gripping a pair of iron pincers—the raw strength nearly crushed his hand bones!

Impossible!

Jack Zhang had always been confident in his grip strength, and Evan Lin was just a scrawny high schooler!

Jack Zhang was utterly shocked.

What made Jack Zhang want to cough up blood even more was that Evan Lin’s face was all twisted up, looking like he was in agony.

Come on!

I’m the real victim here, okay!

Jack Zhang wanted to complain, but with Lily Zhong standing nearby, he couldn’t show any pain—otherwise, it’d ruin his image.

But Evan Lin couldn’t care less—he just acted as miserable as possible, and it was all an act.

Lily Zhong, watching Evan Lin’s pained expression, frowned slightly. "That’s enough, Mr. Zhang. I need to start tutoring my student. If you have nothing else, please leave."

Evan Lin let go at just the right moment. Jack Zhang clenched his teeth, barely managing not to cry out.

Jack Zhang nodded. "Sorry, I’ll head out then."

Jack Zhang shot Evan Lin a vicious glare. "This kid’s got a bright future ahead!"

With that, Jack Zhang stormed off in a huff.

Once Jack Zhang left, Evan Lin felt a wave of warmth wrap around his hand.

Lily Zhong gripped Evan Lin’s left palm, her expression apologetic. "Is your hand okay? Thanks for earlier—I really didn’t expect Mr. Zhang to act like that."

It’s fine, really—just a little sore.
