Joe Di finally sensed something amiss. When he first entered the process of nurturing his Dao, he had been completely lucid. In other words, after failing to cross the tribulation and ascend to the Immortal Emperor Realm, he truly began to nurture his own Dao. It was only during this process that the Ninth Prime Law interrupted him and forcibly altered his path.
The Ninth Prime Law most likely did not want him to forge his own Dao, but sought to modify its direction—preferably steering it according to the Ninth Prime Law’s own will.
At this moment, Joe Di could clearly sense that the Ninth Prime Law had stopped emitting Dao marks—in other words, it had ceased altering the direction of his Dao.
However, Joe Di’s Starspace Technique was still merging with the chaotic aura within the Sacred Yin Pearl, continuously eroding the Dao resonance surrounding the Ninth Prime Law. This was no longer a matter of comprehending the Ninth Prime Law—it was the gradual wearing down of its Dao resonance.
If things continued like this, sooner or later the Ninth Prime Law would be completely worn away by Joe Di.
Once again, Joe Di sensed a message from the Ninth Prime Law: If he kept using the Sacred Yin Pearl to erode it, the Sacred Yin Pearl would eventually shatter.
Joe Di sneered inwardly. Even if the Sacred Yin Pearl shattered, he would still grind down the Ninth Prime Law—this thing was nothing but a ticking time bomb.
Today, because he missed Nora Xiu, he forcibly interrupted the formation of his Dao and sensed the malice of the Ninth Prime Law. This silent, insidious change was impossible to guard against—who knew when it would strike again?
Now that he had this opportunity, he was determined to completely eliminate this danger.
Sensing that Joe Di was not only refusing to stop, but was using the Sacred Yin Pearl to erode it even faster, the Ninth Prime Law grew enraged. It began to pulse violently, and waves of Dao marks spread out once more—as if determined to finish what it had started.
Joe Di paid it no mind. The Sacred Yin Pearl was vast and powerful—like the Ninth Prime Law, both were products of the world's genesis. Now, with the Starspace Technique assisting and everything unfolding within Joe Di’s Spiritual Sea, after several hours of deadlock, Joe Di and the Sacred Yin Pearl had gained the upper hand.
The Ninth Prime Law flew into a rage and sent another message to Joe Di. If things continued like this, the final result would be mutual destruction—the Ninth Prime Law, his Spiritual Sea, and the Sacred Yin Pearl would all perish together.
Joe Di’s resolve was unwavering. So what if it ended in mutual destruction? He vaguely sensed that the Ninth Prime Law would never leave his Spiritual Sea—it had nowhere else to go. Since it wouldn’t leave, he had to destroy it. Besides, even if it wanted to leave, he wouldn’t dare let it go.
The thunderous roar within Joe Di’s Spiritual Sea grew louder and louder. Just as the Ninth Prime Law had warned, if things kept going this way, his Spiritual Sea would eventually collapse.
Yet Joe Di continued to wear down the Dao resonance surrounding the Ninth Prime Law as before. He could die—but he would never allow himself to live under the Ninth Prime Law’s control.
If he died, Nora Xiu would likely be able to live out her days safely on Earth. But if he were controlled by the Ninth Prime Law, whether he abandoned Nora Xiu or stayed with her, he would no longer be Joe Di—just a puppet of the Law.
At this moment, Joe Di began to understand why the Cosmos Lord had chosen to abandon the Ninth Prime Law. What kind of person was the Cosmos Lord? How could he not see the Ninth Prime Law’s terrifying power?
It was precisely because the Cosmos Lord saw the strength of the Ninth Prime Law—and knew it was never content, perhaps even capable of developing its own sentience—that he wanted to reduce it to mere chaotic Prime Law energy within the universe.
Unfortunately, he didn’t have the Cosmos Lord’s insight. He had actually believed the Ninth Prime Law was a loyal servant, one that would help him reach the cosmic pinnacle, and that he could then help it teach the Cosmos Lord a lesson. Mutual benefit, or so he thought.
How naive! To think such a proud, golden Prime Law could be tamed, and that his own domineering spirit would allow him to claim it for himself.
The Ninth Prime Law’s pride and arrogance were such that it didn’t even care about the Cosmos Lord. Only by completely submitting to its will would one achieve the outcome the Ninth Prime Law desired. Originally, this was meant to be a gradual process—he would have unwittingly followed the path laid out by the Ninth Prime Law. But unexpectedly, he discovered its intentions and refused to be manipulated any longer.
At this moment, Joe Di’s mastery of arrays had surpassed the Supreme Immortal Ward. As he used the Sacred Yin Pearl to continually erode the Dao resonance of the Ninth Prime Law, a Fivefold Elemental Sealing Array gradually formed within his Spiritual Sea.
The Fivefold Elemental Sealing Array seemed tailor-made to counter powerful chaotic laws like the Ninth Prime Law. Once it took shape, the Dao resonance emitted by the Ninth Prime Law diminished sharply.
“Joe Di, if you continue like this, your Sacred Yin Pearl will shatter, your Spiritual Sea will collapse, and you will undergo Nirvanic dissolution...” Sensing Joe Di’s relentless assault and its own predicament, this time the Ninth Prime Law no longer sent mere messages—it expressed itself in a far more direct fashion.
This new form of communication placed the two of them on entirely different existential planes.
Joe Di was deeply shaken. He had always thought the Ninth Prime Law was just a cosmic principle—capable of sending messages, but unable to form its own Dao body. It was fundamentally different from a human being.
Now, the Ninth Prime Law clearly possessed the rudiments of a Dao body. Joe Di said nothing, focusing solely on wearing it down...
“Joe Di, I am merely a cosmic law. I don’t seek to control you—I’m helping you refine your Dao. You know that without my intervention, your Dao system would be weak. The Dao you forged on your own would be a joke when facing the Cosmos Lord.”
“Joe Di, my disappearance would do you no good. Your comprehension of the laws of heaven and earth would drop by several levels. Your skills in alchemy, arrays, and artifact forging would never reach such heights again...”
“Joe Di, let me go. As before, you walk your path and I walk mine.”
“Joe Di, do you really intend to risk mutual destruction?”

Just as the Ninth Prime Law suspected, Joe Di truly was willing to risk mutual destruction—besides, he might not even lose everything.
The Ninth Prime Law knew all his secrets. How could he allow it to leave with them? If it ever chose another host, Joe Di would become invisible in the eyes of others.
As for his insights into the Dao, they were indeed brought about by the Ninth Prime Law. But by using the Cosmic Membrane to achieve Nirvanic rebirth, Joe Di had also laid the foundation for his own Dao.
The Ninth Prime Law simply didn’t want him to forge his own system—that was why it sought to change him.
His self-forged Dao system might be laughable now, and Joe Di could only chuckle inwardly. Perhaps his current Dao system was insignificant, but as his understanding deepened, so would his Dao.
The Ninth Prime Law was clearly trying to prevent him from forming his own Dao system.
“Boom! Boom! Boom!” The Ninth Prime Law struggled madly, unleashing terrifying runes of killing intent that blasted into Joe Di’s Spiritual Sea. It finally understood—Joe Di would rather risk mutual destruction than let it control his Dao, or let it escape.
With each blast of killing intent, Joe Di spat out a mouthful of blood.
In a brief span, the Cosmic Cocoon enveloping Joe Di turned blood-red.
Joe Di frantically operated the Starspace Technique. Every time he wore down the Dao resonance of the Ninth Prime Law, the attacks against him weakened, and his own cultivation seemed to rise.
...
“Uncle Hong, what’s happening?” The young man attacking the Cosmic Cocoon paused. After nearly a year of assault, they watched the cocoon turn red, as if stained with blood.
“Young Master, we don’t need to attack anymore.” The elder put away his artifact and sighed.
The youth asked in confusion, “Why? This is surely a rare treasure—perhaps even a chaotic artifact. Earlier, we sensed a chaotic aura from it.”
The elder sighed again. “I know. Look, after a year of attacks, the Cosmic Cocoon hasn’t changed at all. Clearly, it’s not something we can break open, nor can we take it away.”
After a pause, the elder continued, “Even if we could take the Cosmic Cocoon, it would only bring disaster. Wherever a cocoon with such Dao resonance goes, it cannot be hidden. Countless powerful cultivators would swarm to claim it...”
“But...” The youth knew his uncle was right, but he couldn’t help feeling unwilling. If they hadn’t encountered this treasure, it would be one thing. But having found it, they simply couldn’t obtain it.
Suddenly, the massive blood-red cocoon grew violent, as if it would burst into the void at any moment. The elder quickly pulled the youth back. “Step away, quickly...”
The youth sensed danger too. He pulled out a crystal ball to record the cocoon, retreating as he did so.
Boom! With a thunderous explosion, the Cosmic Cocoon shot into the void and vanished from their divine senses. The trap array they’d set up before was as fragile as an eggshell before the cocoon.
(That’s all for today’s update. Good night, friends!)
