Savagely Tormenting the Six Husbands (3)
All the staff heard the chaotic 'thump-thump-thud-thud' from upstairs and freaked out, craning their necks to look up at the second floor. Anyone who didn’t know better would seriously think it was an earthquake—like, what kind of drama is blowing up up there?
Meanwhile, five dudes bolted for the private room, so spooked by Liam Willow’s shout that they didn’t even bother finishing getting dressed. Panic mode: activated.
"Ivy!" All the pretty boys shouted at once, then squeezed into the room like sardines.
"Morning, Brothers!" Ivy took a sip of porridge, glanced up at their disaster faces, and flashed a cheeky grin. "Breakfast slaps today!" She grabbed a piece of fried dough and munched away, totally chill.
The five guys whipped their heads around to glare at Liam Willow, eyes so sharp you’d think they were laser beams about to roast a hole in his chest.
"I swear, I’m not lying! Seriously!" The little White Rabbit got so panicked he started stomping his feet, his face turning tomato-red from all the frantic defending.
"Don’t roast Fourth Brother, it was me who told him to call you guys." Ivy stood up and looked at them. "Heard you all pigged out last night, so not hungry for breakfast, huh?"
Everyone glanced at each other, then nodded like bobbleheads.
"Alrighty!" Ivy beamed. "If my Brothers don’t wanna eat, I won’t force it. Anyway, only a few days left before we bounce to a new place—so today, you guys are coming shopping with me!"
"Shopping?" They all glanced at each other, then down at their legs, faces instantly turning tragic.
"What, you don't want to? Fine, I'll just find someone else then." With that, Ivy turned to leave.
"Ivy, you can't go out—you don't know any martial arts!" Adrian Night hurriedly grabbed her hand. Ever since Ivy lost her memory, her skills had become so weak. He knew she'd forgotten how to use her martial arts, and with her looks, if she ran into trouble outside, it could be dangerous.
"I’ll go with you," Butterfly Rogue strolled out from behind the group. The moment he appeared, a spectacularly bruised patch stood out on his handsome face.
Seeing this, Ivy came over, concerned. "Fifth Brother, what happened to your face? Did someone hit you? It’s so swollen!" She reached out and pinched his injured cheek.
"Ow—ow! That hurts!" Butterfly Rogue quickly ducked away, then looked at Ivy and said, "Fifth Brother… Fifth Brother fell asleep last night and rolled out of bed, smashed my face pretty good." But inside he was fuming: Damn you, you snake demon, hitting me with your poison tail out of jealousy! Lucky for you, I can hold my own—just wait and see how you keep up with her today!
"Oh, be more careful next time. Alright, let’s head out." Ivy finished, humming a tune as she led the way.
Seeing this, Liam Willow forced a stiff smile and hurried after her. The other five glanced at each other, then scrambled to follow too.
So, this was the scene on the road: Ivy walked in front, her head shaded by a bamboo hat Adrian Night insisted she wear. Liam Willow was in charge of carrying her things, while Butterfly Rogue grinned beside her, his bruised and swollen face making his smile look utterly ridiculous. As for the other four, their situation was truly tragic.
They were so badly injured they could only limp along pitifully at the back.
"You really hit hard with your tail!" Adrian Night snapped coldly at Ethan Chu.
"Like your tail is gentle! And you’re the king of sneak attacks—just look at my leg." Ethan Chu angrily pulled up his pant leg, showing off a patchwork of bruises. "You even tried to peel my snake skin—disgusting! You really are vicious. I’d better watch out for you from now on."
"Sneak attack? If you hadn’t dumped a pile of river crabs on my tail, would it be all red and swollen from those monsters pinching me? Peeling your skin was me going easy—if I wasn’t worried about Xin’er, I’d have taken a knife and stripped you for real!" Adrian Night snapped, furious at being treated like that for the first time in his life.
"You think you’ll ever get another chance?" Ethan Chu shot back coldly.
"I definitely will. Hmph!" Adrian turned his head away.
"Hmph." Ethan Chu mirrored him, turning the opposite direction.
"If you’re so tough, how’d Butterfly Rogue manage to injure you?" Caleb Miles asked Lucian Vane as they walked together.
"Tough? Didn’t you see that bookworm yelling ‘foul, foul’ the whole time? I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to make that nerd the referee—were they just trying to kill me? I couldn’t use poison, only my tail, but I never expected that flower thief’s tail to be so damn agile."
"Fighting in water is harder than on land, and using only tails takes even more stamina. Butterfly Rogue used to be a flower thief—of course his escape skills and endurance are way above average. No wonder you got hurt," Caleb Miles analyzed.
"Me, hurt? Do you even know how I got injured? That shameless rogue dove underwater, grabbed my tail, and dragged me down. Fine, but then he had the nerve to tickle me—everyone knows I’m ridiculously ticklish! He took the chance to whip my tail, but lucky for me I reacted fast and slapped him right in the face. Ha! Seeing his famously pretty face turn black and blue made my day! Honestly, with all these guys together, we’re turning into a bunch of kids."
"Ha, he must be pretty frustrated." Lucian Vane couldn’t help but laugh.
"Hey, so why did you end up fighting Colin Kerr?" Lucian Vane tilted his head and asked. He didn’t care for most of the others, but Caleb Miles was a bit of an exception—they’d joined on the same day, after all.
"Who knows? I barely know the guy—no clue what set him off!" Caleb thought of how Colin kept pressing him so hard he couldn't even dodge. Maybe the guy had a screw loose.
Lucian Vane thought it over and said, "Colin almost never loses his temper for no reason. The only thing that ever makes him snap is if someone’s making moves on the little White Rabbit—because only stuff about Rabbit can really set him off."

"Little White Rabbit? Who’s that?"
"Liam Willow—Xin’er gave him that name."
Caleb Miles thought back, then said offhandedly, "I never said anything about Rabbit. Last night, when Xin’er set up the room assignments, I didn’t want to share with Colin, so when I left, I just slung an arm over Rabbit’s shoulder and joked, ‘I want to sleep with you.’" He glanced at Lucian, who nodded.
"Seriously? He went that nuts over one little joke?" Caleb gawked. Was this guy obsessed or what?
"Don’t underestimate him—he’s crazy devoted to Rabbit!" Lucian Vane clicked his tongue.
Caleb Miles was left completely speechless.
"Huh, why didn’t that guy come along today?" Lucian Vane glanced around, puzzled.
"He won’t be coming anytime soon. I gave him such a beating last night, he’ll be stuck in bed for days," Caleb Miles replied coolly.
Lucian Vane glanced at him and kept walking, wondering. Everyone had seen Colin’s skills—not amazing, but not bad either. He’d even won the martial arts scholar title, which took some talent. Yet now he was bedridden after a fight with Caleb. Was Colin just weak, or was Caleb hiding his true strength?
He’d have to investigate Caleb properly—he couldn’t allow any threat near Ivy!
"Wow, look at all those handsome guys!"
"Yeah, but too bad they’re all crippled."
"True, but they’re so good-looking—honestly, I’d take them even if they were disabled!"
"Forget it. Look how dark their faces are—they must be bad guys. Let’s get out of here!"
No matter where they went, the sound of gossip was always in the air.
But no matter what people said, Ivy was happily shopping, with Butterfly Rogue grinning at her side. He didn’t care about the stares—how could his face be so swollen? Had he been beaten up? He must be a bad guy, right? Why did he look so sneaky? The gossip went on and on.
At that moment, Butterfly Rogue was just as happy as Ivy—after all, he was the only one at her side. The other four could only limp along behind, and as for the perfectly healthy Liam Willow, he was so pure and clueless he didn’t even count. Heh, it was as if fate had arranged this chance for Butterfly Rogue to be alone with her!
"Come one, come all! Grand opening, century-old shop, flavors a thousand years in the making! Don’t miss out!" Suddenly a vendor’s shout drew their attention. Firecrackers popped in the distance, crowds gathered, and lively chatter filled the air—something exciting was clearly happening.
