Child, Wake Up

The blazing sun shone overhead as dense woods swayed, scattering dappled light around the pavilion. Now and then, a gentle breeze made the light tremble, painting the scene with an unspeakable stillness.

No one spoke.

No one moved.

Even the most frenzied female fans, faced with over twenty dark gun barrels, trembled all over, instinctively retreating, staggering and shaking.

Twenty meters away.

Inside the pavilion.

"Sorry."

Liam Lee took out a black towel and wiped away the tears from his face and eyes. "I lost my composure. Let's not talk about these things for now. Let's watch the commotion instead."

He looked over at Kevin Duke and the others, genuinely interested.

Andrew Han paused, understanding at once: "No wonder, besides Law Realm and Martial General Realm guardians, there are so many soldiers armed with guns all around."

Whenever Liam Lee is outside, there must be layers of strict protection... The Law Realm guardian in the clouds is responsible for screening for Demons and Specters, Martial Generals handle close protection, and these camouflaged soldiers are responsible for the scope of ordinary people.

That's right.

In situations like this, it's inappropriate for Martial Generals to intervene; they can't control large groups of ordinary people. Only these fully armed soldiers possess overwhelming deterrence, preventing the crowd from rushing Liam Lee.

"Andrew."

"Do you think this level of interception is excessive?" Liam Lee asked.

Excessive?

Andrew Han was slightly taken aback.

He knew very well what Liam Lee's identity meant—he practically carried the hopes of all humanity. No matter how strict or thorough the security measures, none would be too much. "Not excessive."

"But I used to think it was too much." Liam Lee smiled wistfully. "Ever since my real identity was exposed, this is only my second time going out. The rest of the time, I've stayed in the research institute, not even stepping through the main gate."
