Infuriating the House of Zhao
The young man Alexander Hayes chose as the temporary head of the family was an obscure junior member of the House of Zhao. The family had some prestige two or three generations ago, but gradually declined. By the time it reached Neil Zhao’s generation, it was in complete ruin.
To make ends meet, Neil Zhao did odd jobs for the Anchester Chamber of Commerce. No one ever paid him any attention, but suddenly, Alexander Hayes personally appointed Neil Zhao as the head of the House of Zhao!
Naturally, the older generation of the House of Zhao was not happy about this.
But now, thanks to their infighting, the old folks had all gotten themselves caught up, and Alexander Hayes had them firmly in his grasp.
So now, whoever Alexander Hayes appointed as the head of the House of Zhao, that person would be the head—no questions asked.
Even though Neil Zhao was only the temporary head, as time passed, if Alexander Hayes didn’t support a new candidate, Neil’s temporary role would quietly become permanent.
Zachary Yan and Edward Yu saw the outcome and could only sigh, wishing they could bang their heads against the wall in frustration.
“Alright, the new head of the House of Zhao has been chosen. As for the traitors... we’ll stick to the list you provided earlier. I’ll keep these reports for now—if anyone steps out of line in the future...” Alexander Hayes swept his cold gaze across the crowd, making the House of Zhao shudder and quickly assure him they wouldn’t dare.
“That’s all for now. General Sean Hayes, you’re in charge of collecting the donated grain and supplies according to the list.” With that, Alexander Hayes stood up, took Princess Jade Hayes by the hand, and the two walked side by side into the Palace of Qin.
Only after Alexander Hayes left did the House of Zhao finally dare to breathe loudly again.
