Lana said, "All right, this is Elder Moon's residence. Go knock yourself—Wendy and I will head off!"
"Thanks for leading the way, senior sisters." Ian quickly bowed.
"No problem, it's nothing!" Lana waved her hand nonchalantly, then left with Wendy.
Just then, the courtyard door opened—Jasmine Jiang stood there.
Seeing Ian, Jasmine's cheeks flushed as she remembered what her master had said to her.
"Greetings, Senior Sister Jasmine."
Ian smiled and bowed.
"No need to be formal. My master knew you were coming and asked me to open the door for you. Please, come in." Jasmine said softly, her manner gentle and reserved.
Compared to other Phoenix Heaven Church disciples, those of the two Phoenix lines were much more innocent.
Take Jasmine Jiang, for example: already a mid-Fusion expert, but her personality was still like a seventeen- or eighteen-year-old girl—otherwise she wouldn't be so shy.
Thank you, Senior Sister Jasmine." Ian thanked her again.
Jasmine nodded, closed the door, and walked inside, her steps a little hurried—not sure if she was nervous or just shy about being alone with Ian.
"Ian, you've arrived."
In the inner courtyard, Elder Faye Moon greeted Ian with a gentle smile.
"Greetings, Elder Moon." Ian quickly bowed.
"Come, have a seat!"
"Yes, ma'am!"
"Junior Brother, have some tea."
Jasmine poured a cup of tea and handed it to Ian.
"Thank you."
Both senior sisters were young women, strikingly beautiful, and both at the mid-Fusion stage.
"Greetings, senior sisters. I am Ian Song of the Male Phoenix Line, here to seek an audience with Elder Faye Moon." Ian greeted them with a polite smile.
"So you're that Ian Song!"
Hearing Ian introduce himself, the two Female Phoenix disciples exchanged intrigued glances, sizing him up with obvious curiosity. Even thick-skinned Ian felt a bit awkward under their direct scrutiny and hurriedly said,
"Please, senior sisters, lead the way."
The girl on the left withdrew her gaze and smiled, "Follow us! By the way, I'm Lana Gale, and she's Wendy Brook."
"So it's Senior Sister Lana Gale and Senior Sister Wendy Brook!"
"Such a sweet talker—come on, hurry up and follow!"
Unlike the Male Phoenix peak's simplicity, the Female Phoenix mountain was breathtakingly beautiful, with elegant buildings everywhere—even a house woven entirely from fresh flowers.
Both Lana and Wendy were lively and friendly, so they quickly warmed up to Ian as they walked.
Lana Gale grinned, "Ian, I heard Elder Moon wants to marry Junior Sister Jasmine Jiang to you. Did you come here to propose?"
Ian forced a laugh, "Senior Sister, don't tease me. How could I possibly be worthy of Jasmine Jiang?" Right now, he still had two unresolved women at home—he had no intention of provoking another.
Wendy Brook scoffed, "Men are all hypocrites!"
Ian's face twitched at her words.
Luckily, neither girl pressed the marriage topic, instead turning the conversation to Ian's strength.
Lana Gale said, "Ian, the day you broke through caused such a huge commotion. I also heard you beat Princess Claire in the late-Fusion stage. You must be even stronger now, right? How about we spar a bit?"
Ian replied modestly, "Senior Sister, you're exaggerating. Beating Princess Claire was just luck!" As for sparring, he pretended not to hear. With his immortal yuan and physique, he could beat them in one move.
"Fake!" Wendy Brook shot back.
Ian could only force a smile at that.
Fortunately, by this point they'd reached Elder Faye Moon's courtyard.
Lana Gale said, "Alright, this is Elder Moon's residence. Go knock—Wendy and I will head off now!"
"Thank you both for showing me the way," Ian said, bowing politely.
"No problem, just a small favor!" Lana Gale waved dismissively and left arm-in-arm with Wendy Brook.
Just then, the courtyard door opened and Jasmine Jiang appeared.
When she saw Ian, Jasmine's cheeks flushed faintly pink. She couldn't help but recall her master's earlier teasing about marrying her off to him.
"Greetings, Senior Sister Jasmine Jiang," Ian said, smiling and bowing.
Jasmine returned the greeting with a gentle voice, "No need to be so formal. Master knew you were coming and asked me to open the door for you. Please, come in."
Compared to other Phoenix disciples, Jasmine was much more reserved. Though already a mid-Fusion expert, her personality was more like a seventeen- or eighteen-year-old girl—no wonder she seemed so shy.
"Thank you, Senior Sister Jasmine Jiang," Ian said again, expressing his gratitude.
Jasmine nodded, closed the courtyard door, and led Ian inside. Her steps were a little hurried, as if she was nervous about being alone with him.
"Ian, you've arrived," Elder Faye Moon called out warmly from inside the courtyard.
"Greetings, Elder Moon," Ian replied, bowing again.
"Come, have a seat!"
"Yes, thank you!"
"Junior Brother, have some tea," Jasmine Jiang said, pouring him a cup.
Jasmine poured a cup of tea and handed it to Ian.
"Thank you," Ian said.
Ian took the cup and drank, savoring the fragrant aroma.
Elder Moon smiled, "How is it? Jasmine brewed this herself—ordinary people don't get to taste it."
"It's delicious," Ian praised.
Jasmine Jiang felt secretly delighted at his praise.
Suddenly, Elder Moon changed the subject: "Ian, you used to get chased and beaten by Princess Claire, but now you've broken through to Fusion. With your strength so much higher, haven't you thought about teaching her a lesson?"
Hearing Elder Moon's goading, Ian was left speechless and could only offer a bitter smile.
Elder Moon continued, "What, worried about her backers? Don't worry, I'll support you—she won't dare touch you."
For a moment, Ian regretted coming to see Elder Moon. Someone her age, and she's still encouraging juniors to fight! He could only say, "Let things go when you can—best to let it be."
Elder Moon sneered, "Are you even a man? You let a woman chase you and beat you all that way, and you're just going to let it go?"
Ian: "..."
Both Lana and Wendy were lively and friendly, so they quickly warmed up to Ian as they walked.
Ian forced a laugh, "Senior Sister, don't tease me. How could I possibly be worthy of Jasmine Jiang?" Right now, he still had two unresolved women at home—he had no intention of provoking another.
Wendy Brook scoffed, "Men are all hypocrites!"
