Stirring Up Trouble

12/2/2025

Morgan Shangguan was never short of ghosts around her, nor did she need to be attended to at all times. So, she and Ryan Ouyang were actually quite free.

Morgan nodded and asked, "What have you found out about Jade Dragon Manor?"

At her words, Susie Yun grew a bit serious and said, "All I've discovered is that Felix Yu seems to be searching for something."

Morgan mused, "Keep watching for any movements at Jade Dragon Manor."

If what Quentin Hua said was true, and that item really held such power, then the banquet at Jade Dragon Manor could well become the spark that plunges the martial world into chaos—or even the beginning of turmoil across the realm.

Late at night, with the world quiet, Morgan lay in bed, eyes open, gazing at the moonlight outside the window, unable to sleep.

Suddenly, a shadow flickered at the window, and another person appeared in the room. Morgan smiled, her eyes betraying not the slightest surprise.

Damien Gray lay down beside her, pulling her into his arms and asked, "Were you waiting for me?"

Morgan didn't answer his question, just smiled and said, "Aren't you afraid of being discovered and causing trouble, Your Highness?"

Damien Gray replied lazily, "I only risked coming because I was afraid my princess wouldn't be able to sleep."

Morgan caught his hand at her chest and said helplessly, "Your Highness, this is a temple!"

Damien Gray was unfazed. "So what? Even the Bodhisattva should know not to look at what is forbidden."

Morgan couldn't help but laugh. "Twisted logic!" She stopped resisting his affection, wrapped her arms around his neck, and sighed, "Without you, I really might not be able to sleep."

Damien Gray smiled and kissed her lips. "It's nothing serious. As long as you don't kick me out of bed, Princess."

Held tightly together, tangled in each other's arms, their eyes saw only one another, nothing else.

Even after passion faded, they couldn't bear to part.

Morgan held his waist, leaning into the hollow of his shoulder, breathlessly trying to calm her racing heart.

"Morgan..."

His sensual lips brushed her ear, softly calling her name. The heat of his breath against her ear made her shiver involuntarily.

A low, husky laugh sounded at her ear, followed by a hint of dissatisfaction in his words: "Morgan, did you forget something?"

Morgan pretended not to notice, closed her eyes and said, "No, everything that needed to be arranged has been arranged."

Damien Gray squinted at her for a moment, then closed his eyes too. After a while, Morgan opened her eyes, poked his chin, and asked with a smile, "What are you scheming?"

Damien Gray opened his eyes and looked at her. "What could I possibly be scheming?"

Morgan raised her eyebrows, kissed the corner of his lips with a smile, and asked, "Really nothing?"

Damien Gray said innocently, "Does wiping out the Cloud Guild count?"

At that, Morgan pinched his neck and snorted, "I'll deal with you first!"

Damien Gray glanced at her and chuckled, "Princess, would you really lay a hand on me?"

Morgan snorted, "Do you think the Cloud Guild is that easy to handle? Even if the Ghost Guild has deep roots, you'd better think twice before trying to wipe out the Cloud Guild!"

Damien Gray caught her hand at his neck, brought it to his lips and kissed it, saying, "It's not easy for the Cloud Guild to defeat the Ghost Guild either. So why do you insist on dealing with the Ghost Guild?"

Morgan glanced at him and said, "It's rare to find a worthy opponent." Besides, with the rivalry between the Ghost Guild and the Cloud Guild, the righteous factions can rest easy—they won't come looking for trouble without reason.

Damien Gray smiled and sighed, "Looks like I'll just have to keep you company!"

He didn't regret his decision back then—letting the Cloud Guild grow wasn't a bad thing. Morgan Shangguan truly was a worthy opponent, which had been his intention all along. He just never imagined that person would be her!

But if he'd wanted to suppress the Cloud Guild back then, the Ghost Guild would have suffered too. Morgan was never easy to deal with, even when the Cloud Guild was just taking shape.

Since she dared to expand the Cloud Guild so openly, she must have her reasons. The Ghost Guild had surely been part of her calculations. And if she had considered it, she must have also prepared her countermeasures—she'd never fear a sudden crackdown from the Ghost Guild.

Damien Gray asked persistently, "Morgan, can you tell me now?"

Morgan smiled, about to speak, when footsteps approached and a knock sounded at the door. With a wave of her hand, the window closed silently. Thankfully, the visitor hadn't passed by the window, or they would have seen everything.

Damien Gray frowned. Who would come looking for her so late at night?

Morgan kissed him on the lips and finally said the words he'd wanted to hear: "Damien, I love you."

Then she got up, dressed, and walked to the door. Damien Gray lay quietly on the bed, watching her leave—after all, he couldn't show his face right now.

Morgan opened the door and stepped out. She turned and closed the door behind her, looked at the person outside, and greeted him coolly, "Adrian Yarrow..." Then she walked to the stone table in the courtyard, sat down on the bench, and asked in a calm voice, "What urgent matter brings Your Highness to me at this hour?"

Adrian Yarrow sat down and simply gazed at her, saying nothing. His focused look was like that of a lover reunited after a long separation, his deep eyes full of longing and affection.

Damien Gray looked out the window and saw that expression. The corner of his mouth curled up, but a chill lingered in his eyes. Adrian Yarrow should be grateful that Morgan loved Damien and not him—otherwise, whether he was the Crown Prince or the Emperor of Azure Kingdom, he would never escape Damien's methods!

Morgan had no reaction to that kind of look, simply waiting patiently for him to speak.

"Morgan..."

As soon as Adrian Yarrow spoke, Morgan couldn't help but frown, then relaxed and smiled faintly. "Your Highness, I don't like that form of address. Could you change it?"

Inside the room, a hint of amusement flashed in Damien Gray's eyes. Morgan seemed to sense something and glanced at the not-quite-shut window, her smile growing a little warmer.

Adrian Yarrow frowned slightly, guessing that perhaps it was because Damien called her that, and so he complied with her wishes and stopped using that address.
