Lily Bai’s Sixth Sense
This brocade-furred rat was like a mouse corrupted by devil power.
Lily Bai felt that if she and Nine Li rushed out, they'd definitely end up as cannon fodder.
So she tugged Nine Li's arm and said, "I doubt we can do much to help. But those demon beasts that came with the guy in black are trying to break the barrier down below—let's go check it out."
Nine Li nodded, and the two of them quietly slipped down to the ground, sneaking off into the darkness.
Sure enough, outside the formation, they saw a crowd of seventy or eighty demon beasts trying to break through.
They could also hear the beasts all chattering at once.
"Heard there's tons of beauties in Skycrest City. This time, we gotta grab a few more to take home!"
"Hahaha! That's right! Last time I scoped the place out, I saw those women doing laundry by the river—every single one was fresh and pretty!"
"But why didn't you report to the boss that there's a barrier here? We all crashed into it!"
"I didn't see any barrier last time I came! Must be something new from the authorities, huh?"
"This barrier is tough to crack! My Barrier-Breaking Talismans aren't working—they all fizzled out!"
"Let me try!"
......
"Big Sister, is your barrier really strong enough? They've got Barrier-Breaking Talismans—those are divine talismans!" Nine Li sent Lily Bai a voice transmission.
Lily Bai replied, "I built it using the energy of the Dragon's Nexus. Unless it's that rat fiend up there, these little minions can't break it!"
"Where did these demon beasts even come from, and what do they want?" Nine Li frowned.
Lily Bai looked at them and said, "Nine Li, I've got a sixth sense about this."
"Big Sister, your sixth sense is always spot-on. What's it about this time?"
"If I sneak into their ranks, maybe I can find out the truth."
Nine Li looked confused. "Truth about what?"
Lily Bai pointed upward. "See those ominous black clouds of misfortune? Are they still there?"
Nine Li opened his Heaven's Eye and checked. "Nope, they're gone! All cleared up!"
"That proves it—these guys came here to massacre the city," Lily Bai said. "Who are they, and why do they want to slaughter everyone? That's the truth we're after!"
"So... what do we do now?"
Lily Bai didn't answer. She quietly sent out a Puppet Rune.
A little demon beast, taking advantage of the others' distraction, slipped over to Lily Bai and Nine Li.
"Big Sister, why'd you bring him over here?"
"Nine Li, later tell Damian Black and Azure Flame to wait for me at Heavenly Pool Mountain by the Spirit Alliance entrance. I'll come find you guys."
"What are you planning?" Nine Li asked nervously, grabbing her arm.
"I'll be fine. You hurry back." Lily Bai shoved Nine Li into the barrier, then had the little demon beast tuck her into its Life-pouch.
A Life-pouch is just like a Storage Pouch—it's a portable storage space.
But you can't put living creatures in a Storage Pouch.
A Life-pouch, on the other hand, can only hold living things.
Once inside, the little demon beast slipped back into the crowd.
Nobody noticed it had ever left.
......
Up in the sky, the battle between both sides grew fiercer.
Damian Black summoned the Tenfold Oblivion Arrow.
The arrow floated in midair, Tribulation Lightning crackling inside.
The brocade-fur rat fiend, now in Baxa's form, saw the arrow and his face changed. He shouted a command and darted into the tower on the ship.
At the same time, the demon beasts on the ground heard the call and all returned to the tower.
The immortal ship started up slowly, then vanished in an instant.
......
Inside the Life-pouch, Lily Bai could use the Puppet Rune to see and hear everything outside.
Inside the tower, it was vast and empty.
The demon beasts all crowded around, eager to ask the rat fiend why they'd left.
