Way Out

"Brother Joe, once I sever my Dao, I fear I won't have time to chat with you like this anymore. So before that, there's something I need your help with." Now determined to follow Joe Di's advice and prepare for Dao Severance, Quinn Moten began to plan for what comes next.

Joe Di cupped his fists. "Brother Quinn, as long as it's within my power, I will do everything I can to help you."

Although Joe Di knew Quinn Moten made this decision because he had severed his Evil Corpse, Joe couldn't help but feel deeply grateful. He and Quinn were different—Quinn didn't even harbor much hatred toward his Evil Corpse. But Joe had to hurry back, because his family and friends were still in danger.

A powerhouse like Dubu probably wouldn't stoop so low as to harm his family. But that vile woman, the Immeasura Palace Lord, would definitely do such things.

The Immeasura Palace Lord had not only been severely wounded by his heavy blow, but her physical body had collapsed. Yet with that fat wanderer and Dubu around, Joe Di guessed her injuries would soon recover.

He had many friends in Xuanhuang Tianwaitian, but none of them could truly stand against the Immeasura Palace Lord. The only one who might resist her was the Lotus Sage. Was the Lotus Sage recovered now? And the Lotus Sage no longer had the Genesis Lotus.

"My life-bound artifact, Chrono-Nail, is a black fingernail. My artifact was taken by the Evil Corpse. If you ever find this nail, please use it as the array core to set up a Chaos Gateway. I have the formation method here…" As Quinn Moten spoke, he handed Joe Di a jade slip.

Joe Di's divine sense swept over the jade slip and immediately exclaimed, "What a formation, incredible…"

Joe Di's mastery of formation arts was nearly unrivaled in the Divine Realm. He could instantly tell how powerful this formation jade slip was as soon as he held it.

Quinn Moten smiled. "This array is called the Chaos Gateway. As long as you don't go beyond the endless universes split by this Chaos, you can teleport here. The array must use my Chrono-Nail as the core, only then can I teleport over from here."

Joe Di said solemnly, "Brother Quinn, rest assured. I will definitely spend time searching for this nail and set up the Chaos Gateway. But if I finish the array and you still haven't broken through the Chaos Realm, what then?"

Quinn Moten gave a bitter smile. "That's actually quite possible. If that happens, then just keep the Chrono-Nail with you. If you reach an even higher realm in the future, come look for me."

"A higher realm?" Joe Di asked. "Brother, do you mean the Creation Realm?"

"No, it's a realm even higher than the Creation Realm," Quinn Moten shook his head. "I've never reached it myself, so I can't explain it to you."

"Brother Quinn, earlier you mentioned this universe split from Chaos. Are there other chaotic universes?" Joe Di asked again. He'd heard rumors about realms higher than the Creation Realm, but suspected those were just speculation.

Quinn Moten answered firmly, "That's right. I've been trapped here for tens of millions of years, and you've surely endured endless hardships to get here. But let me tell you, the vast Chaos and all the universes you've seen are just a corner of the infinite chaotic multiverse. It's like cultivation: we reach the Creation Realm, but there are realms beyond it. The limits of our chaotic universe, and our own limits, only allow us to reach this level."

"Thank you for the guidance, brother." Joe Di was deeply moved. No matter how high he cultivated, he always found vaster universes out of reach, and higher realms lying in the distance.

Quinn Moten liked Joe Di's character very much and didn't waste time. "You need to leave quickly, so I’ll sever my realm and then refine the Chaos."

"Brother Quinn, I also have a request. If you manage to break through the Chaos and use the Chaos Gateway to leave, please look out for a few of my friends. Some of them are here, attempting to reach the Third Step. If they ever lose their way and happen to meet you, I hope you can lend them a hand." Joe Di was especially worried about Lightning.

Quinn Moten smiled. "That's a small matter. As long as I break through the Chaos and you set up the Chaos Gateway, no number of people will affect me. Tell me about your friends."

Joe Di quickly explained about Bolt and Baker Wynn, and even mentioned the Ninth Prime Law in passing.

"Alright, don't worry. If there's nothing else, I'm going to sever my realm now," Quinn Moten nodded.

The Prime Law was a priceless treasure for ordinary cultivators, something they'd risk their lives to pursue. But for a peerless expert like Quinn Moten, it was nothing special.

"Wait, let me give this to you," Joe Di said, taking out a jade bottle.

Quinn Moten accepted the jade bottle, opened it, and after looking inside, said with emotion, "Good stuff. These are two drops of Cosmic Essence—they'll be useful to me. Thank you."

Even for someone at Quinn Moten's level, Cosmic Essence was a top-tier treasure.

......

Quinn Moten began severing his realm, while Joe Di observed from the side.

No matter what, a peerless expert like Quinn Moten possessed countless skills that Joe Di could not comprehend in such a short time.

Dao resonance exploded around Quinn Moten. Joe Di could even feel the endless Dao resonance collapsing madly around him. Every breath was as astonishing as an entire era.

Joe Di watched, his heart surging with excitement. The severing of a realm by such a top-tier expert was vastly different from when he severed his Ninth World. The overwhelming momentum, the endless Dao resonance and cosmic laws swirling around, felt like the universe itself was collapsing. This made Joe Di deeply worried—if Quinn Moten lost control and his realm was destroyed, he would be reduced to nothingness along with it. This was not Dao Severance, but a path to self-destruction.

After Quinn Moten severed his realm, the laws shattered, and with every flicker of those laws, Joe Di could sense a brand-new Dao principle. It reminded him of a few lines from a poem: "Silver bottle shatters, water bursts forth; iron cavalry charges, blades and spears ring. The tune ends, the strings are drawn tight; one last note, like silk torn apart..."

It was the perfect description of Quinn Moten's Dao Severance.

The Dao resonance around Quinn Moten instantly weakened, and Joe Di immediately sensed endless chaos surging in.

Joe Di knew that those who walked the Third Step could traverse this vast chaos freely, but anyone not at the Third Step who tried to cultivate here would be crushed by the endless chaos, soon to be enveloped and form a chaotic realm.

That was how he had been trapped before. Later, by severing the chaotic realm that had enveloped him, he stepped into the Third Step and successfully created his own world.

Now that Quinn Moten had severed his Third Step realm, his cultivation had clearly dropped to the Second Stage. Since his cultivation was now at the Second Stage, when he cultivated again, endless chaos would gather and eventually envelop him, forming a new chaotic realm.

"Quick, find a way out..." Quinn Moten managed to transmit a few words before falling silent.

Joe Di didn't need Quinn Moten to tell him. He closed his eyes and expanded his divine sense, carefully searching for any differences in the surroundings.

In just half a stick of incense, Joe Di sensed a subtle difference in one direction. Though it was almost imperceptible, under Joe Di's Path of Rules, he still managed to detect it.

Joe Di cupped his fists toward the now chaos-enveloped Quinn Moten. "Brother, I'm going. Hang in there, and wait for me to find the Chrono-Nail..."

With those words, Joe Di unleashed his Lawstride technique at full force, charging toward the space where the subtle change was.

After stepping into the Third Step, in this vast chaos, no one could match his Lawstride technique.

(That's all for today's update. Good night, friends!)
