"Just this once. From now on, you'll never be able to take it off." Evan Xiao said again.

Grace lowered her head and gazed at the beautiful Dragon Pendant, feeling something strange inside.

From the way he spoke, it was as if this belonged to him...

After putting it on her, Evan Xiao leaned down, wanting to kiss her.

Grace didn't dodge, but her mind was busy wondering—what kind of demon is he, really? What does his true form look like?

"What are you thinking about?" Evan Xiao asked.

"N-nothing..."

"Let's go see Father-in-law!" Evan Xiao sensed this wasn't the right time for a kiss. "It's the perfect chance to finally clear up what we didn't get to say last time."

Grace paused, grabbed his hand, and said, "Wait until he's recovered."

"Why?"

"His heart meridian is injured. He can't handle any shocks—what I mean is, his emotions can't fluctuate too much."

Evan Xiao thought about what he wanted to say, realizing it truly would be a huge surprise for them, so he nodded and said, "Alright."

Just then, Claire called from outside, "General, Louis Lin is here to see you."

Evan Xiao opened the door and, sure enough, Louis Lin had arrived.

When he saw Evan Xiao, he simply said, "Urgent message," and handed him a folded document that Grace couldn't understand.

Evan Xiao opened it and glanced at the contents, frowning.

Then he turned to Grace and said he had something to take care of, and would come back to her later.

With that, he left.

Louis Lin watched Evan Xiao leave, then leaned in and asked, "Miss, where's Little Antler?"

"Right here!" Grace took Ray out from her spatial pouch.

Ray was sleeping, lazily opening one eye to glance at Louis Lin, then lifted his head to look at him.

"Ray, do you still recognize him?" Grace asked.

Ray nodded.

Louis Lin saw how adorable Ray looked and was absolutely smitten. He asked Grace, "Has the General seen this Little Antler before?"

"Of course! Why?" Grace replied.

"He looks so much like Cutie Pie!" Louis Lin said, hinting at something.

"Haha, you don't know, do you?" Hope chimed in from the side. "He's actually Cutie Pie's child!"

"What?" Louis Lin's eyes widened.

"It's true," Grace said. "We noticed how Ray and Cutie Pie looked like they were stamped from the same mold, so we used the Bloodline Stone to check. They're definitely father and son!"

Louis Lin sucked in a breath, clearly astonished.

"Wait a moment," Grace said. "What urgent matter did the General have? Why did you come here looking for him?"

"It's... an urgent letter from home. He needs to go back immediately."

Grace raised an eyebrow: "Could it be... related to Sophie Shang?"

"Maybe." Louis Lin gave her a mischievous wink.

Their little conspiracy needed no words.
