Uncle Arthur Visits

Lily Evans turned her head, a little surprised: "Uncle Arthur, Aunt Charlotte?"

Uncle Arthur and Mrs. Charlotte Evans stood not far away, each holding a box of pastries, looking slightly uneasy.

This was Lily's first time having a proper conversation with Uncle Arthur, so she couldn't help but take a few extra glances at him.

Although Uncle Arthur resembled his brothers in the Evans family, perhaps because appearance reflects character, he looked much kinder and lacked any hint of cunning or meanness. Standing beside the gentle Mrs. Charlotte Evans, they truly looked like a well-matched couple.

Seeing the generous gifts in their hands, Lily knew that Uncle Arthur was probably not the unreasonable type.

"Come in and have a seat," Lily said, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear as she welcomed them into the hall.

"Mom, Uncle Arthur and Aunt Charlotte are here!" Lily called for Lucky to help bring Margaret Evans out.

After everyone sat down in the hall, Lily served tea. Mrs. Charlotte Evans, already acquainted with Lily, felt less nervous now and smiled apologetically. "About what happened at the banquet today... I'm really sorry."

Lily waved her hand and smiled, "That was Grandma Evans' idea."

Mrs. Charlotte Evans and Uncle Arthur exchanged glances, relieved to see that Lily's family didn't hold a grudge against them.
