Chapter 952: Zero Degree Dragon Breath
In just two seconds, every alchemical golem within two to three hundred meters of the Sky Rank Alchemical Golem was wiped out. Yet after this ruthless sweep, the Sky Rank Alchemical Golem did not advance. Instead, it stood guard beneath the unstable Plane Path, motionless, its crimson crystal eyes flickering warily as it watched everything around it.
Instantly, Leon's expression soured. He maneuvered a Bladewalker Alchemical Golem to slowly approach the Sky Rank Alchemical Golem.
As it entered the three hundred meter perimeter, the Bladewalker Alchemical Golem was instantly pierced by three beams of flame, which shot straight through its mana reaction core.
Faced with this, Leon understood immediately—the Sky Rank Alchemical Golem wasn't here to fight, but to guard the Plane Path, like a vanguard sentinel.
Aside from the infamous Golem Plane, Leon couldn't think of any other realm that would send a Sky Rank Alchemical Golem as its vanguard sentinel, even though this one still needed one final metamorphosis to become a true Sky Rank.
Leon turned and issued a command to William.
"Whatever Wagner's doing, tell him to get here—fast!"
With that, Leon drew the Doombringer Staff, clutching the Death Tome in his left hand. In an instant, he invoked Fire Elemental Avatar, his body surging forward like a streak of living flame, racing toward the Sky Rank Alchemical Golem.
Leon made his move. Hubert, Reina, Anderson, the Patchwork Golems, and the Mage Legion all followed, entering battle mode behind him.
Even without its final metamorphosis, the Sky Rank Alchemical Golem was far beyond what the Mage Legion or the Alchemical Golem Army could handle. And now, every second counted—there was no time to wait.
A shadow of a purple dragon shimmered atop the Doombringer Staff, then materialized behind Leon as a colossal phantom. The dragon's spectral arms stretched wide, gently embracing the vast, starry wheel of magic hovering before him.
Endless streams of four-colored light swirled at the wheel's heart, countless runes spinning in its depths.
The Death Tome fluttered open to the Elemental Chapter, as if caught by an invisible wind. Four-colored light shimmered, transforming into a transparent elemental robe that draped over Leon.
A terrifying surge of magic erupted—in just one second, Leon's aura grew grim and surpassed that of any ordinary Ninth-Rank Title Archmage.
Leon hovered mid-air, surrounded on all sides by four massive vortexes of different colors. From each, spells erupted like volcanic blasts—waves of elemental magic pouring forth.
A torrent of wild elemental spells piled atop one another, each spell jostling and crashing into the next. In the end, the flood from the four vortexes merged, forming a chaotic current of four-colored magic—each spell colliding, compressing, shattering…
By the time it reached the Sky Rank Alchemical Golem, the torrent had become a raging spellstorm, more than ten meters thick, its wild power intent only on annihilation.
Any ordinary Ninth-Rank Title Archmage caught in this elemental storm would last no more than three seconds before being consumed, their soul torn to shreds…
But the Sky Rank Alchemical Golem’s crimson crystal eyes flashed madly. It raised its four massive arms, the huge hands spreading wide. In an instant, the arms interlocked, forming a towering shield covered in dense runes and magic glyphs.
Layer upon layer of elemental shields frantically covered the surface of the metal shield, stacking up more than a dozen times in an instant.
The raging four-element storm tore through seven or eight layers of the Sky Rank Alchemical Golem's elemental shields in a flash, but even more shields kept forming to replace them.
After three seconds, every elemental shield was shredded. The wild, destructive storm crashed into the metal shield like a river slamming into a boulder, dispersing around it and rushing off to the sides.
The Sky Rank Alchemical Golem staggered back three heavy steps, the earth beneath its feet collapsing with a thunderous roar. The ground within a radius of twenty or thirty meters seemed to sink downward.
Keep in mind, this was a solid slab of granite—hard as steel—now crumbling as if it could no longer bear the golem’s weight.
The four-element torrent split to both sides, scouring the ground. The rock beneath eroded at a speed visible to the naked eye, as if thousands of years of decay were compressed into a single moment—everything weathered away to dust.
Two massive trenches, each more than ten meters wide, gouged the earth. The destructive storm surged down these channels, slamming into the distant fortress walls.
In an instant, the silent walls seemed to ignite. Hundreds of meters of defensive metal plates came alive, and as the storm crashed on, the activated area kept expanding.
The Gray Orcs inside the fortress watched in terror.
Just the aftermath had activated defensive metal plates across several hundred meters. Earlier, even with the Mage Legion and a swarm of casting Alchemical Golems attacking head-on, the activated plates only covered about seven hundred meters!
Now, just the aftershock had triggered defensive plates over five hundred meters!
The Sky Rank Alchemical Golem was forced back, slowly retreating. Five seconds later, its feet began to deform, four thick metal spikes drove into the ground, and its body shrank slightly. Twin cannon barrels extended from its legs.
Blinding light gathered, like the sun concentrating its rays. A blazing white beam, half a meter thick, pierced through Leon’s four-element storm and shot straight toward him.
Leon floated in midair. In an instant, he activated his rune shield, quadruple elemental shields, and mana shield. The terrifying beam ripped through the mana shield in a blink, shredded the quadruple elemental shields in a second, then slammed into the rune shield.
A series of visible, terrifying ripples radiated out from Leon’s rune shield like shockwaves, the runes spinning and leaping frantically.
After two seconds, the blazing white laser faded, but Leon’s rune shield hadn’t fully recovered from the impact—its runes still flickered and jumped.
Leon frowned slightly. This Sky Rank Alchemical Golem wasn’t just capable of fire and ice spells—it could cast light-element ray spells too.
Light-element ray spells were the strongest of their kind, and the higher the rank, the greater the difference in power.
This golem was casting a seventh-level light spell: Purification Ray. Any creature struck by it would be reduced to the smallest particles in an instant. If an undead were hit, it would unleash the effect of an eighth-level spell.
Normally, Purification Ray was only as thick as a human arm—never half a meter wide. Its power was already comparable to some eighth-level spells.
And Purification Ray had incredible penetration and range. Normally, it could reach up to two thousand meters—far beyond the attack range of most Title Archmages.
Leon instantly calculated a string of data and came to a stark conclusion: if he were hit by three half-meter-thick Purification Rays within two seconds, not even his rune shield would hold.
Flames roared around him as Leon decisively used Flame Blink, reappearing dozens of meters away—dodging the remaining Purification Ray.
At that moment, Reina, Hubert, Anderson, the Patchwork Golem, and the Mage Legion arrived in quick succession.
The Patchwork Golem had once been a true Sky Rank Alchemical Golem—now, limited only by its parts, it couldn’t unleash its full power, but it wouldn’t be suppressed by the four-armed golem.
From afar, the Patchwork Golem dodged ray spells while unleashing spellstorms to suppress its foe.
Anderson was even more reckless, floating behind the Patchwork Golem, using it as a shield while he unleashed spell torrents with the Wheel of Magic.
Hubert swung the Doombringer, using brute force to withstand the ray spells, searching for a chance to charge the four-armed golem.
The Mage Legion formed an alchemical magic array, summoning half a Fire Giant, then used a joint chanting array to unleash advanced spells.
Reina transformed into a Frost Dragon, casually casting a few frost spells as she waited for her moment to strike.
In less than ten seconds, the four-armed Alchemical Golem was completely suppressed—but still, it refused to leave the space rift beneath it, holding its ground to the death.
Seeing this, Leon’s expression grew darker, his attacks more ferocious.
In less than half a minute, the four-armed golem could no longer fire ordinary ray spells—forced into pure defense, only the two specialized ray cannons could still attack.
Yet even so, the golem neither retreated nor dodged, stubbornly enduring the assault. Up to now, it hadn’t suffered a single scratch—not one part damaged…
Its defenses were frighteningly strong…
After more than ten minutes, the deadlock continued. Leon and his allies besieged the four-armed golem to no avail; on the contrary, the golem’s Purification Rays nearly wiped out several Mage Legion members…
Just then, Leon spotted Wagner rushing up from behind.
"Reina, Zero Degree Dragon Breath!"
Leon called out in a low voice, instantly ceasing all spellcasting. Before him, fire and frost powers rapidly converged.
Countless fire and frost runes appeared, massive powers of flame and ice forcibly fused and compressed into two unstable, terrifying orbs.
Then, around the two orbs, earth element gathered like metal, forming a shell shaped like a cone to encase the fire and frost powers.
At that moment, the four-armed golem—always on defense—immediately swung its twin cannons toward Leon, gathering blinding white light.
Clearly, it sensed the threat of Leon’s spell.
