Advanced Evolution Crystal

Humans are always forgetful when it comes to gratitude.

When they stormed the cafeteria, no one remembered that it was Ian Song who led the rescue from the zombies. So when someone stirred things up, they all chose to make trouble.

But when it comes to blood and death, people remember all too clearly.

The deaths of the eight ringleaders taught the survivors that the Management Council not only saves people, but also kills.

With the Discipline Corps overseeing things, the food distribution window quickly returned to order, and everyone lined up obediently to receive their food.

To be honest, Ray Wang looked down on these survivors.

Because they were all cowards. If they had any guts, a few of them working together could easily kill a zombie, but instead they chose to hide out in the cafeteria and refused to risk themselves. So if they couldn’t fill their bellies, they deserved it.

Bang!

Ian Song’s door was kicked open.

Ian didn’t even need to look back to know who it was. In this settlement, only one person dared to kick his door.

Whoosh!

A flash of silver streaked out and buried itself in the female zombie’s head. The next moment, her head exploded in a bloody burst.

Staring at the claws that had been so close, the squad member shuddered in fear. He’d almost been scratched—an injury meant death, since the zombie virus was infectious.

“Thank you, President.” The squad member gratefully thanked Ian.

Ian nodded, but his expression grew thoughtful.

It was obvious—the zombies were evolving, and fast. That female zombie just now was already twice as strong and fast as a normal person, and seemed to show a hint of intelligence.

No matter how strong zombies got, Ian wouldn’t be afraid. But if they gained intelligence—and with nine-tenths of the world’s population turned—if tens of billions of zombies coordinated, not even a Jindan expert could withstand them, much less someone at his Innate Eighth Layer.

“Today’s plan is canceled. Head back to base!” Ian ordered in a deep voice.

“President, look!”

A squad member held up a bloodstained orange crystal to Ian—it had just been taken from the dead female zombie’s skull.

"Roar!"

Suddenly, a female zombie burst out of the bushes, claws bared, charging at Ian’s group.

Combat Corps members loved lone zombies—they meant one Merit Point and two jin of grain.

So the moment that female zombie appeared, one squad member rushed forward swinging a steel pipe.

Bang!

That squad member was sent flying by a slap from the zombie.

Everyone was shocked. The first to charge was a veteran who’d taken two Evolution Crystals—his strength had at least doubled. Yet he was sent flying with a single slap, showing this zombie was far stronger than normal.

Three more squad members immediately darted out, surrounding the female zombie and smashing at her with steel pipes.

"Roar!"

The female zombie let out a low growl, her speed suddenly surging as she darted at one of the men. Her sharp claws flashed toward his chest like lightning.

Whoosh!

A flash of silver streaked out and buried itself in the female zombie’s head. The next moment, her head exploded in a bloody burst.

Let me see.

Ian took the crystal, activated his Omniversal God-Eye, and after checking it, a hint of delight appeared on his face. “This is an advanced Evolution Crystal. The energy inside is much stronger than the white ones. Let’s go—back to base!”

Originally, Ian had planned to check the strength of other zombies first.

But the appearance of this advanced Evolution Crystal made him change his mind. He decided to go back and test its effects first.

“President, someone’s coming our way!”

Suddenly, Leo Liao pointed into the distance. Three people were running toward them at high speed.

As the three approached, everyone grew more cautious—one of them was carrying a handgun, the other two had large mountain knives.

“Are you students from South China University?”

The three stopped two meters away, glaring at Ian’s group.

“Who are you?” Leo demanded, his eyes flicking to the handgun in the leader’s hand.

“Damn it! Am I asking you, or are you asking me?” The leader’s face twisted with a snarl. Suddenly he raised his gun and barked, “Throw down all your weapons!”

Everyone looked at Ian.

“Kid, are you their leader?” The middle-aged man fixed his gaze on Ian.

“Yes.” Ian nodded.

“Heh!” The man sneered, aiming the gun at Ian’s chest. “In that case, have them hand over all their food!”

“Chao, that chick looks pretty good!”

The young man to the left of the leader stared lecherously at Helen.

Ma Chao’s gaze shifted to Helen, and seeing her face, he raised an eyebrow and barked, “Come here, girl!”

“Okay.”

Helen replied calmly and walked toward Ma Chao. Leo and the others looked furious, but Ian remained composed; if you looked closely, you’d see a faint, cold smile at the corner of his lips.

Ma Chao’s eyes roamed over her body, commenting, “Not bad, but your chest is a bit small.”

In the blink of an eye, Helen reached Ma Chao. He reached out to grab her chest, saying, “Let me check the goods first!”

“Ah!”

A scream rang out as Helen moved like lightning, snatching the gun from Ma Chao’s hand and kicking him hard in the crotch, knocking him to the ground. Everyone could hear the sound of his eggs cracking.
