Joe Di tried countless methods, including using Divine Sense Escape, blazing a path with Dao Fire, and charging in with a defensive array...
Yet none of these methods made Joe Di feel safe. Even when the Fire Element was extremely weak, he still couldn’t enter this Fivefold Elemental Sealing Array.
“Blackfire...” Joe Di turned and landed on the shuttle, noticing that Aaron Jace had also come out of seclusion and was standing with Blackfire.
“Big Brother, where is this?” Aaron Jace had just emerged and hadn’t had a chance to ask Blackfire anything yet.
Joe Di pointed to the Fivefold Elemental Sealing Array ahead and said, “There’s something I need inside. In a moment, I’ll take Blackfire in with me. If anything happens to us, you must immediately take Moria Lane and Sprout and leave this place.”
Joe Di didn’t mention asking Aaron Jace to help buy the Akhan True Glass Water. If he were to fall, Aaron wouldn’t be able to help anyway, so saying it would be pointless.
“Big Brother, let me go in with you. My strength is higher than Blackfire’s.” Aaron Jace patted his chest without hesitation.
Joe Di waved his hand, “You’re no use. It has to be Blackfire.”
“Step aside, your skills are far inferior to mine.” Blackfire landed decisively on Joe Di’s shoulder.
To be invited by Joe Di to enter the Fivefold Elemental Sealing Array, Blackfire was eager to try. The array contained Fire Origin energy, which was exactly what it needed.
“Alright, I’ll wait here for you.” Aaron Jace was rather helpless—Blackfire had only just stepped into the fourth rank among Immortal Fiends, while he himself had been a Grand Ether Immortal for some time now.
But since Joe Di said he wasn’t suitable, there was nothing he could say in rebuttal.
Aaron Jace admired Joe Di to his very core. Even the Desire Poison that his own father couldn’t cure, Joe Di had resolved for him. And that Starlight Tea—who else could craft it but Joe Di?
At the Starlight Teahouse, even a casual trapping-killing array could send an Immortal King flying like a chick. He’d made many friends before, but none could compare to Big Brother Joe Di.
More importantly, Joe Di truly treated him as a friend—it had nothing to do with having an Immortal Emperor for a father.
Even the Titan Body Technique, Divine Sense Escape, and the cultivation methods to open the Star River Meridian—each of these were nothing short of heaven-defying.
In other words, even a father might not pass down all these things to his son, but Big Brother Joe Di had given him everything without a second thought, not a word of complaint.
Standing with Joe Di once more outside the Fivefold Elemental Sealing Array, Blackfire asked, “Big Brother, do you want me to tear open this void so we can go straight in?”
Joe Di nodded. “That’s right. Without you here, I probably wouldn’t be able to get in.”
After trying countless methods, Joe Di realized that unless he tore through the void to enter, there was no way in. Blackfire had this skill—even when it was only a first-rank Immortal Fiend, it could rip open the void at Skyveil Pit and even see what was on the other side. Joe Di believed this method would work for sure.
Blackfire said awkwardly, “Big Brother, I sensed the void here—if not for this Sealing Array, I could tear it open. But with the array in place, I’m afraid I can’t.”
“Don’t worry. When I tell you to tear, just do it.” Joe Di knew well how powerful the Sealing Array was. Even with the Fire Element weakened by the loss of the Fire Origin Pearl, it was still far beyond Blackfire’s ability to tear open.
Joe Di once again used his intent to communicate with the Golden Principle through the Fire Element. Soon, he received a positive response—the Golden Principle could make the void rules of the Fire Element even weaker within ten breaths. With Blackfire’s ability, it should be able to tear it open.
After only a few moments, even without Joe Di’s reminder, Blackfire sensed a spot ahead growing weaker. Almost as soon as Joe Di called out, Blackfire stretched out its claws and swiped.
Boom! A violent surge of energy swept over them, forcing Blackfire to spit out a mouthful of black blood.
Blackfire realized it had swiped at the wrong spot the first time. Without pausing, it swiped again. Another terrifying surge of energy crashed over it, and Blackfire grew even more feeble.
Joe Di took out two Ether Essence Pills and fed them to Blackfire. Its injuries began to heal instantly, and it swiped a third time.
“This is it.” Joe Di called out, charging in with Blackfire. At the end of the void passage Blackfire had created, there lay a Golden Principle bound by countless patterns.
“Blackfire, you and Cosmic Flame help me block the Fire Elemental energy from behind. I’m going to rescue the Golden Principle.” With that, Joe Di unleashed the Cosmic Flame.
Inside the Fivefold Elemental Sealing Array, Joe Di stood at the Fire Element position, still wary that the Fire Element might suddenly erupt and sweep him away.
As if sensing Joe Di’s arrival, the Golden Principle radiated a sense of joy.
Joe Di was surprised as he looked at the Cosmic Flame—it seemed even more active than Blackfire, sweeping up Fire Origin energy and showing signs of advancing.
Joe Di was overjoyed and set his mind at ease to inspect the Golden Principle.
The exterior of the Golden Principle was covered in densely packed patterns of various colors. Each time the Golden Principle struggled, these patterns would erupt in light, binding it even tighter.
Only about a dozen meters from the Golden Principle, a familiar, broken stone lay suspended, radiating a familiar aura.
The moment Joe Di’s gaze landed on the broken stone, he understood completely why the Golden Principle had been trapped here. He’d once possessed a similar stone—it was a Cosmic Membrane Fragment.
It was clear the person who set up the Fivefold Elemental Sealing Array knew exactly what the Golden Principle liked. Joe Di couldn’t help but feel a hint of respect for the one who’d trapped the Golden Principle. Just look—the treasures here, weren’t they all the finest in the cosmos?
If this were anywhere else, Joe Di would have rushed to grab the broken Cosmic Membrane Fragment immediately. But here, he dared not.
He was inside the Fivefold Elemental Sealing Array, and only because the Fire Origin Pearl had been taken or had escaped could he stand here. If the array were complete, even if his strength increased ten thousand times, he wouldn’t dare enter.

With the Fire Origin Pearl gone, the other four elemental energies remained. If he left his current position, he might end up like the Golden Principle—bound by those colored patterns.
Joe Di focused his divine sense on the Golden Principle, hoping to unravel the colored patterns binding it. But when his sense touched those patterns, his expression darkened.
He wasn’t just a mere seventh-rank Immortal Array King—even if his array mastery increased by ten ranks, he still wouldn’t be able to undo those Dao patterns.
“I’m sorry, I really can’t help you.” Joe Di said helplessly to the Golden Principle. Not only could he not help, he couldn’t take any of the treasures here either.
The reason was simple—his strength was trash.
An urgent message came from the Golden Principle, as if saying it could help Joe Di rapidly improve his array mastery.
Sure enough, following that message, the Golden Principle’s aura overflowed. Countless fundamental Dao rhymes seeped into Joe Di’s intent, and his understanding of arrays skyrocketed—he didn’t even have time to speak.
Joe Di sighed. He’d wanted to tell the Golden Principle that even if his mastery reached ninth-rank Immortal Array Emperor, he still couldn’t break those patterns.
Now that the Golden Principle was doing its utmost to help him comprehend array laws, Joe Di didn’t bother being polite. He might not be able to rescue the Golden Principle, but he was here to help.
For the first time, Joe Di’s understanding of arrays soared so wildly. Hand seals for arrays appeared out of thin air in his hands, and all sorts of fundamental array laws came to him in a flash of insight.
Joe Di was completely immersed in the joy of comprehending the Dao of arrays.
In the blink of an eye, several months passed. The Cosmic Flame, shielding Joe Di from the Fire Element, suddenly erupted into a hundred-foot-tall black blaze. The trace of azure within the flame vanished completely.
The Cosmic Flame advanced to Seventh Rank Immortal Flame, but Joe Di was completely unaware, wrapped up in the profound laws of arraycraft.
Not only had the Cosmic Flame advanced—Blackfire’s body began to change as well. A red horn sprouted atop its head, its four legs grew sturdier, and its claws sharper. Though still round, it now stood nearly two feet tall.
Boom! As the various array laws reached their peak, Joe Di’s array mastery soared directly to Eighth Rank Array Sovereign.
The torrent of fundamental array laws flooding into Joe Di’s sea of consciousness vanished. He knew the Golden Principle had stopped this pointless effort—by now, it understood that even if he reached Ninth Rank Immortal Array Emperor, he still couldn’t rescue it.
But Joe Di had come up with an even better idea. When he saw the Cosmic Flame, now Seventh Rank Immortal Flame, and Blackfire, now a Fifth Rank Immortal Fiend with a transformed body, he could hardly believe his eyes. The ball of azure flame floating above Blackfire’s head had also reached Fifth Rank Immortal Flame.
Wasn’t this a bit too much?
Joe Di quickly came to his senses. He hurriedly took out the Void Ashflame and placed it beside the Cosmic Flame. “Don’t you dare devour the Void Ashflame—help it advance a few ranks instead.”
Joe Di had obtained the Void Ashflame at Skyveil Pit while searching for the Celestial Fire Spirit. It was a Fourth Rank Immortal Flame. Though not as good as his Cosmic Flame, it was still an exceedingly rare treasure, and Joe Di had never allowed the Cosmic Flame to devour it.
(That’s all for today’s update. Good night, friends!)
