Innocence, Suspect Simon Sun Arrives

2/14/2026

"I—I—I..." Facing Serena Feng's wolfish gaze, the attorney from Shunning Marquis Manor couldn't utter a single word. He never expected Serena to target him so suddenly. It took him a long moment to recover, and then he stammered, "Wh-what do you mean by that?"

Stammering and utterly deflated, he looked guilty and weak. Serena almost wanted to tell Shunning Marquis Manor to drag their attorney home and stop embarrassing themselves in public.

In court, not only does every word carry weight—momentum matters too. With an attorney like this, Shunning Marquis Manor was doomed to lose sympathy; his guilty demeanor made it impossible for anyone to believe him, even if he was supposedly the victim.

Still, Serena was quite satisfied with his reaction. Seeing that he genuinely wanted an answer, she graciously explained, "What do I mean? Does Shunning Marquis Manor really not understand? The marquis’s reputation has been ruined by your bullying and arrogance."

Now that the Little Divine Doctor Simon Sun is missing, what more do you have to say? If you hadn’t framed him, how would Simon Sun have ended up missing? If anything happens to him, Marquis Sutton—you are the murderer.

Let me make this clear: don’t think that just because Simon Sun is missing and his parents aren’t here, there’s no one to speak for him. I’m his master for a reason.

Today I’m telling everyone at Shunning Marquis Manor—even if Simon Sun can’t be found, I will win justice for him. Whether my disciple lives or dies, his innocence will remain untarnished. He will never bear such a disgraceful crime.

Serena called him the Little Divine Doctor on purpose—to remind the three High Court judges that her disciple is no ordinary person, and she herself isn’t some powerless commoner. If they think they can wrap up this case with a sham verdict, they’re dreaming.

Serena Feng would never let this go. She was here to challenge the Bloodcloak Guard, to accuse Shunning Marquis Manor, and she would not rest until she got results.

As expected, with Serena calling Simon Sun ‘the Little Divine Doctor’ over and over, the crowd grew furious. One by one, they pointed at Shunning’s attorney and shouted, “You can tell you’re no good—framing the Little Divine Doctor! May you and your whole family get what you deserve!”

“The Little Divine Doctor, Simon Sun, is such a good soul—he never charged us a single coin for treatment, and he never cared that we were dirty. My old mother’s feet had been rotting for years; even my daughter-in-law wouldn’t help wash them, but Simon Sun didn’t mind at all. He brought hot water, sprinkled on medicine, and washed her feet with his own hands. How could such a wonderful doctor ever violate a woman?” As he spoke, the white-haired old man burst into tears.

He’s such a kind, spotless-hearted boy—how could anyone fling such filthy accusations at him?

“The Little Divine Doctor is a good man, the best under heaven! Only a goddess would be worthy of Simon Sun. That so-called young lady isn’t even fit to carry his shoes!”

“We don’t believe it! We don’t believe the Little Divine Doctor Simon Sun would ever violate any young lady. Please, Your Honors, you must clear Simon Sun’s name!”

Thud, thud, thud... The spectators didn’t care about anything else. After the first person knelt, everyone followed suit, bowing their heads to the three High Court judges.

Serena Feng is really something. Does she think these ignorant commoners will help her? How naive! This is a court of law—no matter how much they kneel or kowtow, it’s useless. Law does not bend for sentiment. Shunning Marquis Manor’s young lady is dead, and as long as they insist Simon Sun assaulted her, he’ll never be able to clear his name. Once a man is branded with such a charge, it sticks forever." Adrian Dongling watched the tide of 'public opinion' with a bitter mix of envy and resentment.

He punished corrupt officials and tried to help the people, but never earned a single word of praise. Yet Simon Sun only had to save a few lives to be called the Little Divine Doctor. How is that fair?

“Seventh Brother, what are you staring at? Hurry up and get over here!” Second Prince Evan saw Adrian Dongling standing there in a daze and quickly dragged him to the other side of the street.

Everyone around them was kneeling, and standing out in the crowd made them far too conspicuous. But for princes like them, kneeling was simply impossible.

The kneeling commoners weren’t just bowing—they were crying out for Simon Sun’s innocence.

“Your Honors, the Little Divine Doctor Simon Sun is being framed! That young lady from the manor was sneaking around with someone else—Simon Sun is innocent! You must clear his name!”

“Clear the Little Divine Doctor’s name!”

“Clear the Little Divine Doctor’s name!”

...

These commoners didn’t know the details or the power struggles; all they knew was that the gentle, shy boy who treated them and handed out medicine could never do such a thing.

A boy like that, who blushed just talking to women, could never violate anyone. No one would believe such a thing.

“Order! Order!” The High Court Chief Justice banged his desk again, but no one paid him any attention. The crowd kept shouting for Simon Sun’s innocence—even if he died, his name must be cleared; he couldn’t bear such a stain.

Inside the courtroom, it fell silent. The Criminal Affairs Director shrank into a corner, trying to make himself invisible. While Serena Feng denounced Shunning Marquis Manor, he desperately racked his brains for a countermeasure, hoping the men sent to Feng Manor would hurry back and rescue the situation.

Master Advocate Song quietly pulled Mira Tang aside. No joke—kneeling on cold stone in this weather could easily make her sick.

Shunning Marquis Manor’s attorney kept mopping his brow with a handkerchief. He didn’t know all the details, but he’d met Simon Sun—a pure, innocent boy who could never commit such a crime. Faced with Serena Feng’s fierce accusations, his heart grew weak and guilty.

Serena Feng and Dominic Zhai exchanged a brief glance, reaching a silent agreement only they understood, then quickly looked away. Dominic kept his eyes down, pretending not to see anything, while Serena gazed calmly at the crowd crying out for Simon Sun’s innocence—without a trace of excitement or joy. This was simply what Simon Sun deserved. But...

Those two people at the street corner looked familiar. Of course—whether nobles or commoners, everyone loved to watch the drama at Feng Manor. Most were just here for the spectacle; only a few truly cared about Simon Sun’s fate.

Serena Feng gazed up at the sky in silence. After almost a year here, she still couldn’t tell the time by looking at the clouds. She just guessed that by now, Feng Manor’s carriage should be nearly out of the city. She wondered what move the Bloodcloak Guard would make next.

The law cannot punish the masses. The High Court Chief Justice was helpless against the unruly crowd and looked to Serena Feng with hope, wishing she’d step up and calm everyone down. But Serena didn’t even glance his way, and he couldn’t find a chance to signal her.

The noise swelled even louder. The High Court Chief Justice rubbed his aching temples, ready to adjourn and postpone the session. Just then, a carriage came speeding down the street toward the High Court. The driver whipped the horses and shouted, “Make way! Make way! Suspect Simon Sun is in the carriage—clear the way!”

Before the carriage even arrived, the driver’s martial-arts-powered shout thundered through the street, silencing the crowd’s cries for justice.

“Suspect Simon Sun has arrived—make way!” The carriage barreled right into the crowd, not slowing for a second. Serena Feng’s eyes widened as it drew closer.

No way... That carriage looks way too familiar!
