Do Whatever I Tell You
It tapped her lips with its tail.
"What? You want a kiss before you'll help me?"
The Antler Serpent nodded.
"Tch! I'm your master, and you're still bargaining with me?"
It rolled over, tumbled off her, and curled up into a ball, ignoring her.
"Hey! You've gotten more and more spoiled lately!" Grace poked him. "Alright, come here!"
He stretched his head over.
Grace puckered her lips and gave him a kiss.
The Antler Serpent seemed happy and burrowed into the covers, snuggling up to her to sleep.
"You promised! Tomorrow, whatever I tell you to do, you have to do it!"
The Antler Serpent poked its head out from under the covers and nodded at her.
"Good boy."
......
Early the next morning, Grace dragged Jason Zhuo to the palace gate to meet Princess Olivia Gu.
She was up early, and they didn’t have to wait long before the carriage arrived.
The carriage stopped right in front of them, and the curtain was lifted from inside.
A radiant face appeared, glowing like sunshine, cheeks flushed, lips curved in a smile.
Their eyes met, and Jason Zhuo turned his gaze away, looking awkward and uncomfortable.
"Princess!" Grace grinned. "You're up so early!"
"I didn't want you to wait too long," Princess Olivia Gu said with a smile.
"Let's go! Grandmother will be so happy to see you!"
Princess Olivia Gu nodded slightly and let the curtain fall.
Once they arrived at the manor, it was customary to greet the Dowager Lady first.
The Dowager Lady was surprised to see Princess Olivia Gu and invited her to sit by her side, holding her hand and fussing over her warmly.
"...But Olivia, what brings you here today?" the Dowager Lady asked, puzzled.
Princess Olivia Gu glanced at Grace and replied, "Grace invited me. I'm very curious about her Five Elements Heavenly Spirit Root, so I came."
"That's right!" Grace jumped in. "Last time we met at Westgate Manor, the princess said she often goes there, but she's never visited our place!
So, I thought I'd invite her to our manor.
But to invite the princess out of the palace, you need a proper reason.
Nothing big is happening at our place lately, so I used my big brother's birthday as an excuse to invite her over."
The Dowager Lady scolded, "You child! Why didn't you say anything beforehand? We weren't prepared at all!"
"Don't blame Grace. I asked her not to tell you, so you wouldn't be troubled," Princess Olivia Gu said.
"Such a thoughtful child, always thinking of others," the Dowager Lady said, her gaze at Olivia complicated.
She had always liked Princess Olivia Gu.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have wished so much for her to marry into the Zhuo family.
But now... Olivia was still Colin Gu's full sister.
Now, she just hoped the Zhuo family and Colin Gu's family would stay as far apart as possible.
Otherwise, it would only lead to tragedy!
......
Later, Grace's mother and Grace Wan heard the princess had arrived and came to greet her as well.
It was the coldest time of year, so Lena couldn't stay out long—she just sat for a bit before heading back.
Grace Wan stayed, though, and warmly entertained the princess.
"...Oh my! Grace, why didn't you tell me the princess was coming? I didn't prepare anything!" Grace Wan scolded playfully.
"Lady Blue Moon, please don't be so formal. Just treat me as an ordinary guest," Princess Olivia Gu said. "Otherwise, I'll feel uneasy."
"The princess is always so thoughtful," Grace Wan said, moved. "But how could you ever be just an ordinary guest? If I don't treat you well, it would be my failure as hostess!"
