A Mischievous Smile
"General Evan?" Seeing him remain silent, Colin Gu called out.
"Your Majesty, regarding the land arrangements for Fengqi Kingdom, I will submit a memorial with all the details," Evan Xiao said. "But right now, I'm suddenly feeling a bit unwell. May I be excused?"
"Unwell? How did you suddenly get sick?" Colin Gu asked with concern.
"It's an old injury acting up. Same old problem."
"Then go home and rest. Your health comes first."
"Thank you, Your Majesty," Evan Xiao said, turning to leave.
......
Evan Xiao arrived at the gate of the Spirit Alliance and saw Grace staring at the ground, muttering about whether Cutie Pie would show up.
Was she trying to find Cutie Pie?
Evan Xiao moved to a hidden spot, and with a flash of blue light, Cutie Pie appeared.
Grace bit the Dragon Scale and waited for a while. Sure enough, she saw the Antler Serpent slither in from outside the gate.
"Cutie Pie, you really came!" Grace said happily.
Cutie Pie jumped into her arms, staring at her with big, shiny black eyes as if to ask: What do you need me for?
"Can you help me find someone?" Grace asked.
Cutie Pie nodded.
Only Grace's Patient No. 3 had a prescription personally written by Elder Conrad, which Sam Summers took to prepare the medicine.
Cutie Pie nodded.
"I suspect there's someone here who looks a lot like him," Grace said. "Maybe it's a disguise, or maybe a twin brother. He's somewhere within the Spirit Alliance. Can you help me look for him?"
Cutie Pie nodded and hopped off to start searching.
"What's got you so flustered?" Sophie Sun frowned. "Can't you see we're in the middle of an examination?"
This room was at the very edge of the courtyard, built entirely of stone, with just one door and no windows.
The door, though wooden, was made so tightly that there wasn't even a crack—peeking inside was impossible.
Grace tried pushing the door, but it was locked from the inside.
She pressed her hand to the door, channeling her spiritual power through it. The latch inside snapped.
Grace walked in.
Inside, it was empty except for a single bed.
On the bed lay a man in a deep, unbroken sleep.
The moment she saw him, Grace knew she'd guessed right.
Lily Xu really does love pulling tricks like this!
This man looked exactly like Patient No. 3 she had diagnosed earlier!
Grace checked his pulse.
Just as Elder Conrad had said, his pulse showed signs of Qi deviation, with cold energy invading his meridians.
Qi deviation... Grace suddenly gave a wicked little smile, pulled out a needle, and jabbed it into the man's neck.
......
Inside the hospital room, the other four had finished checking pulses and started treating their patients.
Only Grace's Patient No. 3 had a prescription personally written by Elder Conrad, which Sam Summers took to prepare the medicine.
"Elder Conrad, you've worked hard enough these days! Leave this one to me!" Lily Xu said enthusiastically. "His Qi deviation isn't that serious—I can cure him!"
Elder Conrad didn't think much of it and agreed.
Just then, two orderlies rushed in, shouting, "Something's wrong! Something's wrong!"
"What's got you so flustered?" Sophie Sun frowned. "Can't you see we're in the middle of an examination?"
"There's a lunatic outside, chasing people with a sword!" the orderly said. "No idea where he came from!"
