Atavistic Awakening

Henderson's head was still spinning—totally numb.

The blood-light coiled around Dustleave was packed with every last drop of his strength!

But even with all that, he still couldn’t lock down the sword!

"You're just wasting your breath! Totally pointless!"

Henderson went ghost-white, all the color drained from his face.

He looked wild-eyed and crazed, watching half his body hit the ground.

"With the Blood Moon Gem here, no matter how bad it gets..."

He didn’t even get to finish.

The Blood Moon Gem’s glow shimmered and flowed.

The body on the ground twitched, as if summoned—about to help him heal up.

Dustleave moved again.

This time, Dustleave dropped straight from the sky, pinning that body to the ground like a nail.

"What the hell are you doing!"

Henderson's eyes bulged with rage.

"It can patch you up, but it can’t put you back together from scratch."

Evan Lin just shook his head.

Henderson’s bat wings beat furiously as he dove for the ground again and again, desperate to recover.

But every time, Dustleave’s sword-intent just smacked him back.

The searing pain nearly fried his brain.

The Blood Moon Gem still blazed, but it was absolutely useless now.

"Stop stalling!"

Moriah snapped coldly.

As his voice fell, the six Blood Clan—including Henderson—gathered together in mid-air.

Henderson ignored the body pinned to the ground by Dustleave.

Once they regrouped, the red blood-light suddenly surged, swelling explosively.

A thunderous boom echoed out.

The Three Maiden Spirits and the swords were blasted aside in an instant.

"I've heard you Easterners love your magic artifacts, but they're useless against us."

Moriah's eyes glowed crimson, his gaze deep and sinister: "What flows in our veins is the blood of the great Blood Clan ancestor!"

"Against absolute power, you're nothing but an ant!"

His voice was dripping with malice.

All six Blood Clan raised their heads in unison, eyes locked on the Blood Moon Gem overhead.

"Blood Moon, rise."

They chanted together, voices full of reverence.

Inside the Blood Moon Gem, strange waves began to ripple outward.

This was nothing like the healing aura Evan Lin had sensed earlier.

"What is this?"

Evan Lin narrowed his eyes, watching closely.

A strange sound echoed through the air.

It wasn't a heartbeat; it was like blood surging through colossal veins.
