"What are you doing, Ethan Zhang?"
Earthly Soul stared at me as I finished the last stroke of the tally mark on the ground.
"I'm marking the days. Can't you see? It's been exactly five days."
Earthly Soul snorted dismissively, turned away, and closed his eyes. It had been five whole days. Ever since the Replicator was dealt with by Earthly Soul, I've tried every method, but there's no way out. This special room only lets you in, never out.
In this empty space, it's just me and Earthly Soul staring at each other, barely exchanging a few words.
"If I'd known, I would've let John Chou in."
But then again, if it weren't for John Chou, I might've already been caught outside by now.
"By the way, Ethan Zhang, have you ever thought about going back?"
I blinked, looking at Earthly Soul in confusion, not understanding what he meant by 'going back.'
"Of course I mean the place where we were born—the lake on the mountain."
