Goldwing dove rapidly from the sky, his massive talons lashing out at the Fire Scorpion. He tore fiercely, but the scorpion's armored hide didn't budge in the slightest. Instead, its long, hooked tail whipped around, striking at him in retaliation.
Goldwing had already learned the deadly power of that tail's fire poison. He shot back into the air, then slammed the Fire Scorpion down onto the ground. With a huge, piercing screech, he landed heavily.
"Boss, how is this damn scorpion's defense so insane? I can't even tear it apart—this is nuts!" Goldwing complained bitterly.
Evan glanced at the scorpion sprawled on the ground and said, "Heh, now you see it. This thing's got iron plates for armor—normal attacks won't do a thing. We have to find its weak spot, just like with the Flame Serpent King. Otherwise, there's no way we can beat it."
The Fire Scorpion seemed to get angry. It had just been attacked three times by one person and two beasts, yet hadn't managed to strike back at all—utterly humiliating.
It raised its two massive pincers and charged forward. "Everyone, watch out! Those pincers must pack at least ten thousand pounds of force—don't try to block them head-on!"
Evan dodged away with Shifting Position, the Violet Thunder Fox darted to the side, and Goldwing shot up into the air. Seeing the trio split and escape so quickly, the Fire Scorpion let out a shrill, grating roar.
Suddenly, flames burst from both giant pincers, and a nearly two-meter-long jet of fire shot toward Goldwing in the air. It moved so fast it almost set Goldwing's feathers ablaze.
"This thing can spit fire too? It's seriously tough!" Evan exclaimed.
Seeing it couldn't reach Goldwing in the air, the Fire Scorpion instantly switched its target to Evan Chu. Its massive pincers were still wreathed in blazing flames, but this time the fire didn't shoot out—it just burned fiercely atop the pincers.
