Fortress Part One

The vast cosmos is home to countless forms of life.

From this, myriad and bizarre life races emerge.

If one examines the concept of the Cosmic Myriad Races from a macro perspective, it resembles a three-dimensional pyramid: at the summit are the Four Great Life Races, followed by second-rate life races, then third-rate life races, and finally, at the very base, the non-entry life races.

——

"Cosmic Myriad Races."

"Many life races do not even have a single Void Rift-tier being."

At the core valley of the Awakened Beasts Race, within their sacred cultivation grounds, Andrew Han listened quietly.

As for the side remarks and curious gazes from the surrounding Awakened Beasts, they did not affect Andrew Han in the slightest.

He had long since grown accustomed to such things over the years.

"Elder Xiturok."

Andrew Han scraped his toe against the ground, the crimson earth seemingly composed of countless grains of sand. "Can a race without Void Rift-tier beings really be considered a life race?"

Xiturok, suspended in midair with a body about three centimeters tall and five centimeters long, replied, "Lacking Void Rift-tier is hardly unusual. I have traveled the starry sky and found that many non-entry life races have only a handful of Starlight-tier beings..."

"Non-entry life races are truly this miserable?" Andrew Han blinked his gold-red eyes, feeling oddly unsettled. "How do races with only a few Starlight-tier beings even survive? As far as I know, most regions outside Human Territory are called 'Darkest Starspace.' There are no celestial bodies, no starlight, only endless darkness and absolute cold. For Starlight-tier beings, survival is difficult, and Fusion-tier beings have no place at all."

Darkest Starspace.

An expanse of space defined by utter darkness and extreme harshness.

If a Starlight-tier lifeform were born between the Milky Way and other star systems, with no stars in sight and not even drifting asteroids, that too would count as Darkest Starspace. Yet compared to the true Darkest Starspace, it pales in comparison.

"Andrew Han."

Xiturok lifted his hoof and smiled. "You were born in the exalted Human Territory. How could you possibly understand the cruelty of this starry sky? I dare say you've almost never faced unprovoked attacks or assassination since birth. But in the Darkest Starspace, fighting to survive requires no reason; ambushes and betrayals need no enmity. For those non-entry life races, endless slaughter accompanies them from birth to death. Killing is ordinary, and a lifetime passes without a moment's peace!"

At these words,

Andrew Han let out a heavy breath and shook his head.
