"Because he's the ninety-ninth newcomer. The Newcomer Ceremony has rules—usually, the previous newcomer spars with the latest one so everyone gets to know them. But you heard his tone just now; he's definitely targeting you." Leo Drake said, feeling a bit apologetic, since it was his fault Evan Yang was getting dragged into trouble.
Seeing Leo's expression, Evan Yang laughed. "Relax, we haven't fought yet, right? If he really tries something, I won't hold back."
"You? You're no match for him. You're just first-tier Immortal Lord—beating a first-tier Emperor would already be impressive. Honestly, I think it's a long shot." Leo said worriedly.
"How would you know without fighting? Besides, I just snatched you from his hands earlier." Evan Yang smiled.
"That's true. How did you get me out? Did you use some kind of treasure?" Leo asked curiously, since he was unconscious at the time and only heard Evan mention it later.
"Nope, didn't use anything. You'll see soon enough. If he really tries to make things difficult for me, I'm not letting him off easy." Evan Yang said with a smile.
"You really are something else." Leo Drake looked at Evan and said.
"Am I? I don't think so." Evan Yang replied with a smile.
"Well, you're definitely different. Not like anyone else," Leo said.
"Haha, let's not talk about that. Do you know why any kind of energy can be condensed here?" Evan Yang asked curiously.
"You're talking about this? I was curious at first too, but later I found out—anyone here can condense whatever energy they need: Immortal Source from the Immortal Realm, demonic qi from the Devil Realm, demon-beast qi from the Demon-Beast Realm, it's all possible. So none of us worry about running out of energy." Leo Drake explained.
"That really is strange," Evan Yang muttered.
"If you can't figure it out, just let it go. Come on, let's have a good drink—it's for our friendship and to thank you for saving my life." Leo Drake laughed.
Evan originally wanted to refuse, but then he remembered Leo Drake had lived here for years and probably knew a lot about the Water Temple. Maybe he could find what he was looking for, so he agreed.
Soon, Evan was led by Leo to another cave. The cave was filled with all kinds of things. According to Leo, he'd collected them over time; many had been there for ages. He just liked gathering stuff. Leo found a table and covered it with wine and cups.
"Leo, you really thought of everything—even brought so much stuff to the Water Temple." Evan laughed, seeing all the everyday items.
Leo shook his head. "You're overthinking it. I didn't bring these—they're all picked up."
"Picked up?" Evan Yang asked skeptically.
"That's right. There's a cave on the far side of the sea—things always fall in there. One time I passed by out of curiosity and found these items, so I started collecting them. Eventually, I realized new things kept appearing, so I got in the habit of checking regularly. Sometimes I even find artifacts." Leo Drake laughed.
"Really?" Evan was shocked—it seemed unbelievable. "Yeah, I can hardly believe it myself. But when I ask others, they say they've never been there. It's pretty desolate, so most people avoid it," Leo explained.
