Husband and Wife in Collusion

12/2/2025

Finally, Damien Gray spoke. "I don't have a good relationship with the Cloud Guildmaster, but if you want me to help you deal with the Cloud Guild, what benefit can you offer me?" As he spoke, he pinched Morgan Shangguan's chin and kissed her, clearly in a good mood!

Qin Yan replied respectfully, "I will do everything in my power to help Ghostmaster eliminate the Cloud Guild!"

Damien Gray let out a low laugh, tinged with sarcasm, then said nonchalantly, "I have plenty of ways to deal with the Cloud Guild. I don't need Fortress Lord Qin's help. In this deal, I'm the one losing out!"

"Then... what does Ghostmaster want?" Judging from Damien Gray's tone, there seemed to be room for negotiation! Paying a price might be worth it, though he worried Ghostmaster would make an outrageous demand. After all, the Ghost Guild lacked for nothing—ordinary things surely wouldn't catch his eye!

In other words, anything Ghostmaster wanted was bound to be extraordinary!

Morgan Shangguan spoke up, "I heard Fortress Lord Qin wants to avenge Miss Qin?"

Seeing she was with Damien Gray, Qin Yan dared not offend her. And since Ghostmaster allowed her to speak, she must be favored. He could only answer honestly, "Yes, my daughter was tormented by Yun Fengqing until she was neither human nor ghost. I must avenge her!" Morgan Shangguan's voice was slightly different from the Cloud Guildmaster's, but he noticed nothing unusual—after all, who would suspect the beauty in Ghostmaster's arms was the Cloud Guildmaster herself?

Morgan Shangguan curled her lips into a smile. "It seems Fortress Lord Qin truly hates the Cloud Guildmaster. Then, trading Qin Fortress for it—you shouldn't find that unfair!"

"What?" Qin Yan couldn't help but cry out. He knew Ghostmaster would ask for something unusual, but this was beyond imagination!

Calling it unusual was putting it mildly—this was practically asking for his life!

He came to Ghostmaster, first for revenge, and second to protect Qin Fortress. Now he was being asked to trade Qin Fortress away—how could he agree to that?

"Ghostmaster..." Qin Yan's voice trembled.

Damien Gray said nothing, instead occasionally teasing Morgan Shangguan. Having finally regained his freedom, he was determined to make up for lost time!

Qin Yan was at a loss, unsure how to persuade Ghostmaster to change his mind and accept something he could actually offer.

Morgan Shangguan slapped away the hand on her chest and gently persuaded, "Fortress Lord Qin, think carefully. If Ghostmaster doesn't help you, Qin Fortress will still fall into the Cloud Guildmaster's hands. Would you rather let your enemy take Qin Fortress, or give it to Ghostmaster and let him avenge you, easing your hatred?"

"I..." Her analysis was spot-on. Anyone with a shred of sense would know what to choose. But knowing is one thing—actually doing it is another!

Letting go is easy to say, but how many people can truly do it?

Morgan Shangguan smiled lightly. Asking someone to hand over their entire fortune was indeed difficult. So she considerately added, "Since this concerns Qin Fortress, I think Fortress Lord Qin needs time to think it over. Ghostmaster isn't in a hurry. You can take a few days to consider before replying."

Seeing Ghostmaster didn't object, Qin Yan was both alarmed by Morgan Shangguan's favored position and relieved. With a worried expression, he took his leave.

Once Qin Yan left, Damien Gray lifted Morgan Shangguan's hair and kissed her flirtatiously, smiling, "We failed, huh?"

Morgan Shangguan freed her hair from his grasp, then twined her fingers in his dark locks and said indifferently, "It's only because I'm kind that I gave him a few days' grace."

She tugged him closer, pressing her lips to his, and smiled teasingly, "He'll definitely come looking for you again!"

Damien Gray tightened his hold on her waist, a hint of amusement in his eyes. It seemed Qin Yan was in for a hard time! Pressure from the Cloud Guild was not something just anyone could endure—it would be a torment for both body and mind. Still, as master of Qin Fortress, he probably wouldn't collapse so easily.

He bit her lip and said, "Either way, Qin Yan can't escape. Cloud Guildmaster, you wouldn't mind fulfilling your promise right now, would you?"

Morgan Shangguan cupped his face, pressed her forehead to his, and smiled lazily. "So, what do you want?"

Damien Gray looked at her, seeming to ponder for a moment before saying, "Would you like to tour the Ghost Guild?"

Morgan Shangguan raised her eyebrows slightly, then nodded. "Sure! Let's go back to the manor first!" She started to get up as she spoke.

Damien Gray pulled her back, frowning. "Why go back to the manor?"

"To pick up the babies, of course!"

Hearing this, Damien Gray firmly objected. He'd made this arrangement specifically to temporarily get rid of those two little burdens—how could he let her bring the kids to the Ghost Guild?

Morgan Shangguan smiled helplessly. "Aren't you worried at all?" She didn't think she'd been neglecting him! No need to be so eager to ditch the babies—they were still so young!

Damien Gray retorted, "What's there to worry about? As long as those two don't bully anyone, it's fine!"

It sounded odd to talk about two infants this way, but it was true—ordinary people really couldn't harm Ethan Gray and Roxy Shangguan!

Ethan Gray was well-behaved and wouldn't cause trouble, but Roxy Shangguan was much more mischievous. She seemed adorable, but in reality, she was a little devil—whenever she got bored, she'd stir up trouble, like pretending to be sick. Just a few days ago, after eating her fill, she suddenly started convulsing, nearly scaring the nanny to death!

She always remembered Morgan Shangguan's lesson: as long as she didn't harm her own people, it was fine. And 'her own people' meant only Damien Gray, Morgan Shangguan, and Ethan Gray. So the nanny, who spent the most time with her, was pitiful—she could only pray for Roxy to grow up quickly, or else she'd surely be scared into a heart attack!

Qin Yan left the room, but didn't see the person who had led him there earlier. Distracted, he walked back, but suddenly heard strange noises. He stopped, then realized the sounds were coming from inside a room.
