Save Me, Run to Ninth Royal Uncle After Making Trouble
Storm Cloud Bu had no idea how he managed to walk out of Feng Manor. All he knew was that he’d just promised Serena something he absolutely shouldn’t have.
Wuwuwu... What do I do now?
Storm Cloud Bu looked utterly miserable. After telling Vincent Su what had happened, he gazed at him pitifully. "Vincent, you have to save me this time."
Because of Bella, Ninth Royal Uncle still wouldn’t see him. Right now, he didn’t dare show his face in front of Ninth Royal Uncle at all.
"Save you? I’m so mad I could kill you myself." Vincent Su’s face darkened in fury. "How could you be so stupid? You actually agreed to Serena’s request? Do you think Serena is like Bella—someone who’ll forget everything just because Lance shows up? With how alert Serena is, she’ll definitely sense something’s wrong. No, wait—she’s already noticed something’s off, otherwise she wouldn’t have insisted on being present to watch."
"Then—then what do I do now?" Storm Cloud Bu wore a bitter expression. He regretted it too, but at the time he’d had no choice. "Vincent, I really didn’t mean to. You don’t know what it was like—if I hadn’t agreed, or if I’d hesitated for even a second, Serena would’ve suspected Lance’s death wasn’t real."
Why couldn’t Serena be more like Bella? Clever women really are a headache.
"You think agreeing will stop Serena from suspecting? Keep dreaming." Vincent Su wanted to slap Storm Cloud Bu right then and there. "You made this mess—now you clean it up."
"But—but... Lance is coming this afternoon. How am I supposed to fix this?" With so little time, he couldn’t think of a solution at all.
"Did you tell Serena when the meeting would be?" Vincent, after his initial anger, had to help Storm Cloud Bu clean up the mess—otherwise, it wouldn’t just be Storm Cloud Bu in trouble.
"No, I said... I still need to find someone. I’ll let Serena know once I’ve found the right person." Storm Cloud Bu answered quickly. Vincent Su gave him an approving look. "At least you have a bit of sense left. Since you didn’t give Serena a definite time, we still have room to maneuver."
"But—but... if Serena notices Bella’s condition improving, she’ll definitely be suspicious. And if she finds out I didn’t notify her, won’t that make her even more suspicious?" Storm Cloud Bu’s mind actually worked well—just not when it came to Bella.
"If that happens, I’m out of ideas too. Just tell Ninth Royal Uncle everything this afternoon—maybe he’ll have a solution." Vincent Su spread his hands, helpless.
It wasn’t that he was being a bad friend—Storm Cloud Bu had really messed up this time. If things went south, Ninth Royal Uncle might just want to kill him himself.
After all the time and effort, with Brandon Bu still recovering in bed... If something went wrong now, everything they’d done would become a joke.
"Ninth Royal Uncle, he..." Storm Cloud Bu looked uneasy. Vincent Su snorted, refusing to cut him any slack. "Only now you’re scared? When you were threatening and pressuring Ninth—cough, cough—back then, you weren’t so afraid."
"I was just worried about Bella." Storm Cloud Bu said it as if it was only natural. Vincent Su’s last bit of sympathy vanished.
Storm Cloud Bu totally deserved this.
Just as Vincent Su expected, when Ninth Royal Uncle learned how badly Storm Cloud Bu had messed up, he didn’t let him off easy. He tossed Storm Cloud Bu straight into the shadow guard camp: "Come back when you’ve learned to be smart."
As for Bella Qin?
After seeing Lance Quinn, Bella Qin’s spirits improved noticeably. As for her heart illness? Ninth Royal Uncle no longer dared let Serena treat her. For now, Sutton Manor’s doctors would nurse her back to health; once she was stronger, she’d be sent to Heaven’s First Consortium, and Mystic Healer Valley would dispatch a physician to look after her.
Storm Cloud Bu strongly disagreed with this, but since he was now ‘under punishment,’ Ninth Royal Uncle and Vincent Su ignored his protests.
For Bella Qin, this was the best possible arrangement. As for her heart illness? If there was a chance in the future, the Valley Master could come and examine her.
"What about Serena?" Bella Qin was easy to settle, but Serena was never easy to deal with.
Ninth Royal Uncle thought for a moment, then said, "Leak the news from Lyndaria to Serena, and exaggerate Feng Jin’s illness."
Feng Jin fell ill as soon as he arrived in Lyndaria. He’d always been frail, and although Serena had nursed him to better health over the past two years, the exhausting journey was too much for his small body. Lyndaria and Eastlyn were far apart, and everything—from lifestyle to environment—was different.
The moment Feng Jin reached Lyndaria, he started vomiting and having diarrhea—classic water-soil incompatibility. The imperial physicians tried to treat him, but nothing really worked; his condition kept swinging between better and worse. Left Shore had already written to Serena, but the letter hadn’t arrived yet. Ninth Royal Uncle got the news first.
"Alright." Vincent Su glanced quietly at Ninth Royal Uncle, then lowered his head, not daring to say a word—afraid Ninth Royal Uncle would lump him in with Storm Cloud Bu as a co-conspirator.
"Feng Jin is sick?"
Ninth Royal Uncle knew Serena all too well. The moment she got word from Lyndaria, she couldn’t sit still. That night she rushed to Sutton Manor: "Vincent, Feng Jin’s in trouble in Lyndaria—I have to go there. I’ve already prescribed medicine for Bella and outlined how to support her emotionally. If you follow my plan, her condition should stay stable."
Vincent Su had known all along, but at this moment he still had to pretend shock and offer a few words of concern.
"Serena, you don’t need to worry about Miss Qin. Yesterday, Storm Cloud Bu hinted to her about Lance, and her complexion improved right away. Once Storm Cloud finds the right person, she’ll only get better and better."
"I’ll go check on her and prescribe medicine for her current condition." Serena was anxious about Feng Jin, but she couldn’t just abandon Bella Qin.
Vincent Su had no reason to refuse. He signaled a servant to notify Bella Qin ahead of time, then led Serena to Bella’s courtyard.
Unlike before, when she’d been lifeless, Bella Qin was still frail, but now she seemed revived. She even managed a gentle, peaceful smile at Serena.
Could just a single piece of news really work such magic?
Serena was deeply skeptical, but she couldn’t stay in Eastlyn to get to the bottom of things.
Still, Bella Qin’s physical condition eased some of Serena’s doubts. Bella was still weak, but now she had a will to survive—a reason to live—which made her look much more alive.
"Miss Qin, rest well." Serena finished her examination, gave Bella no chance to speak, packed up her medical kit, and went out to the outer room. There, she quickly wrote out her diagnostic report and prescribed enough medicine for Bella.
"Here’s my diagnostic report—keep it for whichever doctor treats her in the future. These are the medicines I prescribed for Miss Qin. There’s only enough for half a month. If possible, have the doctor send me her updated report after half a month; I’ll adjust her prescriptions based on her condition." Serena was meticulous. Storm Cloud Bu thanked her repeatedly, but deep down, he felt a twinge of guilt.
If Storm Cloud Bu hadn’t been such an idiot, Serena wouldn’t have been sent off to Lyndaria by Ninth Royal Uncle...
