Stone Beauty Statues

Evan Yang was surprised and said, "I didn't expect your sect to have something like that."

"So when you saw through that mirror, I naturally knew that divine sense was yours, which is why I chose you," Lynn said with a smile.

"Is this fate, then?" Evan teased.

"Wishful thinking! It's not that easy," Lynn was first startled, then laughed.

"I'm talking about being friends. Didn't you just choose me to be your friend? Are you not treating me as a friend now?" Evan muttered after hearing her reply.

Seeing Evan so clueless, Lynn laughed and said, "Look, I almost forgot—sorry about that. From now on, you're my very first friend."

"Feeling lucky, aren't you? So, shouldn't you treat me to some wine?" Lynn started teasing Evan back.

"Uh, didn't you just drink some?" Evan blurted out, thinking of what happened on the boat.

"Just now? That was only one cup," Lynn replied casually.

Chapter 127: The Gift of a Space Ring, Carrying the Drunken Beauty on His Back

Lynn Snowmoon was the only one who knew about her trick, and didn't expect Evan to notice. She laughed, "I didn't think you'd catch me."

"Miss Xue, I watched openly! But how did you make the wine vanish?" Evan asked curiously, looking at Lynn.

When Evan asked about the wine, Lynn extended her right hand. On her index finger was a decorative ring, which she waved in front of Evan. "Look."

"A ring?" Evan was puzzled. How could a ring possibly be related to the missing wine?

"You've never seen a Space Ring?" Lynn asked back when she saw Evan still didn't get it.

"I've seen storage pouches, but a ring? Don't tell me you put all the wine in the ring!" Evan exclaimed.

"Of course! This isn't an ordinary ring—it's already bound to me. Unless I die or willingly release it, no one can open it, no matter how strong they are," Lynn said proudly.

"Refined, huh?" Evan knew that after reaching the Core-Formation stage, cultivators could refine weapons and similar items.

"Didn't expect you to know about refinement. Not bad! Here, this is for you—a gift for being my friend," Lynn took out another ring from her own, nearly identical except hers was blue and the one she gave Evan was black.

"This gift is way too valuable!" Evan knew such things were only owned by major sects and clans. He'd just met Lynn, so receiving something like this felt a bit inappropriate.

"You're my very first friend—consider it a keepsake. Hurry and take it, or I'll throw it off this cliff!" Lynn joked, acting a bit shameless.

In the end, Evan could only accept it helplessly and laughed, "Thanks, then."

"Once you reach the Core-Formation stage, you'll be able to refine it. For now, just keep it safe," Lynn said kindly, knowing Evan hadn't broken through yet.

Evan nodded and put it away.

"Now that I've given you a gift, shouldn't you treat me to some wine?" Lynn laughed.

"Alright, I'll risk my life to keep you company!" Evan laughed.

"Risk your life, huh? Let's go." Lynn laughed, grabbed Evan, and suddenly soared into the air. Evan was startled but quickly calmed down. As expected, Lynn dragged him off to a tavern in the slums for some wild drinking.

Whether Lynn did it on purpose or not, after a few jars she collapsed.

"Hey, hey, you're not just going to collapse like that, are you?" Evan put down his jar and looked at Lynn, whose face was flushed as she lay there.

A waiter came over and said, "Sir, she might be drunk. You should help her get some rest."

"Here, take these," Evan handed over a few pieces of low-grade Spirit Crystal Ore. He was glad they'd come to a tavern in the slums; otherwise, if some stubborn young masters saw, who knows what drama might unfold.

After paying, Evan looked at the drunken Lynn and muttered, "If you can't handle your liquor, just force it out with cultivation. Why bother?"

Lynn seemed not to hear and continued lying there.

"Well, here we go again—gotta carry you back." Evan thought, since she'd given him a ring and treated him as a real friend, he couldn't leave her here alone. So he hoisted Lynn onto his back and walked toward the riverbank.

Luckily, it was late at night and there weren't many people on the streets. Evan carried Lynn quite a long way.

"Another cup!" Whether it was the alcohol talking or not, Lynn suddenly blurted this out while on Evan's back, startling him.

"A girl drinking so much..." Evan couldn't forget the whole drinking process, and that worried look on her face seemed to let out a lot of pent-up feelings.

It made Evan wonder what kind of sect could raise a woman like Lynn.

"Don't look at me like that—it's just a Broken Heirloom Cauldron with a space and a few illusory beauties inside." Jax said, as if he'd seen it before.

The attendant saw Evan carrying Lynn and immediately jumped off the boat, running over. She helped Lynn down and complained to Evan, "How could you let her drink so much?"

"Uh..." Evan wanted to explain but didn't get the chance. After being scolded, the group helped Lynn back inside.

Seeing Lynn safely back on the boat, Evan didn't think much about it and left, heading to meet Jax at the agreed place.

After Lynn was brought to her bed, she opened her eyes, sat up, and forced the alcohol out with her qi.

"Junior sister, you...?" The attendant was surprised to see Lynn sober up so quickly.

"On the outside, there's nothing special—just a broken cauldron." Evan muttered to himself as he studied the Broken Heirloom Cauldron.

"Don't tell him about tonight," Lynn said, glancing out the window at Evan, who had already left.

"Junior sister, why?" the attendant asked, puzzled.

"It's nothing. Go rest—tomorrow will be busy." Thinking about having sent off four honored guests today, Lynn knew she'd have to deal with the aftermath.

"Why would anyone put such lifelike stone sculptures in a space like this?" Evan wondered to himself, confirming they were lifeless figures.
