1/11/2026

On the rooftop, deathly silence stretched without end.

"Who are you!?"

"What are you doing here!?"

The two Martial Artists paled in shock, staring fixedly at Andrew Han, half-convinced he was possessed by a ghost.

It wasn't that their nerves were weak.

Rather, it was the bizarre way Andrew Han had appeared.

The smooth wall was over ten meters high—not impossible to climb, but what truly unsettled them was that he had done so in utter silence.

Both were Martial Artists, yet neither had sensed a thing?

Absurd beyond belief!

Utterly unfathomable!

Meanwhile, Changfu Chu and Culver Chu felt their hearts clench, goosebumps rising as they stared at Andrew Han, holding their breath, not daring to make a sound.

At that moment—

May Lin's pupils contracted in shock. "Xiao Dong?"

She was trapped in the midst of the ghost siege, burdened by looming financial ruin. Misery and loneliness weighed on her heart, but she never imagined she would encounter Andrew Han here.

Andrew Han, the son of her old friend Linda Chen.

She had first met Andrew Han when visiting Riverford City.

Later, she had invited him to her home two or three times as a guest.

"Xiao Dong!"

"It's dangerous here—leave now!" May Lin blurted out, her voice urgent and instinctive.

But the tension had just peaked, her body frozen with fear, and Andrew Han's sudden appearance had left her legs so weak she couldn't move.

In fact—

May Lin almost forgot that Andrew Han was a Martial Arts Program student.

Even with her clear-headed reasoning, she couldn’t believe Xiao Dong could possibly stand against such terrifying Specters. After all, even these two Martial Artists were on edge, treading carefully as if walking on thin ice.

To her, Andrew Han—

Was just a Third Rank Martial Arts Program student, freshly admitted to Southland University, nowhere near the status of true Martial Artists.

But—

Judging Andrew Han by common logic was the greatest mistake.

"Aunt Lin, there’s no need to worry."

His eyes were as tranquil as a still lake, utterly unruffled, as if he viewed all things in the world with calm detachment.

Danger?

It simply didn’t exist.

A handful of ordinary Specters couldn’t possibly act up in front of him. Even if several General-class ghosts appeared at once, he would only need to temporarily avoid their edge.

"Enough."

"Aunt Lin, don’t worry. Once I’ve killed these Specters, we can—" Andrew Han stepped toward her, but his expression suddenly changed.

White clouds covered the sky; shadows spread.

The gentle sunlight instantly dimmed.

It was as if omnipresent shadows blanketed the earth, draining all color from the autumn day. Below, the Specters instantly pierced through the concrete structure and surged up onto the rooftop.

Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!

In the darkness, three blood-red phantoms emerged.

They were fully intelligent Specters, nearly at General-class, and their ghostly forms seemed to flow with crimson blood, making them even more grotesque and terrifying.

Indeed—

These three Specters were nothing but clay chickens and pottery dogs before Andrew Han.

But one of them was behind Aunt Lin... It extended its shadowy claws and opened a gaping, blood-red maw, as if blotting out all hope of life, intending to bite and drain Aunt Lin’s consciousness in an instant.

Even Andrew Han hadn’t expected—

The Specters’ assault was so fierce!

"You—"

His eyes widened. "You’re looking for death!!!"

Boom!

The steel-reinforced rooftop buckled inward!

It was a quake like earth and mountains shaking—the entire retirement club shuddered, and even the ground within a hundred meters trembled faintly.

Anyone who dared harm Aunt Lin—

Whether Demon or Specter, there was only one outcome—death!!!

Whoosh!

Daylight Ascent!

He moved like lightning and thunder, exploding across the rooftop!

Striding forward, his body was like a thunderbolt racing for hundreds of meters. Andrew Han unleashed mysterious, ethereal footwork—one stride spanned ten meters, two strides thirty—as he instantly charged toward Aunt Lin.

Shrrk!

The wind howled, the air itself shattered.

It was a scene beyond words—like a giant truck bearing mountains, charging through the rooftop, swift as thunder.

"Xiao Dong?"

May Lin was so terrified her whole body froze.

She stared in shock as Andrew Han’s figure flashed across the rooftop, his pale blue silhouette dominating the scene. Deep inside, her instincts sensed a life-or-death crisis looming from behind.

All was silent; the moment froze like a painting.

The instant that boom erupted, it was as if the wind scattered for a hundred meters around. Time itself seemed to crawl, and a violent, visible trail split the air, cracks spreading across the concrete toward May Lin.

"Die!"

Andrew Han, brimming with savage momentum, reached Aunt Lin.

But at the same moment—

Behind Aunt Lin, the crimson Specter’s maw descended, inching closer and closer, ready to snatch away her life.

Faster!

Hurry!

Faster, please—!

Andrew Han’s right foot slammed down, his waist twisted, and his left fist, coiled behind him like a roaring cannonball, shot forward—passing just above Aunt Lin’s left shoulder and blasting ahead.

Boom!!!

The crimson Specter was knocked back more than twenty meters.

Its almost solid, terrifying form faded drastically in an instant—becoming nearly invisible.

Whoosh!

A wild gust of wind struck; May Lin’s body trembled.

If Andrew Han hadn’t steadied her, the shockwave alone would have sent her tumbling through the air.

"Aunt Lin, are you alright?" Andrew Han asked urgently.

A Specter could drain an ordinary person’s consciousness in mere moments; only those with exceptionally strong will could resist for even a bit longer.

But regardless—

Even a gun in an ordinary person’s hands was no match for a Specter.

"I—I’m fine," May Lin managed to gasp, swaying unsteadily, her eyes utterly blank. Her mind was a void; she could only answer by instinct.

Terrifying!

Far too terrifying!

Andrew Han’s explosive charge was like being hit head-on by a heavy truck... No, it was even more violent than that—beyond all reason.

"I’m fine, I’m alright."

May Lin continued to reply instinctively.

Her mind was completely blank. She let Andrew Han support her as she sat on the rooftop, her gaze falling on the spreading cracks ahead, her heart trembling twice over.

The cracks radiated awe-inspiring might.

The swirling air underscored his overwhelming presence.

May Lin seemed to be living a silent pantomime, her thoughts muddled, able only to gasp for fresh air.

Drip.

A drop of blood slid down her back.

The crimson Specter’s interference had disrupted her internal circulation from a distance. May Lin was, after all, just an ordinary person—far too different from a martial artist. Even the residual force, striking from afar, had truly hurt her.

Drip.

A second drop of blood fell to the ground, blooming into a crimson flower.

Only now, as May Lin caught her breath, did she faintly feel a sharp pain in her back, as if something had exploded there.

Suddenly, Andrew Han froze.
