Delivering Medicine and an Umbrella

"Divine Lady Lucia, maybe you should just let it go!" Princess Quinn Xiao said. "Class is almost over, and even if you want to do another test, who’s going to supervise? My father the Emperor has been busy all day—you can’t expect him to sit here for another two hours watching you, can you?"

Lucia Lu replied with determination, "To prevent cheating, may His Majesty the Celestial Emperor seal me inside a Dragon Barrier. Once I’m done, please unlock it and take my paper."

The Celestial Emperor nodded, "Alright! Here’s a Teleport Slip. When you’re finished, just send me your test. The Dragon Barrier will open automatically."

"Yes, Your Majesty." Lucia bowed.

Brandon Xiao and Princess Quinn exchanged glances, both looking pretty unhappy.

They’d tried to trip her up, but it was all for nothing.

After class, everyone left.

Only Lucia remained, sealed inside the Dragon Barrier, completely cut off from the outside world.

She spent another two hours rewriting the test.

Then she teleported it straight to the Celestial Emperor.

After the test was sent, the barrier opened automatically.

As soon as the barrier opened, she realized it was already nighttime.

Somehow, a torrential rain had started outside.

Standing at the Instruction Hall gate, Lucia muttered to herself, "Wow, it’s really coming down! Back in the Lumina Realm, we almost never get rain this heavy..."

"Missing the Lumina Realm?" Suddenly, a voice sounded beside her.

Lucia’s eyes widened. She turned to see Qilin Divine Lord Soren Lann, holding an umbrella, standing under the eaves and smiling at her.

He was dressed all in white, standing quietly.

Gentle as jade, utterly flawless.

"Divine Lord?" Lucia cried out in delight. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to see the Celestial Emperor, and thought I’d check on my Senior Sister while I was here," Soren said with a smile. "How did you end up in such a sorry state? It’s so late and you’re still doing homework?"

Lucia made a face. "How am I miserable? I’m fine! My hand just hurts—that’s all. I’ve been writing for four hours straight today!"

Soren set down the umbrella, walked over, and gently took her hand. He produced a green pill, activated it into mist, and let it absorb through her wrist.

"Feel any better now?"

"Much better!" Lucia laughed. "You’re like rain right on time—medicine and an umbrella, all at once!"

"Come on, I’ll walk you back." Soren picked up the umbrella again.

Lucia ducked under the umbrella, and the two of them headed off together toward her place.

"Huh? This umbrella..." Lucia looked up and spotted the patch.

"It’s the one you gave me," Soren said.

"You kept a broken umbrella all this time?" Lucia teased. "You’re the mighty Qilin Divine Lord now—aren’t you worried people will laugh if you show up with a patched umbrella?"

"It was a gift from my Senior Sister," Soren replied. "Of course I have to treasure it."

"Ha! Are you trying to make me blush on purpose?" Lucia laughed out loud.

"You can blush?" Soren tilted his head, giving her a curious look.

"Okay, fine, I admit I’ve never really given you anything good—it’s always you giving me stuff," Lucia said. "I mean, your Senior Sister’s broke! Someday, when I have money, I’ll shower you with gifts!"

"Money?" Soren looked both amused and exasperated. "Still so clueless!"

"What do you mean, clueless?" Lucia shot him a look.

"Clueless means... slow!"

"Soren! Are you asking for a beating again?"

"Haha! Just kidding, just kidding—my Senior Sister is the smartest! Let’s hurry up, we’re about to get soaked." Soren tipped the umbrella even more toward her side...
