Whereabouts, Still a Step Too Late

"You're not qualified to know."

Pfft—

The man froze for a split second. Prince Nolan's sword had already pierced his chest, then withdrew, sending a spray of bright red blood arcing beautifully through the air.

Seeing Prince Nolan so brazen, the Red Blood Hall killers couldn't hold back any longer—they turned their main assault on him, determined to take him out first.

But Prince Nolan was never so easy to pin down. When the Red Blood Hall assassins closed in, he flashed a hand signal to his shadow guards, ordering them to escort Zed and the Master of Mystic Healer Valley to safety.

With those two here, they'd only be dead weight.

The shadow guards never hesitated to carry out Prince Nolan's orders. Of the original eight, only five remained: three charged ahead, one shielded the Master of Mystic Healer Valley, and another stepped up to take Zed from Dorian Owen's back.

"Let me help you." Dorian Owen instantly grasped the guards' intent and jumped in to clear a path. With his help, their retreat sped up.

"After them!" The Red Blood Hall assassins knew the shadow guards were the weakest link in the group—they weren't about to let them escape. Eight men split off: three tangled with Dorian Owen, five chased after the retreat.

Now it was Serena Feng's turn. She sprinted toward the retreat, but the shadow guards and Red Blood Hall killers were too close together—if she aimed at the assassins, she'd risk hitting her own. She lined up her gun, but every time she targeted a Red Blood Hall killer, the shot threatened a shadow guard instead.

With no other choice, Serena Feng decided to test her tacit understanding with the shadow guards.

"Go left!" Serena Feng shouted. The shadow guards looked up and instantly understood what she meant, dodging left at once.

The Red Blood Hall killers heard this and also tried to dodge left, but it was too late.

When the shadow guards moved left, they lowered their bodies slightly, perfectly exposing the Red Blood Hall killers.

"Nice work." Serena Feng gripped her gun with both hands, her eyes resolute as she pulled the trigger without hesitation.

Bang—a bullet grazed a shadow guard's hair and shot toward the Red Blood Hall killer behind him.

Serena Feng and the shadow guards really did have a tacit understanding; they knew her shout to go left meant she was about to fire that way.

"Watch out for hidden weapons!" one Red Blood Hall killer yelled, but they were still slower than the bullets. With a crack, the bullet buried itself in a shoulder, making the wounded man drop his blade with a clang.

Bang—another shot. This time Serena was lucky; the bullet hit the enemy's throat directly. Blood spurted, and the man collapsed.

"No Shadow, go kill that woman." After suffering two losses in a row, the Red Blood Hall killers changed tactics again, focusing on Serena Feng, who wielded hidden weapons.
