Battle Before the Death God’s Stone Coffin

2/27/2026

Yang Han asked curiously, "What have you heard, senior?"

The Blood Demon Lord said, "The old generation used to say the Death God was nearly a defy-Heaven existence, basically above Heavenly Dao itself. Do you know what that means? It means nobody under Heavenly Dao could match him. He cultivated a terrifying technique—death aura. Anyone who followed him would be tainted by this aura and eventually become death aura themselves. But somehow, he vanished from the world. If I hadn't heard today that he's here, I'd have thought it was a myth. Who could be so strong as to surpass Heavenly Dao?"

After hearing all this, Yang Han really felt he'd come somewhere he shouldn't have. But there was no turning back now. He could only smile bitterly and say, "Well, nothing I can do. I'm already here. But just now, I learned from that guy's illusion that the Death God seems to be... not fully conscious."

"Not conscious? Asleep?" The Blood Demon Lord asked, intrigued.

"I don't really know. But right now, I need to find a way out of here and keep searching for the Divine Pill Chapter." Yang Han said, feeling annoyed at Stone Freak for tossing the Divine Pill Chapter into such a bizarre place.

At this moment, Yang Han checked around the palace, but found no tunnels or exits. He could only think about the path outside the door.

"Other palaces might have people like this too. Looks like I can't risk entering another palace." With this experience, Yang Han decided he'd just charge out and find another way to leave, never entering a palace again.

Yang Han braced himself, seeing the group outside already blocking the entrance. He forcefully activated the Heaven-Cold Seed, making sure he wouldn't immediately wither when he rushed out.

Once ready, Yang Han split into clones. Each clone took a different direction, so in an instant, over a dozen Yang Hans came out, all with the same aura and speed. The creatures outside were stunned, then attacked randomly, unable to tell which was real.

Yang Han was among one of them, which reduced a lot of attacks on him. He headed toward the area without any creatures, while the other clones quickly aged and vanished.

When those creatures realized the real body had escaped, they chased after him furiously. Luckily, Yang Han was faster, quickly shaking them off and darting into a tunnel opposite the one he'd come in from.

As he walked through the tunnel, Yang Han felt the death aura growing heavier and heavier.

"Why is it getting so much stronger?" Yang Han muttered suspiciously as he sensed the aura thickening.

This was definitely not a good sign. Yang Han frowned and walked forward cautiously, staying alert for anything unexpected.

Soon, Yang Han's Thousand-Mile Echo picked up a sound like wind blowing.

"Wind? Is there another exit here?" Yang Han wondered aloud, so he kept moving forward. But the deeper he went, the harder it was to keep the Heaven-Cold Seed running.

Yang Han had to stop and catch his breath, then continued listening to the sound. The noise rose and fell in waves. After resting a bit, he moved toward it.

He soon reached the end of the tunnel, and when he stepped out, he was stunned by what he saw: thick brown gas everywhere, and in the center, a gigantic stone coffin—big enough to hold hundreds of people. Why would something like this appear here? Yang Han's first thought was: could this be the Death God?

Holding his breath, he quickly pinpointed the source of the sound—it was coming from inside the stone coffin. Something was sleeping inside, and the aura it exhaled was strong enough to form a wind that blew out from here.

What shocked Yang Han even more was that the aura drifting from the coffin was also brown—which meant all this gas was coming from the coffin. Staring at the scene, Yang Han was frozen in place. Even the Blood Demon Lord, a terrifying existence under Heavenly Dao, couldn't help but say, "Kid, you're really not afraid of death."

"If I die here, there's nothing I can do about it," Yang Han said.

"Are you really going up there?" The Blood Demon Lord was shocked to see Yang Han walking toward the stone coffin without stopping.

"Just want to take a look," Yang Han replied.

"You're insane," the Blood Demon Lord said in disbelief.

"Wait, I think I've found what we're looking for." Yang Han was about to check out the coffin, but noticed a lot of items placed around it, arranged like offerings in front of the stone coffin.

The Blood Demon Lord followed Yang Han's gaze, and sure enough, saw many things laid out on a stone altar. Among them was something that looked just like a scripture—the Divine Pill Chapter.

Yang Han quietly walked over, picked it up, and saw it was indeed the Divine Pill Chapter. He was overjoyed and put it away, planning to check for other treasures when a voice suddenly rang out: "How dare you disturb the Death God's rest? You're courting death!"

The voice came from behind. Yang Han turned and saw a skeletal man, eyes burning with faint flames, holding a wooden staff and staring at him.

"What is this now?" Yang Han muttered to himself.

"Kid, that's a type of Skeleton Warden. Be careful—this one has already stepped into the Heavenly Dao realm," the Blood Demon Lord warned Yang Han.

Yang Han looked at the skeleton and sensed some Heavenly Dao Intent, but it was only a few dozen strands—nothing to be worried about, he thought.

But Yang Han's initial judgment was wrong. Seeing Yang Han ignore him, the Skeleton Warden snapped angrily, "How dare you ignore me! You're dead!"

The Skeleton Warden waved its wooden staff, and countless small skeletons appeared in the surrounding space. Each one looked at Yang Han like a starving ghost.

"So many? That's noisy enough," Yang Han muttered.

"I'll kill you first, then offer you to my master," the Skeleton Warden said.

The skeletons attacked Yang Han, who drew his Limitless Spear and smashed any that got close. The Skeleton Warden grew furious seeing Yang Han break so many so easily. The flames in its eyes blazed brighter, and a green light enveloped the skeletons, making them much harder to break—now it took five or six strikes. Yang Han was soon surrounded.

If things kept going like this, Yang Han would definitely be torn apart soon. So, he instantly unleashed lightning along the Limitless Spear—purple lightning. Smiling, he said, "Let me show you what purple lightning really is."

The purple lightning struck the skeletons, quickly scattering them. The Skeleton Warden saw Yang Han's purple lightning and the flames in its eyes started jumping wildly. Its jaw moved, and the skeleton's mouth croaked, "How dare you use that!"

"That's right. This lightning is the natural nemesis of you dead things," Yang Han said with a grin.

Clearly enraged, the Skeleton Warden summoned even more powerful skeletons, but Yang Han's lightning suppressed them, weakening their strength. Still, he knew this couldn't go on forever—he had to destroy the Skeleton Warden itself.

Yang Han gathered a massive bolt of lightning and smashed it down on the Skeleton Warden's head. In an instant, its head and body split apart, limbs scattered, and its wooden staff flew off somewhere.

The remaining skull rolled on the ground, its jaw croaking, "My master won't let you get away with this."

"Your master hasn't moved for ages. I bet he's still sleeping," Yang Han joked.

"Impossible," the skeleton said. Yang Han ignored it, walked over, and kicked the skull. The soul-flame flickered a few times, then shot up and flew straight into the stone coffin.

Yang Han was stunned, staring at the stone coffin, afraid something might change right now. If whatever was inside burst out, it would be terrifying.

"Get out, something's changing!" The Blood Demon Lord shouted in alarm. Yang Han knew this wasn't a joke—he spun around and retreated at once.

Behind him, the noises grew louder—no longer gentle, but urgent, as if something was about to wake up.

Yang Han didn't dare stop for a second, pushing his speed to the max. He soon reached the palaces he'd seen before, weaving through them as monsters chased and attacked him.

Using his clones to distract some of the monsters, Yang Han quickly retraced his steps, not daring to pause. The creatures seemed to sense the noise and stopped chasing him.

Even now, Yang Han could still hear the sounds from behind, showing just how massive the noise was.

Meanwhile, Hao Ming, who was waiting, also heard the noise. He frowned and said, "That sound... it's so loud?"

As he wondered what was happening, Yang Han appeared in front of him and said, "Quick, retreat!"

Though he didn't know what was going on, Hao Ming didn't dare linger and ran with Yang Han. The two retraced their steps, but the path had changed, forcing them to keep moving like they were lost in a maze. The noise grew closer and farther by turns.

Finally, Yang Han stopped and said, "Let's head away from the noise—maybe that's the way out."

Hao Ming thought it made sense and followed Yang Han away from the sound. Outside, Du Snake Lady, who had been waiting, also heard the booming and fading noise coming from the cave.

"What's going on?" Du Snake Lady muttered.

Stone Freak asked suspiciously, "What is that sound?"

It was the first time Du Snake Lady and Stone Freak had heard this noise, so both were curious about its source. Meanwhile, Yang Han was running desperately, afraid he'd be stopped.

"What is that sound, anyway? Why did it suddenly get so loud?" Hao Ming asked, following alongside.

Yang Han replied, "It's the voice of something terrifying. Just keep running."
