Selling the King Family's Merits in the United Kingdom

1/4/2026

So Charles Yin very obediently suggested going to England to promote the King Family to the locals.

Sure enough, Cecilia Gu was absolutely delighted.

Her husband really is the best!

With the issue between Rona Muir and Jiro Hirayama resolved, both families were overjoyed.

Except for Sean Kerr, who's far away overseas.

When Sean Kerr heard the news, he was so downcast he could write one of Shakespeare's great tragedies!

But it was all for nothing.

Who told him to act up like that back then?

Mr. Hirayama and his wife left a huge pile of betrothal gifts for Rona Muir, then happily returned to Japan to prepare for the wedding.

This wedding is going to be held in both China and Japan!

Cecilia Gu wanted all three couples to have their wedding together, so she postponed the date a bit. She planned to hurry to England, visit Miles Gu, and help promote the King Family, while also helping Julian King sort out things in England.

So after Cecilia Gu's pregnancy was completely stable, another month passed.

When the doctors all declared that Cecilia Gu was in perfect health and could do whatever she wanted, she grabbed Charles Yin, who had just cleared his work schedule, and the sweetly-in-love Rona Muir and Jiro Hirayama, and together they flew to England.

Cecilia Gu and Charles Yin were totally familiar with Europe!

So as soon as they landed, they went to chat with Earl Field.

Cecilia Gu saw with her own eyes that Miles Gu had already become a little British noble, and she couldn't help but feel emotional for a long time.

Without Yin Yuhan leading him into trouble, Miles Gu really was the good kid everyone thought he was!

He was just way too outstanding!

When Miles Gu saw Cecilia Gu arrive, he was so happy he couldn't stop holding her hand, no matter where they were.

Earl Field showed up a few times, but soon got busy again, looking like he barely had time to touch the ground.

Jiro Hirayama spent a whole day chatting with Dr. Felix Field, the second son of the Field Family.

Huh? How did they chat?

It was simple! Each of them sat with a bunch of test tubes, doing their own experiments.

Yep, that's exactly how they communicated!

This time, Cecilia Gu finally met the legendary Lord Albert Field, the eldest son of the Field Family!

He really was sickly—basically always in bed or a wheelchair, and talking too much made him short of breath.

No wonder Duke Field never expected his eldest son to carry on the family line. With a body like that, it would be tough.

After a few days at the Field Family estate, Charles Yin took everyone to visit the King Family.

The King Family is also part of London's high society.

It's not just because the King Family controls resources, but also because they know how to treat people and have always maintained good relationships with other nobles.

As the saying goes, everyone makes money together.

So even though the British care a lot about bloodlines, they still accepted the King Family, who are of Chinese descent.

The King Family has a huge manor on the outskirts of London.

English manors are absolutely beautiful, and Cecilia Gu really felt that.

But the King Manor was truly the best of them all.

Standing at the entrance of King Manor, Cecilia Gu couldn't help but rave before even getting out of the car: "The designer of this manor must've been a genius! Every detail is so artistic and harmonious."

Julian King, who came out to greet them, heard Cecilia Gu's praise and grinned, "Then I'll thank you on behalf of my ancestors."

Cecilia Gu exclaimed in surprise, "Your ancestor designed this manor?"

Julian King nodded with a smile. "That's right."

Cecilia Gu couldn't help but praise him even more: "No wonder... It really is a masterpiece."

The people walking ahead naturally overheard their conversation and couldn't help but chuckle.

The King Family gave Charles Yin the warmest welcome.

Besides Julian King greeting them at the door, several other heirs also came out to welcome them.

"Having President Yin visit the King Family truly brings honor to our home!" Julian King's eldest brother shook Charles Yin's hand firmly. "President Yin is the kind of guest we could never hope to invite!"

Charles Yin smiled and returned the handshake, "Not at all, you're too kind. King Manor is a rare beauty—without the proper mindset to appreciate it, how could I dare to disturb such a place?"

Listening to their polite exchange, Jiro Hirayama said to Rona Muir, "Businesspeople really are fake!"

That awkwardness probably referred to his brothers, who are more than twenty years older than him.

Thinking about it, it really was a little awkward.

Having a younger brother about the same age as your own child...

And he's a strong contender for the inheritance...

No wonder those brothers saw Julian King as a thorn in their side.

Everyone else said they didn't mind at all.

As everyone went inside, Julian King suddenly grabbed Cecilia Gu and whispered, "Why didn't Sophie come with you?"

Cecilia Gu rolled her eyes at him. "Why would she come now? Your family drama isn't sorted out yet! If it weren't for the three of us getting married together, I wouldn't be wading into this mess!"

"Yes, yes, Sister Cecilia, you're so generous, you're such a good person," Julian King hurried to agree. "I'll listen to whatever you say!"

Cecilia Gu is older than Sophie Mo, so Julian King calling her 'sister' actually makes sense!

But honestly, no woman likes being called old.

Cecilia Gu glared at him. "Sister? I'm way younger than you!"

Julian King quickly grinned, "Fine, fine, I'll even call you grandma if it means my family will agree..."

Cecilia Gu:

Rona Muir shot him a look, "I'm a businesswoman too."

Jiro Hirayama immediately replied with righteous conviction, "Businesspeople can be skillfully fake too! As long as it's done with skill, it's not a problem at all."

Hmm, Jiro Hirayama's Chinese was getting better and better.

Cecilia Gu discovered that Julian King's eldest brother was almost thirty years older than him, and the other brothers were also much older. No wonder they were so against Julian King.

Even though wealthy families usually marry their second wives at a young age, the age gap here really was a bit extreme.

When Cecilia Gu finally met Mr. King Sr. and Mrs. King, she realized just how big the age difference was.

At this point, Mr. King Sr. was already in his seventies, while Mrs. King looked barely in her forties.

Mr. King Sr. was about the same age as Mr. Mo, but his son was in the same generation as Cecilia Gu...

Mr. King Sr. was clearly thrilled about everyone's arrival and came out to greet them from afar.

Mr. King Sr. took Cecilia Gu's hand and said, "Miss Yun, I've heard so much about you!"

Cecilia Gu smiled with a hint of awkwardness, "Uncle, you're too kind!"

It felt a little strange to call someone 'uncle' who was the same age as her grandfather...

Mr. King Sr. beamed, "I've admired the Yun Family's cultural legacy for a long time, but never had the chance to witness it firsthand. Today, having you here is truly a blessing for the King Family."

Cecilia Gu replied modestly, "Uncle, you're too humble. The King Family ancestors built such a magnificent manor, they must have been geniuses in aesthetics and architecture. Even though I've read a lot, I've rarely seen such exquisite estates. Coming here today is truly an eye-opener."

Hearing Cecilia Gu's praise, Mr. King Sr. looked as happy as someone eating a whole tub of ice cream in June—completely refreshed inside and out.

After all the pleasantries, everyone moved into the study.

Mrs. King and the other sons waited outside; only Mr. King Sr., Charles Yin, Cecilia Gu, Rona Muir, and Jiro Hirayama were in the study.

Now that there were no outsiders, Charles Yin dropped the formalities and immediately stated his request: "The King Family and Mo Family have a marriage agreement. We're here to ask your opinion and hope the wedding can happen soon. My wife's idea is for all three couples to hold the wedding together. Do you have any thoughts on this?"

Mr. King Sr. nodded slightly, glanced at Cecilia Gu, then at Rona Muir.

He already knew exactly who these people were.

The marriage agreement between the King Family and the Mo Family had been around for a long time, so it could be fulfilled at any time.

Mr. King Sr. sighed and said, "I didn't expect Julian King's marriage would need your help. Of course, the agreement should be honored, but right now, there's a bit of a complication."

The four of them looked at each other, then almost in unison asked, "Is there a problem?"

Mr. King Sr. looked troubled and said, "It's not a huge issue, but the King Family has a rule: if the eldest brother isn't married, the younger siblings can't marry either. Julian King still has an older brother who isn't married yet. So by tradition, Julian can only get engaged, not married."

What?

The four of them stared at each other in disbelief. Was this really a thing?

Cecilia Gu couldn't help but ask, "So, may I ask, how old is Julian King's older brother? Does he already have someone in mind?"

Mr. King Sr. actually blushed and said, "He's my illegitimate son, only two years older than Julian. He returned to the King Family a few years ago and is still in China."

Everyone was speechless for a moment.

Mr. King Sr., I salute you for being such a man!

You really know how to father children, don't you?

Cecilia Gu looked a little discouraged, "So, as long as he doesn't get married, Julian King can't get married either?"

Mr. King Sr. nodded.

Cecilia Gu felt a wave of frustration. What kind of situation was this?

All she wanted was to get married alongside her best friends, but even such a simple wish was so hard to achieve...

Charles Yin reached out and held Cecilia Gu's fingers, giving her comfort and support.

Charles Yin suddenly smiled and asked, "So, if Julian King's brother gets married, Julian can marry into the Mo Family anytime?"

Mr. King Sr. nodded, "Of course."

Charles Yin said confidently, "If that's the case, then leave this matter to me."
