"You dare? Anyone who opposes the Nang family of Yan Capital—do you all have a death wish?" Cindy Nang shouted, charging forward as her Void Realm aura erupted in full. Not just her—dozens of Nang family retainers leapt out, each one unleashing their own Void Realm qi.
Before Ryan Ling left for his deep-sea training in the South, he had asked Cindy to look after Sister Huifen’s family. Cindy Nang had sworn up and down she’d take good care of them, even patting her chest and promising to help them relax. But after all these twists and turns, not only Sister Huifen’s family but everyone on Sansha Island had suffered a blow like never before. Thanks to Cindy’s comfort, things had just barely started to recover—only for them to escape the Japanese devils, and now end up in the hands of their own countrymen. It was enough to make anyone absolutely furious.
"Anyone who tries anything will have to step over my dead body first!" Cindy Nang saw Huo Yinlong hesitate for a second and immediately shouted again.
"Old Huo, if a man isn’t ruthless, how can he accomplish anything big!" Lang Chen egged him on again.
"But..." Huo Yinlong was now certain these were people from the Nang family of Yan Capital—a clan even bigger than the Qin family, not the kind you could just mess with. Even if they were hiding their identities, if he really killed them, the Nang family would definitely track down the culprit!
"If you want to do something big, you have to kill people. The arrow’s already on the string—it has to be released. You think backing down now will save you? And what about your daughter, my disciple—aren’t you going to avenge them? You’re just going to let the Nang family push Hong Kong people around, let them kill your kid and mine?" Lang Chen kept shouting, his words already dripping with venom.
"Damn it, I’ll do it myself—die!" Huo Yinlong was clearly cornered. As the Huo Family patriarch, backing down now would be a total humiliation.
Besides, even if Cindy Nang was from the Nang family, her strength was clearly below his—he had no reason to be afraid. Moving faster than words, Huo Yinlong didn’t hesitate. He grabbed a butcher’s knife and swung it straight at the weakest person nearby: Granny Sha.
With one slash, Granny Sha collapsed to the ground.
"You bastards..." Granny Sha couldn’t even finish her words before breathing her last.
"Mom!"
"Grandma!"
Sister Huifen and Dragon Xiaoru burst into tears, screaming. The rest of the Sansha Islanders were all beside themselves with grief and rage.
Just moments ago, the Japanese devils hadn’t managed to kill Granny Sha—yet now she’d died at the hands of these villains. It was the ultimate tragedy.
"Bastards! Bastards! I’ll kill you!" Cindy Nang was completely enraged, grabbing her curved blade and hacking furiously. The air rang with the mournful screech of steel.
Granny Sha was famous as the kindest soul on Sansha Island—no one knew how many people she’d helped over the years. Now, seeing her motionless body, everyone’s tears started flowing.
"You? Little girl, you’re going to fight me? Courting death!" Huo Yinlong struck without hesitation, all restraint gone. He swept a punch at Cindy Nang, and she instantly felt her blood surge and was hurled aside, face pale, blood spraying from her mouth.
"So this is the Nang family’s best? Not as impressive as the rumors—I’m not impressed!" Huo Yinlong sneered, and the other Huo family members joined in, laughing and mocking to the extreme.
"Bastard!" Cindy Nang clutched her chest. If she hadn’t been injured fighting the Japanese, she’d never be this weak now.
But the Nang family retainers behind Cindy couldn’t stand such humiliation. They all charged forward at once.
"Die!" Huo Yinlong had already killed someone—what did a few more matter?
He smashed his fist down, and four Huo family disciples spat blood and died on the spot. Trying to fight Huo Yinlong with Profound-Tier Void Realm power was suicide—his strength was already at Heaven-Tier, nearly as strong as Philip Qin, and absolutely terrifying.
But even with four dead in an instant, the Nang family’s people didn’t fear death—they kept charging forward!
"Everyone, stop!" Cindy Nang couldn’t bear it—these were all good Nang family retainers, each with parents, some with kids of their own. Thanks to Ryan’s help, they hadn’t died at the hands of the Japanese, and she didn’t want them dying to these villains either.
"Miss, our lives don’t matter—but we absolutely can’t let him disgrace the Nang family’s reputation!" one of the older retainers shouted.
The other Huo family members were just as fired up, all clenching their fists—they didn’t care about dying. For them, honor was everything.
"I said, stop!" Cindy Nang didn’t want any pointless sacrifices. She wasn’t impulsive—if anything, she was the smartest one here. Since they couldn’t win, she’d just have to stall. She figured Ryan was probably almost done and maybe on his way back, so the goal now was to buy time—stall as long as possible.
Hearing Cindy Nang’s shout, the other Nang family members didn’t dare move. They gritted their teeth and slowly backed off.
"Smart. No pointless sacrifices. Now, tell me—where’s Ryan Ling?" Huo Yinlong stepped forward.
"No idea—and we’ll never tell! You bastard, give it up! Scum!" Sister Huifen couldn’t hold back any longer, screaming her lungs out.
"Bitch, die!" Huo Yinlong had already killed Granny Sha—he wasn’t about to go soft now.
"Stop! If you kill her, you’ll never find Ryan Ling!" Cindy Nang shouted immediately.
At that, Huo Yinlong finally stopped.
Dragon Xiaoru rushed over, hugging Sister Huifen tight, crying her eyes out.
"Speak! You must know!" Huo Yinlong’s tiger eyes locked onto Cindy Nang.
"Of course I know. I can take you there—but you have to let all these innocent people go. You can see for yourself, they’re just ordinary folks, they don’t know anything!" Cindy Nang said.
Huo Yinlong nodded, while the scheming Lang Chen still wanted to keep everyone as hostages.
Huo Yinlong waved his hand and smiled, "Old Chen, no need for that. Killing these ants would only ruin the Huo family’s reputation. Let them go!"
"Go, quickly!" Cindy Nang didn’t hesitate, yelling at Sister Huifen and the others.
"Miss Nang, what about you?"
"Sister Nang, come with us!"
Sister Huifen and Dragon Xiaoru both looked at Cindy Nang with worry.
"I’ll be fine. Go, save yourselves! And take Granny Sha’s body—her death will not go unavenged!" Cindy Nang gritted her teeth.
"But..."
"No buts! You, escort them out—hurry!" Cindy Nang barked, glancing at the other Nang family retainers.
No one dared argue—they immediately started escorting Sister Huifen and the others away.
The place that had been packed with people was suddenly left with only Cindy Nang and the Nang family’s core members.
"All right, take us there now. No tricks—I don’t care if you’re Nang family or Beigong family, if you dare lie today, you’re all dead!" Huo Yinlong snarled.
"Relax, I wouldn’t dare lie—my life’s worth more than yours!" Cindy Nang smiled.
"You little bitch, what are you saying? Want me to rip your mouth apart right now?" a Huo family retainer shouted.
"Heh, she’s right—her life is worth a lot. I like hearing that! Ha! Now hurry up and take me there, or I’ll make your precious life vanish in an instant!" Huo Yinlong laughed darkly, his voice suddenly hoarse.
"Heh, let’s go!" Cindy Nang gritted her teeth and started forward.
"Miss!" The Nang family members still had no idea what Cindy Nang was planning.
Cindy didn’t waste words. She clenched her fist, then suddenly let go. Instantly, the Nang family members’ faces went pale—they all knew what that meant, but no one dared say a word.
Very soon, Cindy led the group to the harbor where Ryan Ling had fought Yamata-no-Orochi.
"This scent—Ryan Ling was definitely here!" Lang Chen hissed, sounding like a snake.
"Ha, excellent! Miss Nang, you’re very cooperative—help me find Ryan Ling and I won’t make things hard for you!" Huo Yinlong laughed, though he was clearly on edge.
"Ryan Ling is right there in the center of that mound. He told me he’s working on something important—I wouldn’t dare bother him!" Cindy Nang said, pretending to back away.
"Ryan Ling’s inside that mound?" Huo Yinlong spotted the earthen hill ahead.
"He’s definitely inside, healing up. Old Huo, no time to waste—grab him and we’re set for life!" Lang Chen was fired up. Both men had been waiting for this moment forever; now they charged straight for the mound, no hesitation.
"Detonate!" Cindy Nang seized the moment and shouted with all her might.
At her shout, the entire dock erupted in a violent explosion. The Nang family had buried top-grade explosives here, originally meant for killing the Japanese invaders. But with Ryan Ling’s sudden attack, they hadn’t been used—now, they were set for Huo Yinlong and Lang Chen.
In an instant, the two venomous men were swallowed up by smoke and debris from the blast.
"Did it work?" Cindy’s heart leapt, but before she could finish the thought, Huo Yinlong and Lang Chen burst out of the smoke, protected by shimmering energy shields.
Cindy was stunned—the explosion had gone off right between them, yet they were completely unharmed, not even their clothes were singed.
"You bitch, I’ll kill you!" Huo Yinlong roared, showing no mercy as he lunged at Cindy Nang.
"Miss!" The Nang family members tried to protect her, but they were too weak. Huo Yinlong simply flicked his sleeve, sending them flying.
Cindy felt an overwhelming pressure—her bones were about to shatter, several acupoints burst open, and blood poured down her body.
It looked like she was going to die for Ryan Ling after all.
Cindy closed her eyes in despair, surrounded by Huo family members with murderous intent.
"Kill the little bitch first, then slaughter everyone on Sansha Island—I don’t believe Ryan Ling won’t come out!"
"That’s right—drag them all to the beach and execute them. Ryan Ling’s aura is nearby, he knows what’s happening. I refuse to believe that bastard will keep hiding!"
"The bastard’s wounded and afraid to show himself. If he doesn’t come out after we slaughter everyone, we’ll blow up the island—I don’t believe he can fly away!"
The Huo family members shouted excitedly.
"Ryan Ling, if you survive, avenge me—kill every last Huo family member! Kill them all!" Cindy Nang had gone completely mad. Her muscles suddenly swelled, energy roiling chaotically through her body.
"No—she’s going to self-destruct! Damn, she’s ruthless!" Lang Chen’s face went white. All the Huo family members backed away—Cindy Nang was making her last, desperate stand.
