"His grades suck, but he's got some serious attitude, huh."
The students nearby heard Evan Lin's words and instantly started buzzing, all watching this side with interest.
To them, Evan Lin daring to go up against Ryan Luo was like a mouse swaggering into a pride of lions.
Ryan Luo's face darkened at Evan Lin's words. "What did you say? Say it again if you've got the guts!"
Ryan Luo clenched his fists, eyes full of malice as he glared at Evan Lin.
Evan Lin looked totally calm. Beside him, Jason Liu quickly spoke up: "Ryan, he's just new here and doesn't know our class rules yet. Don't take it personally."
Jason Liu was usually a bit timid, but he was kind-hearted. He really didn't want his new deskmate, who'd just arrived, to get on Ryan Luo's bad side after only one class.
If Evan Lin got beaten up by Ryan Luo, no matter how it ended, he'd have a hard time fitting in with the class from then on.
"Yo, Jason, this kid just sat down next to you and you're already backing him up? You sure you're still one of us in Class 32, huh?" Ryan Luo turned and shot Jason Liu a cold glare.
That look of pressure made Jason Liu's face go a little pale.
"Don't say I didn't warn you—if you stand up for this new transfer kid and try to plead for him, you're going against me, Ryan Luo! From now on, you're not part of Class 32. Better think it over!"
Ryan Luo pressed harder, clearly determined to put Jason Liu in his place.
The others saw Ryan Luo talk to Jason Liu like that and couldn't help laughing. They didn't really like Jason either—his grades were decent, but his family wasn't much, and he never knew how to play the game.
Honestly, he was just too stubborn. Ryan Luo had even tried to get Jason Liu to help beat people up before, but Jason always went soft when he saw how scared the victim was.
"Jason Liu, don't be clueless—can't you see Ryan Luo's trying to show who's boss?"
"Yeah, don't be a traitor!"
The students nearby laughed at Jason Liu.
Seeing Jason Liu's awkward, slightly fearful look, Ryan Luo felt satisfied.
