In the study, Su Li calmly sipped her tea and took out the Qian Family’s letter. She said, “Seal it back exactly as it was, and have that Qian Family servant deliver it to Eric Qian in Ningport.”

The one receiving the letter was Sean Hayes, who scratched his head and said, “Chancellor Evans, if we send this to Eric Qian, he’ll go after our fleet and steal our business!”

Su Li shot Sean a playful look and said, “Since we already know Eric Qian wants to make a move, we’ll just prepare in advance. Sean finally got it, and hurried out with the letter to deliver it.

Su Li lowered her head and continued working through her mountain of official documents.

Not long after, April came in with a stack of files. As she entered, she caught sight of Mia Qian kneeling in the square and was startled.

April handed a stack of freshly organized construction progress reports and financial statements for the school to Su Li, still looking a bit dazed with surprise.

Su Li glanced over the documents and smiled, looking up at April. "Nicely done. April, you’re really getting the hang of things. You can handle everything on your own now—impressive!"

April blushed and giggled, "It’s all thanks to your guidance, Chancellor Evans, and my sister’s teaching. The folks in the Ministry of Works also help me a lot and work so well together. Especially Minister Ye—he’s so diligent and responsible."

When April mentioned Minister Ye, her eyes shone with respect and admiration.

Su Li smiled and nodded, "Minister Ye truly is a responsible and capable man. Stick close to him and learn all you can."

"Yes, Chancellor Evans!" April replied loudly, her face turning even redder in a way that was quite endearing. She then glanced back at Mia Qian in the square. "Chancellor Evans, isn’t that the eldest miss of the Qian family? Why is she..."

Su Li glanced at Mia Qian and smiled, "Mia Qian? She tried to steal someone else's man, so now she's kneeling there repenting."

"Hmph! Why would anyone stoop so low and snatch someone else's man? What a vixen—truly shameless!" April said indignantly.

"Exactly! She was doing fine, but insisted on throwing herself away," Su Li agreed, shaking her head.

After wrapping up business with April, Su Li noticed she was still standing there, clearly wanting to say something more.
