Soulbound Inn 2

"Hey, cousin, let's have some barbecue first. If anything happens later, at least we'll have some energy to deal with it," my cousin said, setting down a pile of skewers. We sat down and started eating.

"Aren't you eating, cousin?" I asked, munching on the hot grilled meat. My cousin shook his head, took out a can of beer, opened two cans, and handed me one.

I took a sip. It felt great.

"I've already eaten, cousin. Heh, just ran into an old friend and had a couple of drinks."

"Damn, was it a woman?"

Seeing my cousin's mischievous grin, I already knew. He nodded.

"Ah, we're already here, it's fine, cousin. Heh, let's finish eating first."

I started eating ravenously—I was really hungry. I kept glancing at the door behind the registration desk. I couldn't sense anything from inside. This feeling was just like when I was in the apartment building, and also when I was in Lord Malice's Hall of Malice.

I'm pretty sure this place is probably the Ghost Sovereign's domain. But then I remembered—the female Ghost Sovereign was said to have been killed by John Chou. More accurately, maybe John Chou did something terrible to her.

But Mr. Cumin said she had a compassionate heart—she should be a kind Ghost Sovereign.

With a creak, the door behind the registration desk opened. Granny Specter stepped out, her hair completely white, and gave us a look.

"You two are pretty calm, huh. Tsk tsk." Granny Specter smacked her lips and walked over.

"Granny, is there a Ghost Sovereign here? We'd like to meet her."

Just as my cousin finished speaking, Granny Specter burst out laughing, showing her toothless mouth and shaking her head.

"Disaster is coming and you don't even realize it. Two little ghosts, I warned you last time not to step into this Soulbound Inn again. Yet here you are. I'm afraid after tonight, I'll have to arrange your accommodations."

I let out a sound of surprise, and my skewer dropped onto the table.

"Granny, could you notify the Ghost Sovereign for us? We really have something urgent to discuss with her."

"Ghost Sovereign?" Granny Specter stared at us in surprise.

"Who told you that?"

"It was a friend of mine named Zhao Yuyang. He's a Blue Wraith. He heard it from another friend, so we came here."

As soon as I finished speaking, Granny Specter burst out laughing.

"There are three owners here, all on the 21st floor. But none of them can be called Ghost Sovereign. I've heard of Ghost Sovereigns, though. Nowadays, there are already five Ghost Sovereigns out there—one of them is said to have even taken the seat of an Eleven Halls Judge!"

I took a big gulp of beer and stood up.

"Granny, please, just tell us where the Ghost Sovereign living here is. Could you let her know we're here?"

Granny Specter just shook her head again.

"There's no Ghost Sovereign here. The strongest are just those three upstairs—high-level Blue Wraiths. The rest, from the 15th to the 21st floor, are all Blue Wraiths."

Listening to Granny Specter, I became even more convinced—there must be a Ghost Sovereign here. Otherwise, how could one place have so many Blue Wraiths?

"Enough talking. You two little ghosts better start thinking fast. There's a guest upstairs who's very eager to see you."

With that, Granny Specter ignored my further questions and went back into the room behind the registration desk. I rushed over, about to knock, but found the door was gone—it had turned into a wall. I knocked; it was solid.

"What do we do, cousin?"
