In the darkness, Jill Young's eyelids fluttered, then snapped open.
Compared to the last two times, Jill Young came to with barely any effort. She quickly reached for her chest—yep, no doubt about it, she really was Jill Young.
But judging by the feel just now, she probably picked a bra a size too small... figures.
She shook her head, tossing aside all those messy thoughts. What Jill Young really wanted to know was—where the heck had she ended up, and what kind of mess was she in now?
At first glance, everything seemed pitch black, but Jill Young’s eyes quickly adjusted, and with the faintest glimmer she could make out her surroundings. This kind of vision—definitely Snowfall Perception level! But when she listened closely, she didn’t get that super-hearing vibe. Looks like, although the Insight Technique Jill Young practiced works for her too, it’s still a notch below the real deal.
With Snowfall Perception-level vision, Jill Young could see she was in some kind of cramped spot. Looking around, she figured she was at the bottom of a big dirt pit—about two and a half meters deep, three meters across. The pit walls were nearly straight up, topped with a layer of weeds and leaves.
A faint light seeped through the gaps in the cover, letting Jill Young finally get a look at her surroundings.
"Last time with the Blackridge Bandits I got locked up, and now I’m locked up again—just my luck. But judging by this pit, it looks like one of those animal traps. If there’s a trap, there’s gotta be people—or at least some clever critter that knows how to set one up…"
Just as Jill Young’s mind was racing, a golden light flashed in the darkness—it was her right palm again, and the same profile image popped up! Only this time, the profile was female, looking almost exactly like Jill Young herself.
"Better grab some clothes first…" Jill Young was just thinking this when a massive surge of heat burst out from the profile image on her right hand.
This was the energy of the Auric Relic!
Back when the Auric Relic was powering up Jill Young, at least seventy percent of its energy got sucked away by that profile image. Finally, it’s paying her back today!
A massive surge of heat flowed through her whole body, just like soaking in a hot spring. But unlike last time, there was no pain—Jill Young only felt pure comfort. Bones, muscles, organs, nerves—everything was strengthened by this baptism, and faint cracking sounds popped from every inch of her body.
It felt like a blink, or maybe forever, but Jill Young snapped out of her trance. She was drenched in sweat, but maybe because her body was so pure, she didn’t have that nasty stink Jack Young always did.
She clenched her fists—oh man, this feeling of power!
Jill Young could hardly believe her senses. This overflowing, blood-pumping power made her feel like every move could hit the human limit! The Lotus Eight with their fancy dantian-blood tricks? Weak sauce. Jill figured she could get the same effect with just a random punch now!
This—this was the effect of the Titan Spirit Method, second level: Whole Person Realm!
Just one baptism, and Jill Young reached the second level of the Titan Spirit Method. If Master Golden Wheel is watching from above, he can finally rest easy, right? Jill Young really is an external martial arts genius!
Jill Young threw a few punches at the bottom of the pit—whoosh, whoosh, whoosh! Every punch stirred up the air. This pure, raw power felt absolutely awesome!
Just then, a commotion came from outside the pit—sounded like two creatures chasing and fleeing. Jill Young was about to sneak a peek when, with a loud crack, the cover above collapsed and something thudded down into the trap, landing hard on the ground.
Jill Young instantly activated her Snowfall Perception. Through the swirling leaves and sudden burst of light, she clearly saw what had fallen—a black... dog?
Wait, no—this dog was way too fierce. It landed without a scratch, sprang up, and when it saw Jill Young, it bared its teeth, growling menacingly. Those sharp fangs were stained with blood, and its eyes burned with savage intent and a predator’s hunger—plus a touch of crazy panic from falling into the trap.
This was definitely not some domesticated pet—this was a true hunter that had survived the brutal food chain: a wolf!
With a low growl, the wolf lunged—a black blur, jaws snapping for Jill Young’s throat. This attack was fiercer and faster than most boxers. That gaping, bloody maw could make any grown adult tremble. A harsh reminder: in the wild, the human body is anything but tough!
Good thing Jill Young still had her Snowfall Perception.
She twisted aside, dodging the wolf’s strike. "Stay calm, stay calm. Wolves are vicious and tough—you gotta hit their weak spots. Focus, sense its energy, find its weakness."
The black wolf missed, spun around, and lunged again—jaws snapping for Jill Young’s thigh. Jill shifted her footing, dodging the bite again. As the wolf brushed past, she could even smell the stink of its breath.
"Calm down, focus. A wolf’s just another critter—it’s got blood and energy. If I can sense it, just sense it..."
The black wolf, frustrated after missing twice, went even crazier—quick little steps, mouth open, aiming for Jill Young’s calf.
Wolf snaps, Jill Young dodges—"Sense it!"
Wolf snaps again, Jill Young dodges again—"Sense it!!"
The wolf went nuts, biting in a flurry, while a big red X popped up in Jill Young’s mind: "You done yet, punk?!" She lifted her leg, pulled back, and swung—a textbook power kick!
Bang! Jill Young’s foot landed square on the wolf’s face. With a yelp, the wolf was sent flying, crashing into the side of the pit.
"Sense your ass! Internal skills, my ass! Screw it, I’m going full brute force!"
She strode over, grabbed the wolf’s neck with her left hand, pinning it against the pit wall before it even hit the ground. Right fist clenched, she drew back—bang, a punch to the head! Bang, one to the gut! Bang, one right to the family jewels!
Yeah, that punch to the family jewels definitely made a cracking sound...
With the wolf howling in pain, Jill Young grabbed its neck and slammed it to the ground with an over-the-shoulder throw. The impact sent dirt flying, and the wolf was left dazed and dizzy. Jill spun around, straddled its back, and pinned its head, unleashing a flurry of punches—each one solid, each one satisfying.
After pounding the wolf until it stopped moving, Jill Young grabbed its upper and lower jaws, twisted with all her strength—crack! The wolf’s body jerked, and finally, it stopped breathing.
Whew—Jill Young let out a long breath and stood up. That beatdown felt amazing! Brute force really is the way to go, I’m already looking forward to this otherworldly adventure! And hey, isn’t this wolf a wild beast? If there are more of these in this world, then I’ve got all the blood and flesh I need to train my Titan Spirit Method! Hahaha!
Just as Jill Young was about to start her wonderful new life in another world, a head popped up above the pit. The guy had wild hair and a beard—looked just like a caveman. Jill’s sharp eyes caught something odd: his hair and eyes were different colors. He was white.
Jill Young squinted. Don’t tell me that English dictionary’s finally gonna come in handy?
Next thing she knew, the caveman stared dumbfounded at Jill Young and blurted out, in English: "Fu—k!"
"What?!" Jill Young blinked in shock and replied in English, "My English isn’t great, so I’ll give you another shot—try saying that again, but get your tongue in order, okay?" She wasn’t sure she heard right; her vocabulary was pretty rusty.
The guy seemed like he hadn’t spoken in ages. He gestured, then enunciated clearly: "I said, I want to sleep with you. F-U-C-K, got it?"
Lightning seemed to flash in Jill Young’s eyes.
The guy suddenly remembered how to talk and got all smooth: "Hey babe, I don’t know where you came from, but you fell into my trap, so you’re my prize now!" He pointed at the pit. "If you don’t agree, I’m not pulling you out!"
In a flash, Jill Young vaulted off the pit wall, grabbed the edge, and flipped herself up—face-to-face with the caveman.
Seeing Jill Young’s dark, stormy expression, the caveman was stunned for a moment and stammered, "Or, uh, maybe you can do me instead?"
"Get down there!" Jill Young slapped the guy on the head, sending him howling back into his own trap. As he whimpered, Jill’s right hand flashed with golden light, and she summoned a crossbow.
With the cold, gleaming crossbow aimed at him, Jill Young’s face was deadly serious: "From now on, you answer whatever I ask, using simple English—got it? If you say one word too many—" Her killing intent flared. "I’ll finish you off right here!"
