Causing Trouble

Evan Yang wasn't particularly worried; he directly opened his divine sense to scan the general layout of the mountain gate.

Within this mountain, there were thousands of people visible, and who knows how many more were hidden away cultivating. For a branch to have so many, the main sect must be huge.

Right now, Evan's main priority was to figure out who the strongest cultivator here was.

Before Evan could investigate further, the people inside spotted Lance Bluefield. A group walked out, and the man leading them, as if he'd already received word, smiled at Lance and said, "Kid, you're back?"

"Where's May?" Lance asked when he didn't see the girl he loved.

The man sneered, "Her? She's with Elder Rowan. If you want to see her, just bring what Elder Rowan wants and go straight to his residence."

"Is she alright?" Lance asked anxiously.

"See for yourself," the man replied with a smile.

Lance, anxious, tried to rush in, but Evan stopped him: "I'll go with you."

Even though Lance wanted to go, the others wouldn't let him. It was clear they were trying to provoke Evan. The man laughed, "If you're not a disciple of our sect, you can't enter. How can you be so clueless about the rules?"

"If I don't go in, how will I know what you plan to do to my friend?" Evan Yang said calmly, his expression unchanged.

"Your friend? Him? That's hilarious. He stumbled in here by accident, and now you want to make the same mistake and join our Yellow Heaven Sect?" the disciple mocked, grinning.

The others burst out laughing.

Evan shook his head helplessly, then moved in a flash—so fast that none of them could see what happened. All they heard was a series of crackling sounds, and when Evan returned to his original spot, the faces of those men were already swollen.

Each man touched his face, realizing it was swollen and painful. Furious, they wanted to take Evan down.

"Still not moving aside?" Evan sneered coldly.

Hearing this, none of them dared to move. Evan's terrifying speed had left them all behind, and they couldn't see through his cultivation either.

Lance Bluefield was stunned, not expecting Evan to act so quickly.

Evan hadn't planned to act so soon, but their arrogance forced his hand. He had to give them a lesson—if it were any other time, he wouldn't have bothered.

"Let's go," Evan said with a smile to Lance, who was still in shock.
