“Oh! Rewards! Yes, yes!” said the Celestial Emperor. “I was just looking for you two!”
Sean Shaw asked eagerly, “Should I call Divine Lady Lucia over?”
“No need,” said the Celestial Emperor. “I can just tell you.”
Sean: “Tell me? Aren’t you supposed to ‘give’ something?”
“I’m rewarding you with a mission.” The Celestial Emperor grinned, showing his teeth.
Sean frowned. “What kind of mission?”
The Celestial Emperor carefully produced a piece of rune paper, its aura tightly concealed: “Reliable sources say Baxa has been showing up in Wildlands City. Find him and plant this Tracking Rune in his body. Make sure no one notices!”
“Baxa?” Sean was a bit surprised. “You really need to handle this personally?”
“I’m bored!” The Celestial Emperor shrugged. “The world’s at peace, nothing much to do.”
Sean eyed him suspiciously. “There’s more to this.”
“Don’t overthink it, Little Five!” The Celestial Emperor said with a smile. “If you finish the mission, you’ll get a real reward this time!”
Sean took the rune paper and asked, “When do we leave?”
“Whenever you want! According to our sources, Baxa shouldn’t be leaving Wildlands City anytime soon.”
Sean nodded.
“They say he’s pretty sly. Be careful!”
“Got it.”
……
Lucia Lu lay in bed, unable to sleep.
Her mind kept drifting to Snow Yuan.
Snow Yuan in every possible scenario.
